To think that really pyjamas should be washed after every wear?

Not that I do it!
But they are worn next to the skin for 8 hours and I'd wash anything else worn like that..

What do you think?

Some people wear pants underneath and don't feel the need for that reason, not me, but some people.

It would be like wearing pants 2 days running- yuk! Everyone's clothes/pjs washed everyday in our house - even on holiday

WeAllHaveWings · 31/08/2017 22:09

I mostly wash mine after one wear, but only due to night sweats, prior to these symptoms I'd wash weekly. Probably a bit grim but I always go for a shower first thing every morning,

cardibach · 31/08/2017 22:09

See, the 'even on holiday' people confuse me. How do you take enough luggage to do that? I don't take that many day time items on holiday! DD has just dine a Kieth in Europe on less luggage than that in total.

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuckKeidis · 31/08/2017 22:09

I wear a tshirt and pants or just pants in bed. I change the pants every day.

cardibach · 31/08/2017 22:10

Done a month not dine a Keith.

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 31/08/2017 22:11

I only wear PJs when I've got my period. Otherwise I'm in the nip.
PJs get washed every other day.

Yep washed after every wear. I used to be more lax but started suffering from night sweats a few years back so since then I do.

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 31/08/2017 22:14

My dd9 came into our room this morning and I was obviously naked in the bed. i.e she could see my shoulders were bare. She said " you were doing it last night" That's usually the only time I sleep naked.

Your 9 year old was commenting on you having sex and she knows that if you are naked in bed that means you were having sex? That is all kinds of wrong.

gillybeanz · 31/08/2017 22:14

once or twice a week here.
I can't be bothered washing for the sake of it.

Happydoingitjusttheonce · 31/08/2017 22:17

I shower before bed and shower in the morning but I don't exert myself in my nightwear in the way I do my knickers. So I change my knickers at least once a day but my pjs once every 3 days max. A quick nasal inspection of the crotch should be your guide really

chipscheeseandcurrysauce · 31/08/2017 22:17

I change mine once or twice a week, I shower in the evening, my bedding gets changed every 2-3 weeks and my towel gets washed around 4-6 weeks (I'm the only one who uses it).

YorkieDorkie · 31/08/2017 22:21

I probably use two sets of PJs per week and that's only because I inevitably spill my breakfast down them. I'm not really a sweaty/hot person so I don't feel unclean.

You don't? How'd do you get round the suburbs then?

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 31/08/2017 22:23

Ok, I'm still stuck on the fact someone (can't remember who) gets 10 days out of a pair of jeans - 10 DAYS!!!!!! Part of me wants to know how and the rest just thinks grim!

SpiritedLondon · 31/08/2017 22:24

*Who THE FUCK wears anything in bed (under the age of 60)???

Most people*

This really does my head in......who the hell says what most people wear. What you mean is that you wear something and you therefore assume that's the norm. I have no idea what most people wear but the thought of wearing underwear AND pajama bottoms just sounds like " thrush central" - there must be a lot of sweaty vaginas in the morning.

AdorableMisfit · 31/08/2017 22:25

There are sometimes good reasons for washing pyjamas after each use. I wash my DD's pyjamas every time she's worn them, because she has eczema and goes to bed covered in greasy ointments which soak into the pyjamas during the night. She is also very prone to skin infections and clean pyjamas every night is one way to minimise the infections.

VinoTime · 31/08/2017 22:26

Washed after every wear for both me and DD. I wouldn't wear the same underwear/top two days running, and I see PJ's as the night-time equivalent. I'd feel utterly grim climbing into the previous days pants, so I'm not about to shove on unwashed jammies.

Regarding the environmental impact, sure, it's not great. But I stopped at one child, I wash (full loads only) at a low temperature using an A++ rated machine and I dry everything naturally (no tumble). Our carbon footprint is pretty much as low as it can go for a small, 'modern day' family - and that's across the board, not just on the laundry Wink

LaurieFairyCake · 31/08/2017 22:28

I also wear a bra in bed

So would you if you had 36J/K norks that get trapped underneath and it wakes you up when you have to retrieve them.

LetZygonsbeZygones · 31/08/2017 22:31

spirited my flat is like Siberia in February and the chance of waking up with a sweaty vagina is about as remote as Siberia. More likely to wake up with a frostbitten foof.

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 31/08/2017 22:31

I have no children and I haven't eaten meat in 20 years. I'm off to wear clean pyjamas every hour. Grin
