AIBU - Nursery

My daughter is 16months and goes to nursery twice a week.
In our religion, girls' nappies are not changed by boys and girls must be dressed with dignity. nursery are aware of this.
Today, I went to fetch her and she was running around in just a nappy. No clothes at all. This was extremely upsetting as I know male members of staff walk through and around the nursery. I'm not making any personal comments or any judgements, but it is against our religion. It transpires that her clothes were all clean. Her spare clothes were available and she has been well behaved. No one knows why she was without clothes for over an hour.
AIBU to cause a storm over this,?

As far as I know there are two main branches called Brethren in the UK, The Exclusive Brethren and the Open Brethren. (There was a separated in 1848 I think!)

According to Wickepedia, the "... Exclusive Brethren are now divided into a number of groups, most of which differ on minor points of doctrine or practice."

I am not an expert but I would be surprised if this was anything to do with them.

I think 'fundamentalist' is quite hard to define. But yes, I would say exclusive Brethren would fit the 'fundamentalist' image but this thing about dressing for babies doesn't fit to me with them. Open Brethren would appear quite different, e.g. I don't think they have any head coverings but some parts of exclusive brethren do (e.g. the ones known as Plymouth Brethren do).

Anyway, Logan, I could be wrong but I'd be very surprised if it was Brethren of any sort.

Yes, intergalacticbrexitdisco I agree the working full time outside the home doesn't quite fit, but then again there are lots of people who have strict rules about some things but not about others!

I agree most(all?) Brethren women would not work once they are married/have children... But didn't the OP just talk about LO going to nursery for 16hrs a week only? That doesn't match up with working FT.. Anyway all of this has become academic but my feeling is that her religion must have been a small sectarian type of church, similar to Brethren or scientology etc...

I can not see a Brethren female spending £300 on makeup?

Floozie66 · 01/09/2017 08:15

Its a sad world when we have religions that have an issue with a baby in a nappy - so i assume this religion permits females to change baby boys nappies - and why is this wrong if the other way round - the male might become sexually aroused ?? I wish more people would question why they abide by such strange logic under the guise of religion

Modesty for a 16 month old child? Right. Hmm
