can you think of the last show that actually made you laugh out loud?

OP posts:
BlurryFace · 26/08/2017 13:58

Rick and Morty makes me CRY with laughter.

Katedotness1963 · 26/08/2017 14:29

I appear to have had some kind of sense of humour bypass as most of the stuff advertised as comedies, I just do not find in the least bit funny. I do love Life in Pieces though.

yawning801 · 26/08/2017 14:32

The narrator on Dinner Date is pretty funny with puns.

BeyondThePage · 26/08/2017 14:44

Have to agree with Taskmaster had us all (me, DH, 2 teen DDs) crying with laughter on many occassions.

My last actual bellylaugh was watching Taskmaster where the contestants had to put 3 large exercise balls on a yoga mat on top of a hill in the wind - fastest wins. It was just SOOOOOOO cheek achingly funny.

LetZygonsbeZygones · 26/08/2017 15:06

Totally agree with you. The last sitcoms to make me smile were Episodes and In The Thick Of It. Since then nothing and before them nothing for years. Certainly nothing of the calibre of Yes Minister, Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Black Books. And stand ups seem universally unfunny - just trying to be random and surreal with nothing funny to say.

BeyondThePage · 26/08/2017 15:11

Oh I like that thing on Dave where Alan Davies chats with people (As yet untitled?) - some of the combinations of guests have really gelled and bounce gags/life stories off each other so easily I feel envious of the lifestyle sometimes.

BeyondThePage · 26/08/2017 15:12

Red Dwarf is still going!

EB123 · 26/08/2017 15:23

Friday night dinner is good and Car Share.

I can't stand Mrs Brown's Boys or Miranda.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 26/08/2017 15:29

Sad to say but the only thing that gets me howling is 'You've Been Framed.' Surely I should have grown out of unintentional slapstick?

I used to cry laughing at 'It's a Knockout' in the 1970s but that was partially laughing at Stuart Hall laughing. (Stuart Hall no longer funny.)

Comedy shows elicit a slight smile these days. Sigh...

craftsy · 26/08/2017 15:44

It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia. That's made me laugh so hard I've thought I'd be sick at times.
The Mick. In the same vein (also starring Kaitlin Olsen) not as funny but still has genuine lol moments.
Silicon Valley. Not always laugh out loud but the "SWOT" to decide whether to late Blaine die was great.
Episodes. Frequently hilarious.
Speechless. Just a fantastic show funny, heartwarming and bittersweet at the same.
People of Earth. Weird but wonderful.
And they are not comedies but Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and iZombie both have some very genuinely funny moments.

simplysleepy · 26/08/2017 15:47

New bbc2 show 'Quacks' is REALLY funny

rizlett · 26/08/2017 15:53

Count Arthur Strong.

This Country.

fairgame84 · 26/08/2017 15:55

Friday Night Dinner, Father Ted, Still Game and Impractical Jokers all make me laugh.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 26/08/2017 16:31

Oh yes, I think he's great. Love his put downs Grin

I used to cry laughing at 'It's a Knockout' in the 1970s but that was partially laughing at Stuart Hall laughing.
I find that sort of thing funny too Ellen. Used to like Total Wipeout when the contestant bounced off of those massive red balls and Amanda Byram would be sniggering her head off whilst trying to pretend to be sympathetic. Also liked Bigheads when the contestants got blatted Grin

Albertschair · 26/08/2017 17:23

Full series of quacks available on iplayer. I'm definitely enjoying it. Full loud laughter a few times an episode.

There's so much variety around now it's hard to believe there's nothing new you find funny.

Brooklyn 99 is brilliant.

Lucifer on Amazon is funny enough.

I'm going to check out unbreakable after the recommendations on here

kmc1111 · 26/08/2017 18:04

Brooklyn 99, Silicon Valley, Veep, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, You're The Worst, Broad City, Insecure, Review, Master of None, Bob's Burgers, The Good Place, Atlanta, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Transparent, Catastrophe, Fleabag...all currently running.

There's also Black-ish and Fresh off the Boat if you like family sitcoms.

whippetwoman · 26/08/2017 18:08

I find Parks and Recreation to be properly hilarious sometimes. The kids and I laugh out loud a lot watching that. Watch the episode about safe sex for senior citizens. It's a classic.

NormaSmuff · 27/08/2017 06:28

where can i find parks and recreations?

Plentyoffishnets · 27/08/2017 07:47

I watched rojeth rangunathan meets comedians in a cafe/ in pubs on the iPlayer last night. It was really funny and i was crying with laughter in the cafe one with the siblings. Is the first interview. Brilliant.

CaptainBrickbeard · 27/08/2017 08:11

Norma, it's on Amazon Prime Smile.

NormaSmuff · 27/08/2017 08:12

thanks captain

FV45 · 27/08/2017 08:17

8 out of 10 cats.

WowserBowser · 27/08/2017 08:29

@Plentyoffishnets I keep seeing clips on FB. I would like to watch that as it looks funny.

mummarichardson · 27/08/2017 13:09
