can you think of the last show that actually made you laugh out loud?

OP posts:
SandyBeachandtheDeckchairs · 26/08/2017 00:30

Kimmy Schmidt too - Titus has all the best lines and is a complete LEDGE!
Fresh meat funny too.

GinDoll · 26/08/2017 00:32

Unbreakable on Netflix 😆

GinDoll · 26/08/2017 00:32

Oh haha should have read the thread. Glad I'm not the only one 😆

readyforno2 · 26/08/2017 00:33

Jay that made me chuckle too!

Impractical jokers really makes me laugh. Some of it's a bit cringey but it is hilarious

ThisIsntFunnyDean · 26/08/2017 00:33

Catastrophe and Man Down. Both recent and lots of laugh out loud moments.

littlepeas · 26/08/2017 00:34

Parks and Recreation! Although I do think it is a bit marmite - we love it, but a friend we recommended it to described it as 'dire' (no taste, clearly). We have had to pause it so we can finish laughing.

ILoveMillhousesDad · 26/08/2017 00:35

But of course, it's all subjective.

I couldn't laugh at Miranda if I was being tortured. Add mrs browns boys to that list

You say tomayto, I say tomato. Lets call the whole thing a thoroughly nice chap and say it doesn't matter what race he is Grin

SandyBeachandtheDeckchairs · 26/08/2017 00:38

we have excellent taste gin :D

readyforno2 · 26/08/2017 00:43

I'm the same Ilove Mrs Browns boys bores me to tears. I have no idea how so many people can find it funny

SnickersWasAHorse · 26/08/2017 00:47

Surely though not finding modern stuff funny is the way the world goes.

Just think back 25 years and they things that we loved, Vic Reeves Big Night Out, Bottom, Young Ones were considered 'alternative comedy' and our parents didn't like them.

Now we are the parents so we won't find modern stuff funny. It's like not liking chart music or not liking the current fashion.

HelenaDove · 26/08/2017 00:49

Millhouse im also not a fan of Miranda and cant stand Mrs Browns Boys. Utter crap.

ladybird69 · 26/08/2017 00:49

The last time that I laughed out loud and had face ache was watching Alan Carr live in a small theatre it was so funny. I really want to laugh more but everything is boring me. I adored robin williams he was so clever. Everything seems false and like they're trying too hard.

Quimby · 26/08/2017 00:57

Of comedies that are still running or have ended in the last year

Catastrophe
Workaholics
It's always sunny
Rick and morty (best comedy on tv currently)
Brooklyn 9-9
Last man on earth
Veep
Black-ish
Silicon Valley
The good place
Bojack horseman (ok this might be the best comedy on tv at the moment)
Silicon Valley
Fleabag
Atlanta

SandyBeachandtheDeckchairs · 26/08/2017 01:02

You've reminded me about Veep Quimby such cruel and funny lines by Selina Myers. Fantastic!

StarlightExpress5 · 26/08/2017 01:06

White gold
Toast of London
House of fools
All big hits here.

Justchillaxing · 26/08/2017 01:13

I miss Peep Show! Wish they'd do more. Is Pete vs Life as good? Any other similar suggestions? UK not American.

IvorHughJarrs · 26/08/2017 01:13

I am old but I miss political satire like Not The Nine O'Clock News and Spitting Image. Made me laugh out loud and influenced politics at the same time

Quimby · 26/08/2017 01:14

"You've reminded me about Veep Quimby such cruel and funny lines by Selina Myers. Fantastic!"

It's a genuine classic
Will never beat the source material but it's up there with curb, parks and Rec, the office, IASIP and the other great American sitcoms

drigon · 26/08/2017 01:16

Harry Hill's (often surreal) commentary on You've Been Framed makes me cry with laughter sometimes.

drigon · 26/08/2017 01:18

Agree with Quimby, Blackish can be very funny on a good day. Especially Junior.

AnneGrommit · 26/08/2017 01:20

Mum was a really good one that was on last year. Gentle on the surface but very well observed with a bite to it underneath.

Agree about Car Share, Catastrophe and Parks and Recreation. And would add The Detectorists.

Also maybe about three years ago there were a couple of series of a programme where famous women in history were seen in a therapist's room. Can't remember the name of it but it was very good.

AnneGrommit · 26/08/2017 01:22

Drigon I've introduced the older dcs to the reruns of TV Burp and even though they (obviously) haven't seen the programmes he takes the piss out of they love it. He's a very funny man, for sure.

Glittermud · 26/08/2017 01:25

Bridget & Eamon

HelenaDove · 26/08/2017 01:26

Drop the Dead Donkey Absolutely brilliant A classic.

CanadaMoose91 · 26/08/2017 01:44

Brooklyn 99 and Grace and Frankie are both hilarious.
