can you think of the last show that actually made you laugh out loud?

OP posts:
ContinuingPrim · 25/08/2017 23:48

The Almost Impossible Game Show.
Some bits of Phone Shop ("a owl?").
Rabbids Invasion

RaininSummer · 25/08/2017 23:50

We accidentally recorded ancient game shows and they were so funny with bad eighties hair, ghastly clothes and shit prizes. We also watch the entire series of Frasier about every two years. I agree there is hardly anything funny now.

GirlInterruptedOftenByKids · 25/08/2017 23:50

Taskmaster! I have laughed so much I've had to pause the TV to get my breath back

ManicUnicorn · 25/08/2017 23:50

Miranda is shit IMO.

I can't remember the last time I had a proper belly laugh at something I watched on television, it was probably in the 90's!

GirlInterruptedOftenByKids · 25/08/2017 23:51

Oh and another vote for Friday night dinner. ..just showed it to dn and she thought it was hilarious

WishfulThanking · 25/08/2017 23:52

I was watching one of the most recent Big Bang Theory episodes today. I agree with you, OP. Didn't raise a smile. I can't believe Penny and Sheldon get $1M per episode, especially Penny. She's got a (very boring, predictable and unfunny) bit part now.

spankhurst · 25/08/2017 23:52

This Country is bloody hilarious. It was on iplayer and I watched all 6 episodes in a binge. The Inbetweeners, Miranda and the IT Crowd make me laugh a lot. But a lot of comedy now is 'clever' rather than downright funny.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 25/08/2017 23:52

Taskmaster is bloody brilliant. New series out very soon. The whole family sits round to enjoy that one together (inc on the repeat which they bleep so DD can enjoy it too).

And I laugh lot at the Goldbergs.

Penny4UrThoughts · 25/08/2017 23:52

Girlinterrupted, I came in to say the same thing. The sandwich challenge, Omfg, it was the best thing EVER!

SnickersWasAHorse · 25/08/2017 23:53

Loads of stuff.

Try Kimmy Schmidt and Parks and Recreation on Netflix.
Man Down on Channel 4 is great.
Fleabag on BBC 3 is excellent too.

HTKB · 25/08/2017 23:54

Quacks. It's brilliant!

SnickersWasAHorse · 25/08/2017 23:54

Yes, Taskmaster. That's so funny.

hamsterloverlover · 25/08/2017 23:55

HIGNFY (I always watch the extended version - is funnier)
Mock the Week
The Last Leg

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 25/08/2017 23:55

Catastrophe. Absolute hilarity, but tinged with pathos.

Sharon Horgan - I know you are on here. I fucking love you, girl.

Henrythehoover · 25/08/2017 23:55

I'm with you op nothing seems funny. I end up watching old stuff. I just don't get Miranda and loads of things just seem to be really childish or smutty. Maybe I'm just getting old. My friend had been telling me to watch deadpool for ages (I know it's a film) but it was just trying so hard and so dull.

Henrythehoover · 25/08/2017 23:58

Whats Hignfy?

ElBandito · 25/08/2017 23:59

I'd forgotten about Friday Night Dinner, that is absolutely funny.
Anything on Paramount doesn't count!

SnickersWasAHorse · 25/08/2017 23:59

Have I Got News For You, Henry.

ElBandito · 26/08/2017 00:00

Have I got new for you = HIGNFY

Katinkka · 26/08/2017 00:02

Catastrophe made me pee with laughter. Love that show.

I used to love satire shows but find them boring now.

Still watch Father Ted regularly and also love Friday Night Dinner, New Girl and Seinfeld.

DumbledoresApprentice · 26/08/2017 00:02

Catastrophe!

BikeRunSki · 26/08/2017 00:03

Life in Pieces (Amazon), but I believe that "Peak sitcom belly laugh" was reached when Del Boy fell through the bar.

leccybill · 26/08/2017 00:05

I did quite enjoy Car Share recently although it was mostly gentle humour with some laugh out loud moments.

Bad Education made me laugh.

Yes to Catastrophe - love it. It's funny and sharp and true and sad and brilliant. I'm a bit in love with you too, Sharon.

HelenaDove · 26/08/2017 00:06

Dave Allen............brilliant.

Loads of his stuff from the 1970s through to the 1990s is up on youtube
