New video shows police in Charlottesville standing idle while a racist pulls a gun and opens fire on protesters

Racist points gun at black man, yells "hey n*gger." Then fires.

Police. Do. Nothing.

Small silver lining of arpaios pardoning:

Soledad O'Brien @soledadobrien
Note: Accepting of pardon is an admission of guilt and can be used in civil suits.

A scary thread about how white supremacists might have infiltrated Police

[in response to the police not reacting to open fire on black protesters)

Sharon Furiosa @sfhater
This response indicates to me that the VA state police force may be infiltrated by white supremacists.

This piece discusses the FBI report on this phenomenon, released in 2006, and whether anything was done about it.

Ooh, Pain, that's interesting about the bot-beating.

Beautiful thing is, if the amplifiers aren't Russian bots or knowing allies, they won't be bothered by the negative Russian news.

It is pleasing that it uses their own M.O against them.

This is heartbreaking

For Nat'l Dog Day let's remember the time JoeArpaio's Deputies set a puppy on fire, laughing at its sobbing owner as it died a ghastly death

I'm letting myself have 10 minutes of despair this morning. Sad
I'd read some of the Apaio stuff and then went on to read Seth Abramsons's link to the Puppy/fire incident in Apaio's sordid past. It just seems hopeless doesn't it? Apaio has been a shit for the majority of his 85 years, Trump has been associated with him for about 3 years (?) so Apaio has been getting away with it for a long time. If the checks and balances didn't work as far as he was concerned through all the previous administrations, just think what his type will get away with now.

cozietoesie · 27/08/2017 11:51

It's a bad moment for you, sure enough. Remember that there will be hurts along the way. But also remember that you're strong. Persist. Smile

TheNorthWestPawsage · 27/08/2017 12:01

Thanks Cozie I've had a strong coffee (covfefe?) and given myself a stern talking to. Smile

The Trump administration keeps chipping away at anything that is good.

Is he actually allowed to do that? KAC was disciplined for promoting Ivanka's goods if I recall?

I seem to remember it's ok for POTUS to use the office of the President to promote stuff but not for staffers to do that?

cozietoesie · 27/08/2017 13:27

Ah.

badbadhusky · 27/08/2017 13:33

Yet again providing that this POTUS' brassneck is so 'out there' he's exploiting a whole host of loopholes the founding fathers failed to anticipate as necessary, as they assumed (wrongly) that only a decent, principled person would hold the highest office in the land.

In a similar vein, do I recall correctly from an earlier thread that revisiting any aspect of the constitution opens the whole thing up for renegotiation? I am starting to wonder if Trump was enabled as the weapon to 'break' the constitution so it can be reshaped to better meet vested interests' needs. I know, I know - I'll go fetch my tinfoil hat from the hall. Wink

cozietoesie · 27/08/2017 13:42

He was elected by a minority of voters. Just remember that.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
I will be going to Texas as soon as that trip can be made without causing disruption. The focus must be life and safety.

lionheart · 27/08/2017 14:07

This is really interesting.

As far as Scrotus promoting books etc: Remember y'all, that the rules don't apply to him. He's Donald Trump. It's why he has such a 'connection' with Arpaio. They operate on the same wavelength. It's worked for him all his life. He sees no reason to change tactics now.

Arpaio was voted out when it got to be too much for the people of Maricopa Co. We can only hope and pray that it bites Scrotus in the ass the same way.

cozietoesie · 27/08/2017 14:21

Thanks for those links, Pain.
