My newish neighbour is having a party. He's met us and knows we have three small children. He's also met the other neighbour in our group of houses, an older lady.

The two other houses here are empty - both families on holiday.

The music is crazy loud, the kids are already going nuts with the lack of sleep and older lady neighbour has just been round asking for our help getting the noise down. Not off, I get that it's 11:30 on a saturday, just down.

So DH goes round, already to be civilised, and gets told to 'fuck off.' The music is now louder. They're screaming.

The police won't be interested, we're rural. Revenge is on my mind and his bedroom overlooks my back garden. I'm sure I can fashion drums out of various bits of the kitchen and shed.

AIBU? They certainly are Angry

I always found that the police may be disinterested in noise complaints but the drug squad will usually attend and shut things down if you report that you think something dodgy might be happening. Just saying for future events....

holidayqueriwifi · 20/08/2017 08:59

Whistles! You need whistles! And rave music!

RB68 · 20/08/2017 09:04

Get the kids recorders

christinarossetti · 20/08/2017 09:06

That sounds like an utter nightmare kateberry.

KatyBerry · 20/08/2017 09:09

God you're right about business rates as it's NEVEr his home and he makes that clear from his listing! Talks about it as former home and how he lives abroad and house manager lets people in! You are clever and I bet you were asleep at 3am.. x

YerTiz · 20/08/2017 09:10

Agree with Toes, if you report a party as a possible rave in future someone normally comes to check for drugs Wink

Butteredparsnip1ps · 20/08/2017 09:15

I think you need to introduce some sugar.

You've clearly got off to a good start, but you your DC need stamina to maintain the campaign. No? So after the breakfast argument has concluded, you need to up the ante.

Music practice, water play. Karaoke. Make a day of it.

daisychain01 · 20/08/2017 09:16

Yup, thats it, make a paper trail and start building caste iron proof you have had a dispute with your neighbours.

Then see what happens when you try to sell your house quickly at the price you want,

Doesn't do up enough buttons on his shirt

Summary execution at dawn is too lenient. Just make sure it doesn't get included in the documentation.

LakieLady · 20/08/2017 09:17

*That sounds like a change of use from residential to business and that needs all sorts of inspections and safety insurance.

It might mean business rates should be paid.*

Good call!

This could be CFN dog groomer all over again.

Libitina · 20/08/2017 09:20

You need to play this (It HAS to be this version) REALLY REALLY loud and if it's a semi, turn your speakers to the wall. It will cut through ANY kind of music!! Used it twice in previous houses, works a charm.

JustDontGetItAtAll · 20/08/2017 09:22

Libitina Just played that video and it caused my 2yr old to say (for the very first time!!) "No nooooo!! Turn it down!!!!" Whilst holding her ears and running out of the room!! X

LakieLady · 20/08/2017 09:23

Can you still buy those vuvuzela things that were such a pain in the arse so popular a few years ago?

They'd be just the job for creative play early on a Sunday morning.

MrsChopper · 20/08/2017 09:27

Is there a housewall the little cherubs can kick a ball on repeatedly?

PricklyBall · 20/08/2017 09:28

Ooh, if we're getting into revenge opera, surely it's got to be

in its full operatic version with lots and lots of Wagnerian sopranos going at it full belt!
MarmaladeAtkinsX · 20/08/2017 09:32

A couple of tracks to recommend - Gummy Bear, what does the fox say and crazy frog.

I'd do intervals today - just when he thinks it's safe to go back to sleep. And if you know he's up - crank it up in case his hangover is kicking in.

user9512736123 · 20/08/2017 09:33

I think you need more children and make a marching band.

StealthPolarBear · 20/08/2017 09:38

Please don't waste the police time by reporting drugs
My children have recently discovered All by My SEEEEEEEEEEELF by Celine dion
That's a nice peaceful morning tune they can sing along to

AmberStClare · 20/08/2017 09:38

Oh What a Beautiful Morning from Oklahoma sung at full blast or You Tubed out of the window has great annoyance power if you are feeling a bit fragile.

Never too young for your DC to develop an appreciation for musical theatre.

C0untDucku1a · 20/08/2017 09:38

This thread is so satisfying

Libitina · 20/08/2017 09:43

Libitina Just played that video and it caused my 2yr old to say (for the very first time!!) "No nooooo!! Turn it down!!!!" Whilst holding her ears and running out of the room!!

I think that's why some areas play a really high pitched noise that only small children and teenagers can hear. Hope your little one has recovered now? I suppose if she plays up you could always threaten to play it again?? Wink

amousehaseatenmypaddlingpool · 20/08/2017 09:44

We've had a little break whilst adults had breakfast, so the kids have had more sugar. Was going to call it a day now but with everyone's excellent points about hangovers kicking in, think the paddling pool might be coming out. It's a lovely day after all.

Great updates.

You just need to rinse and repeat every morning this week and next weekend.

VanillaSugar · 20/08/2017 09:47

I am blatantly placemarking for all these wonderful ideas!!

Ankleswingers · 20/08/2017 09:50

How's it going op? I love this thread and am so pleased you have done something this morning.

WHAT a total knob.

Bet he's head is sore though GrinGrin

Ankleswingers · 20/08/2017 09:51

I'm with Lweji .
