to be angry at DH? *Title edited by MNHQ*

I work full time but had taken a day's leave today as it's been mega stressful recently (miscarriage and a LOT on at work) and I wanted to spend a day with my son.

Anyway, I went out this morning to run errands with DS who's 3 and had taken chicken out to defrost for dinner at about 11am.

Came back later, tried to tidy up and get house organised.

DH came in and started to prep dinner and chicken hasn't defrosted through! He's just walked out in a huff and has gone to get himself dinner and hasn't even asked if I'd like anything. He'll probably sit at McDonald's and come back quite content and I'll be starving and I'm bathing DS and will be putting him to bed. I know there will be a chorus of "oh but just text him!" But surely it's rude to just leave someone dinnerless.i realise in the grand scheme of things this is a non problem but it's just selfish.

He said he shouldn't have done it - did he still eat it while you went hungry though?

AnnieAnoniMouse · 16/08/2017 23:03

MNHQ Fail. FGS what's it coming to? 'Wring his neck' is now not PC enough. For crying out loud, can't you just melt all the fucking snowflakes instead? It's pathetic.

Anyway, Gertie, you can't leave it at that! It's not like he forgot to put the bin out. He chucked a strop because the chicken wasn't defrosted (not your fault, easily fixed or cook pasta or something) but then he went out and bought himself dinner & fuck you. NOT even a hint of justification for being such a wanker. How can you just shout a bit then carry on with someone so horrible?

HeyRoly · 16/08/2017 23:04

Ugh Imperial, I can't believe the man-on-woman abuse that gets justified as "kink" Hmm

Butteredparsnip1ps · 16/08/2017 23:04

Que?

Your DH is a lost cause. As are MNHQ I'm afraid.

raspberrysuicide · 16/08/2017 23:10

I hate selfishness like that. Even if someone makes a cup if tea without offering anyone else makes me mad.
One of my ex's ironed all of his shirts and nothing of mine once so I screwed them all up and shoved them under the bed I was so angry.

Bahhhhhumbug · 16/08/2017 23:16

I thought he'd already come in and said 'think what you like' ? Sorry lm genuinely confused did he go out and come in again after eating ? What a twat anyway. My exh used to go to the pub leaving me with the young dc and promise bring me a fish and chip supper. Many times he would come in with just his own a day eat it / finish it in front of me. Just cruelty really and control imo. Exh for a reason obv.

Loads of them out today, it's starting to properly amuse me. I want to run around threads with a flag Grin

Bahhhhhumbug · 16/08/2017 23:17

'and'.....not 'a day'

Ceto · 16/08/2017 23:20

He apologised and said he shouldn't have done it.

I hope he therefore turned round and went out to get you something to eat?

BuzzKillington · 16/08/2017 23:23

How pathetic that MN has changed your title.

I'm more irritated by this than your feckless husband!

Chilver · 16/08/2017 23:25

And having said that he shouldn't have done it, did he either share his kebab with you or go out and get you something? If he did neither, I would seriously be considering how I could share my life with someone so rude and who clearly doesn't like or respect me.

And, I would also be planning a time that I could waltz off, with no notice, to do something I want to do one evening just after he has walked in from work, just to highlight that it goes both ways (and neither feel nice for the party left behind!)

Finola1step · 16/08/2017 23:35

Woah, woah, woah. Here we have a woman who just days ago had a miscarriage. She posts today about really selfish behaviour from her OH. Said woman uses the phrase "wring his neck" and people report. So MNHQ jump on the bandwagon and edit her title. Are you shitting me?

I am an old timer. I've seen MN at its best. But for fuck sake. This is beyond a joke. Seriously, MNHQ, in the words of Jim McDonald "Catch yer self on!".

There will always be GFs and such like but such heavy handedness is really worrying.

gertie I am really sorry that you have had such a tough week. Your OH is a prick, as you know. He should be wrapping you up in cotton wool right now. Not being a dick. In a way, I hope his behaviour is due to his grief, which can make us behave in very odd ways. Please look after yourself. Flowers

Bahhhhhumbug · 16/08/2017 23:36

can someone link me to Kayak twat man

honeyroar · 16/08/2017 23:41

I hope he likes takeaways, because he'd be eating them forever more (or until the divorce came through) while I cooked myself a delicious, single portion meal every night. What a useless bloke. Why would you bother with someone like that.

MilesHuntsWig · 16/08/2017 23:43

Your husband is a complete arse. That is outrageously selfish and misogynistic behaviour. He is viewing you as a servant rather than an equal in your relationship. Do you even like him?

PodgeBod · 16/08/2017 23:49

So he said "think what you like" and then when his belly was full he said he shouldn't have done it? Yeah that sounds like genuine remorse Hmm I'm fuming for you op I really hope you had a lovely dinner and never cook for that dick again. Childish, selfish, obnoxious arse Angry

airforsharon · 17/08/2017 07:58

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD MNHQ!

"wring his neck" is as much of a well known expression as "box his ears" and "oh I could shoot him" - WHY have you edited the title of this post but the 'could shoot my friend' post still stands?

From now on posters, remember if you're furious with someone only "aibu to wag my finger" will be allowed.

redsquirrel2 · 17/08/2017 08:51

As a protest to MNHQ we should all say that OP should wring his neck. OP, wring his neck.

Papafran · 17/08/2017 08:58

MNHQ are pathetic- sorry guys, but this is not the first time you have acted completely OTT and ridiculously.

I reckon you should definitely wring his neck.

TheLegendOfBeans · 17/08/2017 08:59

I'd wring his testes not his neck

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 17/08/2017 09:12

The world has gone completely mad. The reasoning was that if a man wrote it about a woman there would be an outcry.

I think the salient point here is that women do have their necks wrung by their partners in RL at the rate of 2 per week.

The other way round - not so much.

FuckYouLinda · 17/08/2017 09:24

It was easy for him to apologise with a full stomach Hmm

He's a twat. For the rest of the month week, cook lovely dinners for you and the kids and give him a cold kebab.

CoraPirbright · 17/08/2017 09:31

What a jerk - glad you gave him hell, OP but it worries me that it even occurred to him to do such a thing in the first place.

OOOOOPPPS "gave him hell" - will my post be deleted incase it offends devil worshippers? Hmm

Bahhhhhumbug · 17/08/2017 09:42

I see your point Rita but in a way l think it sad that these old and (often macabre from our past times when humour was much needed) sayings are gradually done away with for being non pc etc. I cringe more at some of the newer ones tbh such as ( usually by a football commentator) 'He's on fire' I always think how anyone whose family were involved in the Bradford fire disaster or any house fire ( and they were even still saying it after Grenfell disaster) must feel l don't know but expressions like ' not got a leg to stand on' may very well upset some amputees or 'give someone enough rope' very probably upsets people who have lost someone to suicide. But should we really get rid of these kind of sayings and should we refrain from inventing new ' macabre ' ' humourous' sayings such as 'on fire' ? Genuine question btw.

livefornaps · 17/08/2017 09:50

So are you actually planning on staying with that unbelievably selfish prick? I think he's shown his true colours here. If I were you, I wouldn't be able to stand to look at him.
