What am I missing ?? Never felt the need for one but best friend says I don't know what I'm missing ? Am I weird for never having a vibrator ??

If you've found this page in search of vibrators that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best vibrators useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ 💐

My dh goes wild if I play with myself but I get embarrassed and end up laughing . He is very very attentive to my needs and always makes sure I come either first or during sex .

I've got one ( just the one !) But does anyone else worry that it anything happened to you and someone had to rummage in your wardrobe/cupboard and came across it. Do you worry you'd be judged ?

spaghettiforhair · 15/08/2017 21:18

What is the best vibe to buy to start out ? Some of them look quite frankly "scary" haha

Don't get one that is too big to start with if you've never used one, I quite like one with ears Wink

Jessiecat27 · 15/08/2017 21:19

I'd say try one to see if you like it! I personally am not too fussed, tried a few different ones and they're okay but I prefer erm 'manual' whether it be myself or dp! Didn't change my life but I know some people love them and there are so many different ones! Ann summers staff can recommend if you're not too shy to ask them!

Luciferthethird · 15/08/2017 21:20

My friends made me buy one when I was 20 when I revealed to them drunkenly that I'd never had an orgasm, 28 now have never looked back have 4 rabbits and numerous other toys.
A nice wee cock ring would make it vibrate.

TiramisuQueenoftheFaeries · 15/08/2017 21:20

Nope. I'm pretty sure they're too common for anyone who might find it to care. I mean, I wouldn't like my mother to find it, because that would be one awkward conversation. But otherwise, judged... For what? Liking orgasms? Wouldn't it be a bit sad NOT to?

Henrythehoover · 15/08/2017 21:22

I always thought I was the only to not have one but then again I would never talk to anyone in rl about sex. They freak me out plus I'd be to embarrassed to even buy one. Then again I'm a complete prude who would never set foot in the likes of an Anne summers etc

BuzzKillington · 15/08/2017 21:22

I have never had one either, but I went to an Ann Summers party and realised I was def in the minority.

I did come away thinking maybe I have been lucky to have always had very attentive partners!

If something sufficiently terrible happened to me that people had to rummage through my personal stuff for me, I like to think they'd be too busy worrying about the disaster that had befallen me rather than getting snooty about the notion that I might have a wank now and again.

Ilovefraybentos · 15/08/2017 21:25

See this way of thinking baffles me! It comes across as if people think women can't enjoy a nice shag and also have a nice solo time too. Do people think women only want if their sex machine man isn't up to scratch?! Grin

dollydaydream114 · 15/08/2017 21:25

henrythehoover You don't have to go into a shop and buy them in person! They sell them online, you know. You don't even have to visit a naughty website to buy one. They sell them on flippin' Amazon!

abigailgabble · 15/08/2017 21:26

Eh I don't like. Cold plastic/jelly/whatever is not the same.

StickThatInYourPipe · 15/08/2017 21:26

LOL! No I don't care and I would really massively judged as I always end up buying a new one when the batteries are running out (they are always on offer a t Anne summers) but keep he old ones as 'I must buy some new batteries' so I have a drawer full of them hahaha!

RedStripeLassi · 15/08/2017 21:27

I'm tempted but I've never owned one. I might order one from love honey but I wonder if dh would feel sidelined Grin.

Holliewantstobehot · 15/08/2017 21:27

I found my parents' one when we were cleaning out their house after Dm died. Good for them was my overriding thought.

abigailgabble · 15/08/2017 21:28

I would buy one of those ££ super real ones if I was fussed I nearly did when I was pregnant because I was so hornt the whole time.

Hotheadwheresthecoldbath · 15/08/2017 21:31

I'm single and my wrists are getting a bit arthritic so have been wondering about getting one(or more),what are your recommendations?

BabychamSocialist · 15/08/2017 21:31

They're handy if you want some gratification and your DP is tired/away or also if you just don't fancy sex, where you have to wait for your DP to finish before you can have a shower.

Not that I'm making the Earth move every night or anything - I'm a middle aged woman with a weak pelvic floor! A cup of tea and a biscuit is the way to please me these days!

I doubt anyone would care! I assume that most bedside lockers contain some sort of sex related item, if I was clearing a house after someone died I'ld approach the bedside locker with caution anyway!

I tried one once, didn't really like it
I orgasm easily so don't think I'm missing anything, if anything I need to slow it down as I finish too fast Blush so don't think that adding intensity is for me!

I did get a whole heap of shit about NOT using one at an Ann Summers party. One of the other guests kept making digs about it because I was the only one there that didn't use one. Things like saying something pretty mainstream then looking at me and saying "oh sorry! I didn't mean to shock you!" Hmm

I don't not use one because I'm a prude. I LUFF masterbation. I just like it how I like it!

BuzzKillington · 15/08/2017 21:34

The reason I said I was lucky re partners, was because at the Ann Summers party I went to, with lips loosened by wine - the other women all said their partners were rubbish at making them orgasm. In fact, they didn't even expect it! Shock

Mumof41987 · 15/08/2017 21:37

I don't know if I could walk into Ann summers and buy one ? I know they probably wouldn't bat an eyelid but I'd be cringing . I am such a soft shite . Do people really ask Ann summers staff for advice on vibrators and recommendations ? I mean I guess it's there job but I'd be so embarrassed . I really want to try one but have no clue where to start ? Do you ladies who have them buy big ones ? Are the bigger ones better ?

hingedspeculum · 15/08/2017 21:37

Hothead, I recommend with my entire soul and being, a hand wand that plugs in to the mains. Yes they look absolutely ridiculous and are a comedy size, but that means they don't require you to have any dexterity.

GinAndSonic · 15/08/2017 21:41

Lots of people haven't used them. I work in Ann summers and often have people in buying their first toy.
