To think this screaming Audi woman was the one in the wrong?!

Some woman going crazy as if I nearly caused an accident but I think she was actually in the wrong???

So I need to know if it is actually me that's wrong and perhaps change the way I drive if I am.

You can see from the diagram there are three roads on this roundabout. I was going to take my first exit, she was going to take her second.

So, I went as nothing in the exit to my right. But she drove straight over the top of the roundabout and almost into the side of my car. Then started going crazy at me.

It was just a slightly raised painted white circle in the road if this makes any difference?

I await the verdict of the MN jury.

Thanks

Looks like you had right of way

khajiit13 · 09/08/2017 18:29

I'm confused, why couldn't you both go? Why did she nearly drive into the side of you? Was there but enough room for you to both pass each other?

RoganJosh · 09/08/2017 18:29

Where was she going to? I can't picture how she was near the side of your car?

TheCuriousOwl · 09/08/2017 18:30

You had right of way, she wasn't on the roundabout and didn't use it properly. A mini roundabout is still a roundabout. You both would have been able to go if she'd used it properly.

NSEA · 09/08/2017 18:30

You have right of way. She has to give way to immediate right. Which is you.

MsVestibule · 09/08/2017 18:30

Sorry, I'm a bit confused! Which road where you driving on? Verulam Road?

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 09/08/2017 18:30

Is it a tiny mini roundabout?

You were approaching from her right, you had right of way, regardless of the size of roundabout.

PaintingByNumbers · 09/08/2017 18:31

Those roundabouts dont really count as roundabouts wrt right of way if you had an accident (or so said my friends insurers when they settled 50:50 in a similar case). So best to try not to crash ... so audi woman was a pushy nutter

CoraPirbright · 09/08/2017 18:31

I think she shouldn't have driven straight over the roundabout and you didn't have anyone to your immediate right so I am thinking you were correct.

MsVestibule · 09/08/2017 18:31

Sorry, ignore me, just seen your first diagram!!

RoganJosh · 09/08/2017 18:32

Sorry, I see she was going for her second exit. Still can't work out how she nearly hit you.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 09/08/2017 18:33

You still treat them as roundabouts, mini or not

clarabellb · 09/08/2017 18:33

Because instead of going round the roundabout she drive over the top of it.

ForalltheSaints · 09/08/2017 18:33

From what I read the other driver is someone who was at least temporarily unfit to drive (too tired, stressed or some other reason), judging by her reaction.

clarabellb · 09/08/2017 18:33

Sorry DROVE

Mumof56 · 09/08/2017 18:37

Ifyou were taking the first turn, is that the same one she was coming out of?

I don't get why she would have to drive over the top of the roundabout? You weren't in her path?

Any way she was in the wrong, driving over the top of a roundabout is not good driving.

clarabellb · 09/08/2017 18:38

Yes that's right mumof56, and I have no idea...except perhaps to save time?!

OP posts:
clarabellb · 09/08/2017 18:39

Okay, thank you everyone. I was starting to think perhaps these type of roundabouts you can drive over and maybe I was being stupid!

Do Audi drivers have their brains removed when they purchase their cars?

LineysRun · 09/08/2017 18:43

She sounds dangerous.

ChelleDawg2020 · 09/08/2017 18:48

Do Audi drivers have their brains removed when they purchase their cars?

Only the ones who had one in the first place.

But anyway, you have to go round a roundabout - the clue is in the name - so from the description provided, the OP is right and the Audi woman wrong.

Catsize · 09/08/2017 18:49

She was wrong.

ImIncognito · 09/08/2017 18:49

I drove over one of those little bumpy painted roundabouts today at the giggling request of the DCs. No one else was anywhere near!

Obviously you had right of way. But regardless, even if she'd gone if she wasn't driving like a maniac there wouldn't have been a problem.

Was she screaming anything in particular, OP? And what did you say back?

GivingUpScouting · 09/08/2017 18:51

I live in your town and know that roundabout well. You absolutely had right of way. If she'd gone round properly, there's no way she would have been anywhere near your car.
