I've just spent 20 minutes on the tube listening to not one, but two babies screaming at top volume. It's nearly midnight! Who is that irresponsible?

imagin if your kids sleep till 10am then result, my 2 and 5 yo are hell on earth after 9pm holidays or not, did try to keep them up until 10pm a few times but still got 6am starts, Id not keep mine up till midnight at their young age I'd probably go insane at having them around me all evening too

PaulAnkaTheDog · 09/08/2017 00:25

Parents travelling with their children on the tube at night being compared to domestic violence. I think someone lost 'the argument' when they tried that twaddle...

GammaDelta · 09/08/2017 00:26

point is there could be reasons why parents are still out with kids at late hours. Hospital/ heath, late shifts, holidays etc..etc

diamond49 · 09/08/2017 00:26

Babies only need routine for their parents convenience.
I don't understand the school age child comment as they weren't schoolage

CoughLaughFart · 09/08/2017 00:27

Well if you're right I'm sure your little report will succeed.

Maybe they were on their way to the airport for a holiday or to a women's shelter after fleeing an abusive partner or to the A&E because the baby is sick... etc.

DeleteOrDecay · 09/08/2017 00:29

Nice attitude. Maybe I shouldn't have reported the domestic abuse going on next door either?

What's that got to do with anything?

wurlycurly · 09/08/2017 00:29

London is awash with theatre-going children tonight. Buy one adult ticket and get a free child's ticket for the month of August. My and my right-year old rolled in at 11 after 42nd street.

tathit its infuriating isn't it! Hope all is well with your little one now.

diamond49 · 09/08/2017 00:30

A school age child during term time has to be up for a certain time .a baby can generally sleep whenever it wants so 'no' , 'all the same theories' do not apply!

Scrowy · 09/08/2017 00:30

my cousin went to her sister's wedding with a 5 month old baby. Small intimate wedding in a family member's house.

Baby was basically asleep from about 7pm onwards with a rota of doting parents, grandparents and siblings sitting in for about 45 minutes each at a time.

At midnight the party was over and my cousin and her husband bundled the baby into the pram to walk the 10 minutes back home.

My cousin got verbally abused twice on the way home for having a baby out so late and was told she wasn't fit to be a mother.

She still gets upset about it now 10 years later. She did nothing wrong at all in my opinion. Even if its not a one off for the people you saw tonight I bet they aren't doing it purely for shits and giggles. They probably have no other option.

YABU

Does school holiday ring a bell

As I've already said, do you really think this never happens in September?

OP posts:
CheshireChat · 09/08/2017 00:31

But that's the one redeeming feature of a newborn, they're fairly portable Grin.

If I see something fun in the evening, even late, I'll happily take DS who is 2.5 and less portable. I'll just tweak his routine for a few days [shrug].

Also not all kids need a lot of sleep, I used to go to bed at 12 when I was at school and started at 8 a.m. I feel sorry for my mother if anything.

CoughLaughFart · 09/08/2017 00:32

Big report, little report, either way you're an absolute bellend who's thread will more than likely be deleted.

On what basis exactly? Any idiot can file a report - that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the thread.

HoneyDragon · 09/08/2017 00:32

is it that hard to understand that children need routine?

Children don't need a routine. Adults just happen to like them.

BanginChoons · 09/08/2017 00:32

Absolutely none of anyone's business. Different people have different routines. Surely you must realise that not everyone's children go to bed at 6pm? There's a great big diverse world out there!

Countvesuvius · 09/08/2017 00:33

Nobody takes babies out in September, don't be ridiculous

Wurlycurly we're gong to see that next week. I can't wait. My 12 & 7 yr olds will be on the bus though rather than the tube, I wonder if the OP will be just as disapproving?

DeleteOrDecay · 09/08/2017 00:34

As I've already said, do you really think this never happens in September?*

I couldn't care less when people take their babies/kids out. Why are you so bothered? What are you hoping to do about it?

GammaDelta · 09/08/2017 00:36

Would it be ok if it was a Friday night??
No school the next day?

TathitiPete · 09/08/2017 00:36

Ellieboolou27 Thank you and I hope your little ones kidneys are on better health Flowers

Some random woman deciding I'm a twat is not a reason to delete a thread. However, troll hunting is a reason to delete a post.

Enjoy.
