Babies on the tube at 11.30

I've just spent 20 minutes on the tube listening to not one, but two babies screaming at top volume. It's nearly midnight! Who is that irresponsible?

When DC1 was a baby I lived three tube stops from family in one direction and several stops from friends in the other. I went everywhere by tube, sometimes after dark. If the baby dozed off at someone's house, I waited until he woke up before putting him back in his sling and heading home. Much better for his routine.

AssassinatedBeauty · 09/08/2017 00:13

You said babies... and in the school holidays I'm not bothered about older children either.

Imaginosity · 09/08/2017 00:13

My children are school-aged and staying up late. Its the summer holidays - no school tomorrow. Why the need to stick rigidly to a routine if the parents and children are happy and functioing perfectly well in a more relaxed way?

AnnieAnoniMouse · 09/08/2017 00:14

Slow news night?

Coconutspongexo · 09/08/2017 00:15

I imagine it would be for something important if a parent had taken their school aged child on any form of public transport at that time.

Ellieboolou27 · 09/08/2017 00:16

lucked exactly! Young primary kids in supermarkets after 9pm on a school night has me eye rolling!

Babies on a tube at night? nah I'd just be glad I've not got to personally deal with the screaming Grin

Letstryagainshallwe · 09/08/2017 00:17

My baby has only just drifted off now. I can't force her to sleep! Am I irresponsible? How it be ok if they were in a car or is it just cos there on the tube?

TheSolitaryBoojum · 09/08/2017 00:17

My babies had routines, but their days seemed to be cut into 6 hour chunks. The tube is horrible at any time if you are a baby. School age children? It's the summer holidays you plonker, so time to suit themselves. Rather children yelling than drunk blokes menacing.

CoughLaughFart · 09/08/2017 00:18

How is it nonsense, PaulAnka ? If parents working shifts is an issue with babies, surely it would be for 5, 7 or 9 year-olds?

OP posts:
Imaginosity · 09/08/2017 00:19

Ellieboolou27 even in the summer holidays? My children's sleep routine for the holidays is midnight to 10am. We are all having a lovely relaxed time and might be seen out at the supermarket after 9pm.

DeleteOrDecay · 09/08/2017 00:19

Oh get over yourself op. What concern is it of yours anyway?

CoughLaughFart · 09/08/2017 00:20

It's the summer holidays you plonker

Well move over Stephen Hawking.

Are you telling me this never happens in September?

OP posts:
Ellieboolou27 · 09/08/2017 00:20

But there not school age, they are babies, it's summer hols and babies don't go to school Confused

CauliflowerSqueeze · 09/08/2017 00:20

Seeing 6/7 year old kids in their primary school uniforms yawning their way round Tescos at 10/11pm bothers me a lot more. How the hell are they going to cope the next day at school.

SerfTerf · 09/08/2017 00:20

Hours before school!?

In August?

OP why are you acting like you know the circumstances and why are you making up situations?

You have no idea why they were on the tube.

SerfTerf · 09/08/2017 00:21

FGS never visit the continent OP. You'll expire with disapproval.

TathitiPete · 09/08/2017 00:21

Ellieboolou27 Similar. When I was pregnant with DC2 I often had to travel -by train - to antenatal appointments with DC1. During rush hour! And I usually had to stand for the hour and a bit journey whilst keeping my 2 yo entertained.

Now DC2 has a chronic disorder that means regular hospital appointments. Again by train and again during rush hour so that we get to the hospital by nine ish because if a blood transfusion is needed then we're gonna be there for the day.

Oh, are inconveniencing people travelling to work, avoiding eye contact with the heavily pregnant woman? Oh well.

Nice attitude. Maybe I shouldn't have reported the domestic abuse going on next door either?

AssassinatedBeauty · 09/08/2017 00:23

CoughLaughFart · 09/08/2017 00:24

You lost the argument when you began the sentence with 'ugh'.
