Toddzilla Thread 2 - No Toddlers at the hen do please!

Second thread set up as demanded by the Mumsnet hen do menagerie :)

Original thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2998359-AIBU-You-dont-bring-a-toddler-to-a-hen-do?

Quick summary:
Organising friend's hen do. All booked and paid for, sorted. Two weeks prior a friend attending, hereby known as Demanding Woman, tells me she will be bringing her toddler and DP along as toddler has tantrums that DP can't handle and won't sleep without her there. She will also require a private room now in the converted barn we are staying in, despite everyone agreeing to share etc.

A whatsapp exchange ensues with myself declaring that no this will no be happening and Demanding Woman getting very shirty. Demanding Woman takes it to bride who also shuts it down. So far Demanding Woman is still attending hen do in less than two weeks but is now trying to take control of hen do in terms of games/food/drink etc.

We now have a whole minibus of Mumsnetters, Toddlers, Toddler-eating-dogs, Elephants, hamsters, moody teenagers all planning to attend with boxes of popcorn to take over barn and avidly watch my first meeting with Demanding Woman which I'm definitely not completely and utterly dreading

I'm not sure I will have any further updates for a bit but I promise if there are any further mad details to be had, you will be the first to know.

As you were, Mumsnetters.

I missed that she was trying to take over games! Hopefully she'll be shut down by enough people

innagazing · 08/08/2017 10:37

She's taken over the organisation of the food too???
Smiley faces and chicken nuggets for dinner then?

flowergrrl77 · 08/08/2017 10:40

I guess I could always pitch a tent in the garden for me and my extended family, we're ALL welcome right? :P

Serialweightwatcher · 08/08/2017 10:43

Has Demanding Woman now agreed her toddler and DP will not go can't see that happening .. I know it said bride has said no children, but did she agree?

drspouse · 08/08/2017 10:45

What games is she suggesting? Has she asked to tone them down, or is she now off the leash and raring to go?

SnugglySnerd · 08/08/2017 10:45

All ready here. The cat is making sure he gets plenty of sleep before his wild weekend away...

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/08/2017 10:47

I almost forgot, we are going on holiday the day after so DragonDog will require dropping off at the dog baby sitter. So in fact we will need matching hummers as we will not tolerate unnecessary journeys. And as dh is coming on holiday, he will of course be coming to the hen night. I know the bride won't mind. Remember DragonDog wants the yellow one. We want pink.

I have just caught up. I will be bringing both a toddler and a dog. Ddog once accidentally visited a naturist beach so he is fully prepared for any stripper action. DS is very keen on running around in his pants anyway so I am sure that will add to the general atmosphere.

I can't wait Wine

HLBug · 08/08/2017 10:59

Ohh goody, another thread Smile

Groovee · 08/08/2017 11:00

I'm here cause I love a Zilla thread.

Nellyphants · 08/08/2017 11:03

I'm coming. I don't like hen dos but I want to come & spend my time bitching & tutting.

I'm also allergic to wood so please wrap the barn in cling film prior to my arrival. I may also be vegan, sugar & gluten free depending on how I'm feeling on the day.

I will be spending 3 hours at a time in the bathroom &!insist on absolute silence for my hourly meditations

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/08/2017 11:12

Demanding woman is still likely to just turn up with her acolytes, I reckon. She hasn't actually said they won't. So I'm with whomever it was on the last thread who said "bet she turns up with them, claiming a bad case of limpetitis" or whatever.

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/08/2017 11:13

DragonDog normally does his Aquafit training session Saturdays so I'm assuming you will have completed the pool by then. Complete with retractable roof. The weather is so inclement this year.

SukiPutTheEarlGreyOn · 08/08/2017 11:14

These are the games I demand: 1) pass the parcel (music must only stop on my go) 2) sleeping dragons (nasty cheaters who can lie still longer than me will be sent to naughty step) 3) tantrum wars (mummy and I always win at this). Music is to be wheels on a bus on a loop. Fingerfood only (no nasty carrots or they will be thrown...ooh, that can be our next milk drinking game). It'll be fun, you'll see - just as long as you do everything my way. Ps I'll need your room as spare nappy changing place. I like to leave little smelly surprises. Thanxs, Hun. Xxx

Msqueen33 · 08/08/2017 11:14

Right...I'm coming. My older two don't want to but my youngest is autistic and going through a tricky phrase and I know she'd love to play with the animals. She's also gluten free and dairy free. You cannot touch her or her stuff! But that'll be fine right. We also need our own room and also a trampoline as she likes jumping. She doesn't really eat but everything has to be gluten free including for the other people. Oh and my older two want to be bridesmaids at the wedding or want to at least colour coordinate with the bridesmaids dresses so if you could find out the colour and let me know the date and venue that would be wonderful. I'll let you have our list of dietary requirements to pass onto the bride.

MidnightAura · 08/08/2017 11:50

Having just read the other thread in full, you'll have to mind not trip over my jaw on the floor!

I would like to come to the hen night. I'm bringing DDog and DPuppy as neither will go walks with only DH. DDog does have an obsession with penises so should fit right in. Might want to keep the stripper away from her.

RaeSkywalker · 08/08/2017 11:55

You've handled this all very well so far OP. I hope that the actual weekend away is ok- sounds like everyone else has the measure of her anyway.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 08/08/2017 12:02

I'm on holiday and it raining, your threads have really helped my Morning!

ItsNachoCheese · 08/08/2017 12:02

ehyhastherumgone thanking you kindly for the new thread

Cagliostro · 08/08/2017 12:03

Signing in!

I'm bringing the hedgehog that has been visiting our doorstep.

I'll need an adequate supply of mealworms and obviously I'll be taking all the cat food from the guests bringing their feline friends.

Mummyoflittledragon - FUCK OFF TO THE FAR SIDE OF FUCK!!!

You know my Ddog is having the pink hummer. This was agreed very early in the last thread. It co-ordinates with her coat perfectly.

Don't even try to pretend you didn't know this was the arrangement. Squoosh has it all organised. You simply can not change things now

KeepServingTheDrinks · 08/08/2017 12:12

I think Murphy the Scott IS a unicorn, Percy

SistersOfPercy · 08/08/2017 12:22

@keepservingthedrinks

He is! He shits glitter and everything! may not be 100% true

tccat · 08/08/2017 12:29

Who the fuck can't cope with a two year olds tantrums? didn't read the previous thread, that's insane, tell the ineffectual DP to man up and grow a spine and look after his own kid
Unless it's some bizarre control thing by him
