Toddzilla Thread 2 - No Toddlers at the hen do please!

whyhastherumgone · 08/08/2017 09:33

Second thread set up as demanded by the Mumsnet hen do menagerie :)

Original thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2998359-AIBU-You-dont-bring-a-toddler-to-a-hen-do?

Quick summary:
Organising friend's hen do. All booked and paid for, sorted. Two weeks prior a friend attending, hereby known as Demanding Woman, tells me she will be bringing her toddler and DP along as toddler has tantrums that DP can't handle and won't sleep without her there. She will also require a private room now in the converted barn we are staying in, despite everyone agreeing to share etc.

A whatsapp exchange ensues with myself declaring that no this will no be happening and Demanding Woman getting very shirty. Demanding Woman takes it to bride who also shuts it down. So far Demanding Woman is still attending hen do in less than two weeks but is now trying to take control of hen do in terms of games/food/drink etc.

We now have a whole minibus of Mumsnetters, Toddlers, Toddler-eating-dogs, Elephants, hamsters, moody teenagers all planning to attend with boxes of popcorn to take over barn and avidly watch my first meeting with Demanding Woman which I'm definitely not completely and utterly dreading

I'm not sure I will have any further updates for a bit but I promise if there are any further mad details to be had, you will be the first to know.

As you were, Mumsnetters.

sleepymama81 · 16/09/2017 22:23

She won't have turned up! She was uninvited, surely even she can't be that awful.

DartmoorDoughnut · 16/09/2017 22:32

Sorry @gincision I was merely place marking in an obviously over enthusiastic way 😂

Magratmakethetea · 16/09/2017 23:06

Been in since the beginning - SO waiting to hear x

Missrubyring · 17/09/2017 09:38

Hope the wedding went ok OP. This is absolutely not a placemark

HerRoyalChocolateBunny · 17/09/2017 09:46

This isn't a placemark either!

TheVoiceOfTreason · 17/09/2017 10:14

The tension is killing us OP!

As hilarious as this thread and it's predecessor are, in actually hoping that the update is that Todzilla (love that name btw!!) didn't show, and that the wedding went perfectly according to plan and all present had a fab time. I will be vicariously upset on the part of the bride of Todzilla did anything that in any way ruined it.

Mia184 · 17/09/2017 12:53

So - did she show up?

whyhastherumgone · 17/09/2017 17:06

Hello, sorry to leave you hanging, it's been a manic but lovely weekend and I've been totally wiped today.

DW did go but i believe there was a chat with the bride previously so she was re-invited, she didn't gatecrash. She brought her other half, no toddler in site, and kept very much to herself as far as I could see. I think she left very early as well as I didn't see her all evening although I wasn't looking for her. Somebody did say she was put out because although it was a child free wedding, there were selected family children there but this could have just been bitching, as she's quite the legend amongst a lot of the wedding guests now and cropped up in conversation a fair few times Blush

Fantastic for the bride that it was drama free, but apologies to the thread for not being able to give you more crazy updates. Although to be fair, I think she outdid herself in craziness anyway!

DartmoorDoughnut · 17/09/2017 17:26

Glad she behaved herself and that the wedding went well!

Aeroflotgirl · 17/09/2017 17:27

That's good, she sounds totally unhinged, I am surprised bride is still friends with her.

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 17/09/2017 17:33

As entertaining as it would have been im really glad the bride had a lovely stress free wedding!

I love that she will be forever known as toddzilla!

Hope you had a lovely weekend Rum and get some rest now it's all over Flowers

Jg1 · 18/09/2017 18:48

OP thank you thank you thank you for coming back to update us Flowers

I'm glad the wedding was drama free and that you all had a lovely time. I'd also like to think that just maybe DW will have learnt not to be quite so entitled, although I very much doubt it! Grin

andherplayfulsheep · 07/11/2017 16:28

Omg I can't believe I forgot about this and almost missed it! Just so happened this page was open on my other web browser. Glad the wedding went well, what an incredible story!
