Been home 5 mins from hairdressers.
Just got a weft in for £350 and don't know what I expected but this just isn't it...
Doesn't it look lank?
What do you think?

I'm a hairstylist qualified in extensions. remi cachet is beautiful quality hair but it is expensive hair to buy. the price depends on how much hair has been bought and how much they charge to fit. I personally think extensions look better when they're curled/waved. definitely go to a stylist how is qualified in extensions ask them to put more shape in. cutting hair extensions is very different from cutting normal hair.

I'm sure they've fitted them perfectly but they're not qualified hair stylists and this type of thing is a massive bug bear of mine. something that definitely needs changing in the industry.

wouldpoisonbesobad · 07/08/2017 18:21

Maybe you could go back and take a friend for moral support. Hair looks nice but not styled like advertised. Perhaps they could give you part of the cost back so you could have it styled elsewhere. I am sure they will not want a bad review.
I hope it all works out for you.

MissionItsPossible · 07/08/2017 18:21

Is it common wavesandwellies? Because I was just coming to post that I wouldn't be happy paying £350 to someone not qualified in what they were doing. I'd either go elsewhere or ask for a discount as none of the staff are fully trained in it.

It doesn't look horrible OP but it doesn't look like £350 amazing.

Allthebestnamesareused · 07/08/2017 18:42

If the person who did yours has lovely hair you need to ask her who does hers!

Lindsay28xxxx · 07/08/2017 18:53

The place I go gets a lot of the Newcastle football club "wags" in the goalies wife was in and they were giving her champagne and curling her hair ..
They didn't ask if I wanted it curled
Charming

Yep, get back there pronto! It could look great but for that price it already should look great.

Trustmeimadoggroomer17 · 07/08/2017 19:43

Did you get this done In Wigan by any chance I paid £600 for my hair a few years ago from a "professionahair extention salon" it looked shit the extentions didn't even match my hair and they were dry as fuck. Way way way worse that yours. I don't want to knock your confidence but I would demand my money back

KimchiLaLa · 07/08/2017 19:52

It doesn't look bad but for £350 I'd expect A LOT more.

Bluntness100 · 07/08/2017 19:58

To be fair though you could have asked if you wanted it curled.

Everyone is getting hung up on price but I think it's worth pointing out that's some of the most expensive hair there is and where the majority of the money has went, plus three hours labour in fitting. I genuinely think your only complaint is it isn't cut and styled as you wish. As you said yourself, none of them are hairdressers.

The hair itself is probably lovely. But it needs to be treated like normal hair, no product, uncut and not styled, it's going to just hang there.

MuncheysMummy · 07/08/2017 20:06

As a hairstylist who fits extensions I can say it will look much better waved/curled. It's just badly styled and price isn't crazy expensive...I charge £850 for a set of individual bonded extensions I don't do weaves r half heads.

Neutrogena · 07/08/2017 20:09

I think they saw you coming OP.
It's not horrific but it's rather cheap and amateur.

peppep · 07/08/2017 20:14

Sorry everyone, but I love it!! I think it's lovely xxx

LadyOfTheCanyon · 07/08/2017 20:14

I agree with Violet

Sometimes hair is just disproportionately too long on someone and from your photos, this is what it looks like to me. Without proportionate volume at the crown it just looks like its dragged down.

However, I know nothing about extensions, so feel free to disregard my two ha'pence worth.

Persemillion · 07/08/2017 20:17

Looks like two separate things, it doesn't blend and lacks styling.

I agree with PP's you should get this fixed or ask for a refund.

dolphinbbq · 07/08/2017 20:22

I removed my weave for this simple reason.. couldn't be bothered curling it everyday , I tend to leave my hair straight and it just looked awful.

Get a good cut and you should be okay. Plenty layers.

PoorYorick · 07/08/2017 20:34

Most super long hair looks lank, if I'm honest. And dry. A very few people have enough volume and texture to get away with it, but only a few. Mid length looks way better on most people. Ironically, if your hair is very thick, it's also heavy and drags down and looks thinner and loses its bounce.

JessieMcJessie · 07/08/2017 20:36

CaptainObviousTwo your second picture and the one that the OP said was advertised by her salon are two pictures of the same head, sort of blended together. Is this type of image a thing in the hair extensions world? I don't really get it.

Your first before and after is really beautiful.

OP FWIW I don't think that your hair in the pics looks too bad, it probably seems worse to you as it's such a big change. Sounds like with the salon people not being hairdressers that a cut should sort it out, shame that will be more expense for you though. Hope you get it sorted.

user1498911589 · 07/08/2017 20:46

£350 for that?! It's obscene to spend that amount of money on your hair. You've also been ripped off as it doesn't look like you spent £350 on it.

Pantryboy · 07/08/2017 20:49

I think they are having a joke OP
Get back there and demand your money back it looks awful

Ellapaella · 07/08/2017 20:59

It doesn't look shit - it just looks like it hasn't been cut or styled properly. For £350 personally I'd expect it to be styled and cut as part of the service. Can you ask them to sort it out or refund some money? If they have a Facebook page you could say that you will be putting a review online unless they help you get it sorted. The ends are very very blunt, I'm surprised they've left it like that.

Mummaofboys · 07/08/2017 21:03

That looks like something your friend has done for you not something that a professional charging £350 has done. I I'm really sorry I hope your not too upset about it, it's not awful just not great, might look better tied up in a long pony tail with a few waves and curls until you get a cut.

sonlypuppyfat · 07/08/2017 21:08

A fool and their money are soon parted

WORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORK · 07/08/2017 21:09

I knew they'd be hair extensionists & not hair dressers. I'd go back & ask them to give you money back towards getting the hair cut & blended as the ends are too blunt. But it doesn't look bad, just not £350/3 hours quality.

I had a weft in a year ago & it was awful. I have black hair but the extensions somehow didn't match, & with one wash it went so frizzy & matted. I was devastated. Even when I returned to have it washed by them, the hairdresser couldn't get the brush through my hair afterwards.

I stick to clip ins now!

aftersomeadvice23 · 07/08/2017 21:11

Once you wash it, it will change - mine did. You might need it cut too.

fruitbats · 07/08/2017 21:13

pant You have made me laugh.
Sorry OP Blush
