Argghh!! Just came out of my daughters school and stepped right in it. Right outside the gate FFS!! Can't you just pick it up with one of those charming little poop-a-scoop things. Evil, evil, evil. Rant over.

ugggh!

Have a good story that might cheer you up though...

My mum was having the same problem out by her back gate which was driving her nuts.

She was out there getting the car out one day and caught a woman with her dog mid-crap on my mums drive/verge bit by road. Mum stood there and waited for dog to finish, smiled at woman and said i trust you'll be cleaning that up.

Woman squirmed a bit, said of course and rummaged around in her pockets. Mum said it was bleedin obvious she didnt have a bag on her. Woman produces dog-eared tissue from her pocket picks up steaming turd with it and then cos she obviously dint know what to do next put it INTO HER POCKET and walked off!!!

PS said woman was v. posh looking and had one of those horsey type quilted jackets on.

My mum was in stiches afterwards.

Thats poo karma for you i reckon

ROFL

poo karma indeed.

People who don't clear up their dog turds should indeed be shot. Its really not that difficult (as an ex-dog owner myself). Difficult to catch them though (the owners not the dog turds)

You're not being unreasonable. I pick up my dogs' turds so it infuriates me to see dogs and their owners being given a bad name by those that don't clean up.

Having said that, the story is funny, but it does really annoy me when one of my dogs does a poo, and I'm given a nasty glare or asked "are you going to pick that up then?" before the poor bugger's even finished his poo and I've even had a chance to get my plastic bag out!!

But I don't wear one of those jackets.

Yeah, sorry, wasn't having a go at dog owners, just sounding off about the few who don't pick it up. We have lots of dog owners on our road but they ALL pick their turds up. I spy on them from my bedroom window

Mossie, my mum only watched over her as it was on her drive and she'd been having a recurring problem.

obvioulsy you get extra brownie points for not having one of those jjackets as well as clearing up after your dog !!

It's okay I know it annoys the hell out of me, too! The worst is when ... sorry if tmi ... I am out on the park, and I go to pick up one of my dogs' turds ... and it's cold ... which means it's ANOTHER DOG'S TURD!

Obviously I can't just leave it there, so I end up picking up two lots!

Ah well, the joys of dog ownership and everything...

Blimey, that is above the call of duty, but good on you

ohmigod!
I have no way of describing my anger about the dog owners who are responsible for this!

I would seriously be happy to divert a good percentage of police funds just to devote to CCTV and the arrest and imprisonment of these offenders. Irrational I know but what is wrong with these people?

Why do we have to put up with it???!!!

Mossie · 28/03/2007 14:11

Thehairybabysmum I can't help it, 'cos - well - once you've got a plastic bag around a dog turd, you can't just put it back and say, "hang on, this is a different dog's turd!"

Well you could, but I think you'd get some pretty nasty looks!!

Dazie · 28/03/2007 14:17

what is it with dog owners who once their dog has started the act of pooing feel the need to drag them pooing along the street thus spreading blobs all over the bloody path! usually outside of the school!!

I simply have no concept that anyone with an iq capable of feeding a dog could be moronic/selfish/lazy enough to think that letting your own animal take an almighty shite where the rest of the community have to walk is acceptable. Who are these people? What is wrong with them? Really what goes on in their minds?

I think dogs belong in the country where they have room to live and run around. I feel a bit sorry for city dogs. I love dogs just not the owners that cover our towns and shoes with shit!

Our local green area is known as Poo Park!

I won't even start because dog owners who don't pick up their dog shit infuriate me!!!

As a dog-owner I get really mad by the selfish behaviour of the minority. But it is not just dog-owners who are selfish as to the toilet habits of their pets - what about all the cats who come and crap in my garden ! It is private space where one should be free of unwanted poo.

don't start me on the owners of the cats who crap
ALL OVER
my garden!

Apparently if you have a cat the others won't crap in your garden.

That's great for the cat owners then! Shame about the domestic bird population!!

totally agree about the cat poo. I've got a bare patch of earth in the garden where the kids can dig about, but some cat has recently started using it as their toilet and had to stop ds playing in coz the all the poo - disgusting. how do you stop cats doing ths??

Cats will be attracted to your little patch as it is freshly dug.

My granddad used to put orange peel and toy plastic snakes down in his garden to keep cats away. No idea if it works though!

Oooh, hate this too
My ds's infant school's entrance is on a gitty (ginnel, alley, YKWIM) which always has fresh dog poo on in the morning, it's always the same colour and consistency (Mustard yellow and sloppy if you want to know! The worst!) which makes me think it's the same dog/owner. It's absolutely disgusting! Would be great to know who it is, would go straight to the police. Dh was even considering hanging around there for a few hours in the morning it got so bad at one point!
We had to campaign at our school to the council to have signs put up, and if there is dog poo now the school rings them up and they send men to jet wash it away (although this is after some poor person has probably stepped in it on the morning school run) Would cost them less to install a camera I'm sure!
ALSO... I live on a row of terraces and a dog comes to poo on my lawn too! Dh had a word with owner who apologised but it still happens (not funny with a garden loving 17 month old) so I bagged it yesterday [retch] and left it on their doorstep Fingers crossed that is it!
Ooh I've gone on too haven't I? OP definitely touched a nerve!
