CFN Thread #9 (Better call Planning)

Okay so I wasn't going to post until I'd had some kind of resolution. However, planning called today to ask if they could access my garden on Friday as they need to do some "further investigation" and have another planning official who will be there to oversee it??

They wouldn't tell me over the phone what it was about (it wasn't Nice Planning Lady, it was someone I hadn't spoken with before)

Thanks pp for the thread title - which coincidentally was very apt!

No sign of CFN/ builders etc.

There's now a sign up saying
NO ENTRY IN TO PRIVATE GARDEN
CONTACT SOLICITORS NAME if you require further information.

Can we have Dougray Scott as a planning expert?
He can check my blue prints any day.

Surprised this little speech hasn't reared its head yet

@WhatIsThisWatt to CFN & CFB

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my garden go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

milliemolliemou · 03/08/2017 21:58

Sitting in Watty's metaphorical garden with SpanGranPratacan (su casa es mi casa) with paella and rioja and my Hound from Hell. Staying here tonight and Friday so we can entertain Dougray Scott and his planning team with limon exprimido.

Catching up whilst on my hols!

Thought I'd share my county badges... with a twist. This is Guiding's Cambridgeshire East badge and Scouting's Cambridgeshire badge.

Yes I am back here (although on holiday in Wanaka at the moment). Good to know there are fellow mumsnetters even out here ! We might have to organise a catchup.

rainbowduck · 03/08/2017 22:33

Oh, goddamnit, I have to get on a plane tomorrow!

And what is trelli??!!!

FreezerBird · 03/08/2017 22:36

Here is Ceredigion's flag. I like it - it is quite badass and would eat a CFN if required.

Hi from melton (not quite Hull but just up the road)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/08/2017 22:42

@Funko

Vlad and Vanka have got quite excited about that other thread . . .

They may be a while getting to Wattyyyy's - unless, of course, there are problems with customs. We will have to wait and see.

HistoriaTrixie · 03/08/2017 22:44

The county where I was born doesn't even have a proper flag, it's something they bunged together in 2002! Instead, I give you the flag of the CITY where I was born (Cincinnati) which I've always thought was kind of nifty. Do love a Latin motto!

Also providing an attack rabbit in case all the hounds and cats fail. She weighs about two pounds but our cats are afraid of her!

Get away from technology he said
Connect with the kids without screens he said
Let's all remember how to have a real conversation, he said
The world won't end if we don't bring our phones, he said

So he drags us all to Spain and back to 19bloody88 and I only miss the best thread ever. Huff. I should LTB, right?

It's taken me 24 hours to catch up, (trello helped enormously, thank you) and now I have a craving for scones and a glee style mash up of various song styles stuck in my head. Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/08/2017 22:57

We have not yet had Vlad's hometown flag! Also coat of arms Smile

I put mascarpone on my scones. It's passible if you use enough jam. I can rarely get clotted cream here, here being Dutch Limburg.
And it's butter, strawberry jam, mascarpone clotted cream.

Have to say @MrsHathaway the first review of those spoons is hilarious!

"I was extrememly excited when I ordered my Kilner Jam Spoon, but extremely dissapointed when it arrived.

The spoon does not sit on my jam jar; it is not balanced correctly.

The first time that I used it, I confidently took my hand away from the spoon expecting it to sit neatly on my jam jar. It did not. Instead it rocked backwards and violently flung a lump of jam into my fish's bowl.

I tried to use a spatular to get the jam out, but it spread. Some of the thick (delicious) jam went into my fish's gills. My fish is now dead.

After the funeral service, I tried once more to balance my Kilner Jam Spoon on the side of my jam jar. This time my priceless painting by Jackson Pollock was defiled. I am now down $140,000,000 AND a fish AND an efficient, balanced jam spoon.

All in all, this was a very dissapointing experience for me.
I know that me and my family would have spent many fun-filled nights around the jam jar if this spoon would have just worked."

Grin also delurking
