Okay so I wasn't going to post until I'd had some kind of resolution. However, planning called today to ask if they could access my garden on Friday as they need to do some "further investigation" and have another planning official who will be there to oversee it??

They wouldn't tell me over the phone what it was about (it wasn't Nice Planning Lady, it was someone I hadn't spoken with before)

Sorry to offend, but blackcurrant jam is THE jam. Especially when it has a touch of sharpness to balance the full fat clotted cream. Homemade strawberry or raspberry jam are just about OK, but shop bought, imo, is just like eating liquid sugar with no real flavour.

Now, Irkutsk. It has a flag and two coats of arms. An old one and the new one.

The old COA depicts a siberian tiger (apparently).

I confess I was puzzled as to precisely what animal was depicted on the flag and the new COA. Luckily, Wikipedia has the explanation

This year's batch of raspberry jam (raspberries from the garden) I'd a particular success: ds is going through a jar a week on sourdough toast (homemade sourdough bread as well - starter is nearly 2 years old)

Dear @pickleboo the lovely @jux so nearly has it correct.

Just one or two teeny tiny fixes to make it perfect.

As other PP have mentioned one really should substitute "split" for "scone" (its slightly more 'bready' and therefore a lighter base to emphasise the cream) and dress with jam first then cream. Never butter.

The wasps warning holds good in both counties.

have to placemark (sorry) but I have lost several days reading every post (no skimming here I am very thorough). Love the songs/shakespeare/recipes/sketches etc and have laughed loads. I really need to get some sleep though as I have struggled at work having stayed up to the wee small hours reading everything. As I posted before (#3 I think?)
