Okay so I wasn't going to post until I'd had some kind of resolution. However, planning called today to ask if they could access my garden on Friday as they need to do some "further investigation" and have another planning official who will be there to oversee it??

They wouldn't tell me over the phone what it was about (it wasn't Nice Planning Lady, it was someone I hadn't spoken with before)

I have the morning to myself to catch up on Mumsnet and now am sorely tempted to pop up to the local Langage shop for cream and read whilst eating a cream breakfast. Jam and then crea obviously.
@scaryteacher I may or may not have been very near Dartmouth in the 70s, were you a Dartmouth or Churston pupil?

While I agree the clotted cream in the South West is fantastic, some of the best I've ever had was from a tiny corner shop in a village in the aforementioned Norfolk. We looked on all the shelves in the chiller and couldn't find any; more in hope than anger we asked the shopkeeper if she had any, and she ducked behind the counter and emerged with what looked like a chipped enamel washing up bowl half full of wonderful butter yellow crusty clotted cream. "'Ow much would you like?"

Oh, just bung that in a carrier bag, that'll do nicely...

Jam only. Can't stand clotted cream. But another Cornish girl here (albeit not born in cornwall and am actually English but I've lived here half me life) so cream goes on top.

Ursulapandress I remember it well. The chain, the well and the cow incident remains one of my all time favourite film comedy moments.
