Women- how much facial hair do you have?

I am a white 30 year old female and have a beard,it's on the front of my neck and a bit on my chin. I have had hormone tests and nothing untoward, but don't understand why I have such horrible facial hair. Sorry, TMI, but it's like pubic hair growing out of my neck. It's mainly isolated to a 4 patch under t chin and it's awful! I have to pluck every day to keep on top of it.

I haven't gone down the electrolysis road yet but will look into it but wanted to know if anyone else had the same problem? I know people who have the odd hair but this is a whole patch.

It's been a mare for years for me. Braun facial epilator is best of the many solutions I've tried

phlebasconsidered · 04/08/2017 18:58

I have hardly any body hair since I have an autoimmune disease. I shave my legs about twice a year and only on the lower leg. Armpits only every other month it grows so slowly. No hair on my arms or upper leg and a tiny amount down there. However, i regularly shed all of my head hair and eyebrows and end up bald and I still have a facial mole that grows two thick black hairs faster than the speed of light!

BarbaraOcumbungles · 04/08/2017 18:58

I'd have loads were it not for my lumea. I've always been hairy and have been tested for
pcos but don't have it, no everyone who's hairy does.

OlennasWimple · 04/08/2017 19:12

I got two episticks for £1.99 including postage from Amazon. Hurt like buggery but do work on tache hairs

MistressDeeCee · 04/08/2017 19:29

PCOS here too, I have thick dark stubborn chin hair. I've had to deal with it since I was 21 or so. Im now 54 and some of the hairs are white...! I use Nair Sensitive religiously every 4 days or so. Cant do threading, tried a few times horrendously painful as hair is so thick. Never again. I hate the thought of having to deal with this for the rest of my life but am resigned to it. I used Nair yesterday morning and can already feel a little stubble...

Belle1616 · 04/08/2017 19:39

Just had my threading done today! I'm blonde and have had blonde/white hair but lots of it plaguing me since I was a teen. I get my tasche, chin, and neck threaded every 2/3 weeks. I also pluck a bit in between. I wish laser worked on light hair!

FeralBeryl · 04/08/2017 19:41

Grin I have a designated 'coma team' for facial hair and also head hair root coverage.
We need to organise a clandestine national register for those of us more visited members of society, so we can be safe in the knowledge of stroke/coma that we won't turn into Brian Blessed.

Mine are getting worse, the chin ones snap then are impossible to grab. I couldn't go anywhere without tweezers. I recently flew and only had hand luggage, I had to call the friend we were staying with to go and buy me a pair of tweezerman tweezers just for the 3 day trip before we arrived. Shameful.

isaulte · 04/08/2017 19:41

littlewingsoul I've never had threading but reviews of the springy thing do say the sensation is similar. I didnt find it too awful but can confirm after 2 days on from a really good go with it, I don't have any rash/spots. I only paid £5.99 for it and you can get them even cheaper, so may be worth a go for you.

Isadora2007 · 04/08/2017 19:44

I shave every day. It's horrible but I can't wait for weeks with a full on beard between waxes. 😔

Auldspinster · 04/08/2017 19:50

I have a moustache and black hairs that sprout from my chin which I trim and tweezer. Leave the peach fuzz on my cheeks alone.

Wheelycote · 04/08/2017 19:55

Too flippin much

39 with stubbly chin, tash and for a bit of glamour a hair growing randomly out of my cheek. Tweeze ring is a almost daily requirement

MumBod · 04/08/2017 19:56

Fuckloads.

ophiotaurus · 04/08/2017 20:02

If you shave/wax the peach fuzz does it grow back darker or stay blonde?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/08/2017 21:36

If you shave it grows back bristly and unpleasant

`If you wax it stays soft

Nothing has changed the colour of my hairs, but mine are dark anyway

MargotLovedTom1 · 04/08/2017 21:44

Schadenfreude your typo made me laugh....

"we are led to believe that the only place a woman should have hair is on her head and her foot (and not even there sometimes!)..." Grin.

Also glad you linked to the 85p Epistick in case people are planning to order the £7.99 one.

Isadora2007 · 04/08/2017 21:55

NOt everyone can wait for it to grow in order to wax though SFP... Yes it is bristle-y and "unpleasant" but it can't be seen so that's the main thing for me.

If I leave it to grow to wax it, it depresses the hell out of me.

hooochycoo · 04/08/2017 22:11

Yeah I couldn't leave it to grow in order to do the laser treatment either. Too depressing. Daily tweezering here too. Can't bring my self to shave!

ophiotaurus · 05/08/2017 00:11

I think I'll leave the fuzz as is for now then.

Cinderllaspinkdresswasthebest · 05/08/2017 00:16

Thankfully I don't have any 'facial' hair as such - but I have my hairdresser razoring off my neck and top back hair cries

She says she's never come across someone as hairy as me but such light blonde hairs!

SylvesterTheCat · 05/08/2017 00:20

I'm so relieved to hear others have this problem too!!!!

Age 30ish when I went for eyebrow thread I was asked if I'd like an upper lip thread too. When I looked in the mirror I was horrified to see what the lady was referring to Sad

It's quite subtle so hoping I can just get away with it for now. In certain light and up close it's noticeable but I'm totally frightened to shave etc in case it regrows thicker.

StillMedusa · 05/08/2017 00:25

Armpits ..shave every day or if I am feeling brave, epilate.
Legs... shave daily or epilate (but get ingrown hairs after)
Chin... I don't notice until there is suddenly a Dali-esque tache!
Waging a war against my eyebrows but my foof gets a cursory trim once in a while!

The worst is the WHITE eyebrow hairs!!! How dare they?!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/08/2017 08:53

your typo made me laugh

Hahaha - yes -I didn't picket up until after another 20,000 posts had appeared and then thought i might have got away with it! Curse your eagle eyes Margot [grin}

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/08/2017 08:55

And they're as thick park railings Medusa

headinhands · 05/08/2017 09:37

If I didn't deal with it I would have a 'tache and goatee.

ChristmasFluff · 05/08/2017 10:24

I am extremely unhairy on the rest of my body, and have thin fine hair on my head, but I have a beard and moustache if I don't remove it (pluck daily), and also a really furry face. Peach fuzz implies too tiny a growth! The problem is that if I remove some fur, then I have to do my whole face or it would look really weird. I have done that once, and it was so cold - you don't realise how much the fuzz insulates you. The other thing is, the fur covers the wrinkles/jowls etc, and without it, I looked like a wrinkly plucked chicken!

I can confirm that if you shave the fuzz, it doesn't make it grow back dark, or thicker, or looking worse in any way, and it does make plucking the rest easier for a bit. But on balance I prefer to hide the wrinkles and jowly bits and stay cosy.
