"Feeling blessed".

OP posts:
AmIthatbloodycold · 04/08/2017 00:30

Name and shame. It conjours up images of a baying mob

Having once been on the receiving end of a work related rant on FB, with calls for name and shame, I can assure you that if they had named me, I had absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

Mamagin · 04/08/2017 05:35

You are all correct in everything you have said above.
However, nobody has mentioned 'uni'.
I hate it.
Sarnie.
Cuppa.
Bubba.
Mam.
Cheeky, when used instead of disobedient little fucker.

Ceto · 04/08/2017 05:51

Little man. Lil man should be a capital offence.
My boys/girls when referring to your cats or dogs
Reach out
You sound hard work
Wow, just wow
Across the piece

Saysomething88 · 04/08/2017 05:59

Meh.
Hate it. In reply to a long conversation or message etc.
So rude

SarahBeeney · 04/08/2017 07:50

I also hate....

'Cheeky' glass of wine before ........

Why is it cheeky? It's not illegal!

Bumpsadaisie · 04/08/2017 07:54

"in any way, shape or form"...

Aaarggghhhh. I can't put into words how much I HATE this phrase.

Bumpsadaisie · 04/08/2017 07:55

I've found my people on this thread!

Bumpsadaisie · 04/08/2017 07:58

"Sharing bag".

Arggh. Marketing ploy to sell people yet more c**p and make them feel better about the fact they're about to consume a kilo of M&Ms alone in the car.

MaisyPops · 04/08/2017 07:59

My boys/girls when referring to your cats or dogs
That reminds me of a new one -
Referring to yourself as mummy and daddy to your pets
Picture of your pet apparnetly calling you mummy and daddy
Birth announcements where the pet announces they're going to be a big brother/sister

Pets are lovely. They are not your children!
I feel better now.

MollyHuaCha · 04/08/2017 08:08

Love this thread. Next time I come across a newspaper article or social media post containing some of the above abominations, I shall picture us all wincing in unison.

tearsinmyeyes · 04/08/2017 08:20

Feeling blessed is hideous but I quite like the breastfeeding lingo

Ds falls asleep whilst breastfeeding .
It just sounds too long winded to say that . Boob to sleep is quick .
'He's on the boob ' is quick to say/ type.
It's not infantilising an everyday process using silly language - it's talking about an everyday process in everyday language .
'Breastfeeding ' is a mouthful compared to 'boob'.
Milky cuddles are milky cuddles . It's a unique expression for a unique experience.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 04/08/2017 08:33

I hate: "how's you?"

It irritates me intensely, along with pretty much all of the above.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 04/08/2017 08:34

"in any way, shape or form"...

Yes, yes, yes!!!

CosmicStrider · 04/08/2017 08:37

No, boobing, boob to sleep, milky cuddles, wanting the boob are all horrendous. Never acceptable. Ever.

Furbaby is also revolting.

Father/Daughter or Mother/son or whatever combination followed by Date Day is the worst I have ever seen. Trumps them all imo.

FrogsSitonLogs · 04/08/2017 08:46

'Breastfeeding ' is a mouthful compared to boob.

But why not just say you're feeding. Why the need to distinguish that you're feeding on the 'boob'? I really don't care how you feed your child or how they feed to sleep.

Bibs2014 · 04/08/2017 08:46

Ddog and Dcat on this site make me annoyed!

I also don't like 'I've found me people'.

Sorry!

Bibs2014 · 04/08/2017 08:46

*my

Chocolou · 04/08/2017 08:50

Mine has to be "turned around and said..."
I've a friend who uses this sentence so much every time I see her and can't help but feel she must be so bloody dizzy all the time with so much turning around.

She also uses "at the end of the day" and "to be fair". They equally get on my tits as much.

lemonzest123 · 04/08/2017 08:52

"perfectly acceptable"
"Tucked up in bed and fast asleep"

AmIthatbloodycold · 04/08/2017 09:04

Milky cuddles?

Never seen or heard of that. I wish I could unsee and unhear it though

WTF

MetallicBeige · 04/08/2017 09:12

"Milky cuddles are milky cuddles . It's a unique expression for a unique experience."

Sorry, no.

To think this is the most annoying combination of words in the world?
FrogsSitonLogs · 04/08/2017 09:14

Are 'milky cuddles' exclusive only to breastfeeders?

SpottedGingham · 04/08/2017 09:16

"To be fair" followed by a character assassination or defence of why unreasonable behaviour was justified

People who use a phrase like "crappy nappy" or "soggy botty" (some twee semi-rhyming phrase they've seen/made up) and look at you sideways while they say it so you can be amazed at their inventiveness. Though that could just be my ex-SIL for whom the "needs a good slap" phrase must have been invented. Blush

Notso · 04/08/2017 09:35

Milky cuddles are milky cuddles . It's a unique expression for a unique experience.
Feeding and cuddling a baby are hardly unique experiences.
