Hi guys! Wow I've just had a chance to come back on and noticed the last thread is full already?!

There also seems to be loads of people saying they're over it and don't believe me. That's fine, I'm not going to get into an argument with anyone. I had no idea that I would get so many responses when I initially asked for advice on this situation, however, they have really cheered me up through what has been a really crappy few days at points. Thanks all.

Sorry if ive pissed people off.

Anyway my Grandma has landed at the airport and should be with me in a couple of hours. It's not even that far away (she likes to take her time) Grin

Can't remember if we've already had the Lancashire flag - but just in case ...

I'm slightly disappointed the Yorkshire flag doesn't have tea on it

Or a flat cap. Grin

"The Garden of England" obligatory flag. Hopefully the garden reference won't annoy all the other lovely counties

East Sussex gazes jealously at Kent and sly annexes Sevenoaks while no-one is looking*

Noooo!! East Sussex must be our/Kents CFN lol

Beat coat of arms ever Fairfax - a martyr and a wild boar. Can't see anyone beating that.

Was he eaten by the boar? Did he tame it?

TO GOOGLE - UP, UP AND AWAAAAAAY!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/08/2017 09:36

Lovely, lovely flags!

We don't have one . . .

Cedilla · 02/08/2017 09:45

The flags are going on the Trello board, folks - might take a while, but they'll get there eventually Grin

TheLittleShirt · 02/08/2017 09:47

Is 'delurking' a real word? ( not placing market much)

Riverdale32 · 02/08/2017 09:47

Just read Schadenfreude's comment about flat cap as cat flap. Wondering why the Yorkshire flag would have a cat flap. I've spent far too much time glued to this thread it's playing havoc with my eyeballs....

flowergrrl77 · 02/08/2017 09:53

I'm actually really greedy in the flag dept. Cause I consider myself a Hertfordshire girl having been born there and lived till 20. Hi @Apocalyptichorsewoman

The following 18 years were spent in Essex, hi @FrankieStein

Sussex (E) would be my current one.

So, wattyyy do those doors open inwards or outwards? I am not sure it's been mentioned?

Did you make a sign that can be seen from the doors?

I'm the original Invicta Kent flag poster. I hadn't realised that E.Sussex was a trifle envious of Sevenoaks- you're welcome to it ( and "Royal" Tunbridge Wells ) Grin

And being rather thick, I've just realised you're referencing Wattyyyy's garden annexation.Blush in tandem with E.Sx and Kent's Sevenoaks.

I notice that we are perilously near the last page. Perhaps nominations for the title to Thread 9 could be made now so that Wattyyyy could choose one, unless of course, she has one of her own.

MissFitton · 02/08/2017 10:04

So lovely to be greeted by Vlad and Vanka first thing!
Two things (without wishing to derail the thread Hmm.

  1. here is my flag. and
  2. I have 17 eggs which need to be eaten up. What shall I make with them?

Checking in from Somerset after spending all my free time over the last 4 days reading and now I've finally caught up. Been a mumsnet lurker for years and this has finally made me join up.

Suggestion for next thread title:

The case of the mysterious northern couple

Housemum · 02/08/2017 10:20

Someone has already put a Hampshire flag up, so I shall instead give you a local landmark and an idea for a garden sculpture to go in front of the doors - here is the Wote Street Willy. Not actually called that but that's what it's known as locally for obvious reasons...

(love this quote from Sarah Brightman that I just found when googling for the pic - The sculpture - real name the Church Stone - cost £25,000. When it was unveiled in November 1994, singer Sarah Brightman, who was appearing at the Haymarket theatre at the time, said: "It's beautiful. As soon as I saw it I wanted to touch it." Grin )

Haha I'm loving all your flags!

Seeing as I don't really have an update apart from
NNDN constantly coming round to check on me (I think he's angling for some Spanish cooking lessons) I might just wait and post an update thread when I know what's happening/ have a resolution - I'll just call it "CFN thread #9" so it's easy to find!

Unless something major happens!

Thanks so much everyone Brew Cake
