CFN SpanGran has landed thread #8

WhatIsThisWatt · 31/07/2017 17:43

Hi guys! Wow I've just had a chance to come back on and noticed the last thread is full already?!

There also seems to be loads of people saying they're over it and don't believe me. That's fine, I'm not going to get into an argument with anyone. I had no idea that I would get so many responses when I initially asked for advice on this situation, however, they have really cheered me up through what has been a really crappy few days at points. Thanks all.

Sorry if ive pissed people off.

Anyway my Grandma has landed at the airport and should be with me in a couple of hours. It's not even that far away (she likes to take her time) Grin

Can we stop filling the thread up with recipes and stuff, start a new thread for cakes and songs etc, I want to read about the doors and CFN return, thanks

Cupcake99 · 01/08/2017 17:11

@MaverickSnoopy of course :)
3.5 cups of flour
1 cup of sugar
1Tbsp + 1tsp of baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Mix all dry ingredients together with 2.5 cups flour

Add: 3-4 ripe bananas
mix until consistent appearance

Add: 2/3 cup of butter
and 1/4 cup of milk

mix well, then add last cup of flour and mix until moistened.

Bake at 170-180°C for 40 mins in convection oven or 50 minutes in a conventional oven.

It is THE BEST banana bread recipe I have ever used :) soooo good!

SnickersWasAHorse · 01/08/2017 17:13

There can be a tie in cookbook to the film.
Ken's chicken casserole.
Watty's wonderful waffles.
SpanGran's paella.

In groups maybe...alt.fan.cfn, alt.fan.cfn.legal, alt.fan.cfn.announce??

:)

Recipes and food items are going on the Garden Thieves The Recipes but there may be a small processing delay (home from work, kids in bed etc).

Any dodgy links, missing items, mislabelled please let us know.

New to MN - you lot have unknowingly helped open my eyes to 'D'H's awful behaviour as I've lurked on threads and realised you would all be shouting LTB very loudly. This thread has given me moments of real joy over what has been another difficult weekend and I simply wanted to say an enormous thank you. Your support, wise words not to mention banter, creativity, song writing and casting have allowed me to LOL. I appreciate something upsetting in RL was the origins behind this thread, but you MNs have really made a difference.

DudeHatesHisCarryOut · 01/08/2017 17:21

LordDenning The recipes, songs and photos are what are making these threads so great! If you just want to read about the action I suggest you go to the Trello board, where all the happenings are listed together.

HicDraconis looked up the lolly cake and it looks fab. Just need to persuade my friendly Kiwis to go and visit their folks so that they can bring me back some Eskimo lollies!

Stillonthatbloodycomputer · 01/08/2017 17:23

Flipping heck this whole thread/ s have a life of their own, it's amazing

redfragglebiker · 01/08/2017 17:27

@HicDraconis You're in! Especially with a cake like that!

64PooLane · 01/08/2017 17:28

Aww, fizzandchips

I take no credit as I've hardly contributed anything to these threads, but I'm glad they have helped you CakeBrew

TheEmmaDilemma · 01/08/2017 17:28

May I just say that the Trello board is frankly, well, a step from any diagram, and let's be honest, we all love them.

That my friends, is a new level of dedication. As it the OP's updates.

I salute you all.

Engol · 01/08/2017 17:29

The only reason there's so many threads is because people are getting carried away and posting rubbish to try and fill them up and have yet another thread

It's an interesting story, I hope the op gets sorted and I enjoy her up dates but some sort of hysterical mania has taken over and ruined what was an interesting thread.
I can't see MN been able to put 9+ threads,
On one tale , into classics, which is a shame as the story is good.

TheEmmaDilemma · 01/08/2017 17:29

I had a bin one. The DP won't let me post it, it's far too identifying. Sad

Lorddenning1 · 01/08/2017 17:33

I angrier Engol, it was interesting at first and now it's turned into a village fate

Lorddenning1 · 01/08/2017 17:34

*agree

WoofWoofMooWoof · 01/08/2017 17:42

Awww Lord - the recipies and banter is part of what makes this thread so warm and interesting. We're all supporting I Whatty and having a laugh Grin.

MrsJ1205 · 01/08/2017 17:47

Just caught up! Glad SpanGran enjoying garden!

SchadenfreudePersonified Your Putin made me snort out loud on the bus - love it!

AcrossthePond55 · 01/08/2017 17:52

Ooh, since some are posting their flags, I want to share my Watty/ CFN thread version of my State flag.

CFN SpanGran has landed thread #8
MaverickSnoopy · 01/08/2017 17:58

Thanks @Cupcake99 that recipe looks epic and unlike any other.

OP love this thread....am actually wondering what I'm going to do with myself when this thread is over. Although like others i suspect this is going to take a long time to resolve.

Lynnm63 · 01/08/2017 18:09

Lord and Engol. The rest of us like the recipes and songs as does the OP. It has helped Wattyy retain her sanity through a horrid experience. If you don't like it just highlight the OP's post an ignore the rest.

UrsulaPandress · 01/08/2017 18:16

It reminds of the horses in the field threads by FuckyouChris. But there are more posters now.

Esspee · 01/08/2017 18:18

This is the first thread I have felt so completely at home on since joining Mumsnet. Clearly the length of it and the quality of contributions (I've cried with laughter so many times) has sifted out the Mumsnet members of like mind and intelligence. Huge congratulations to you all for your clever and witty contributions. OP, we are with you all the way. It must be an incredibly stressful time for you. Please take care of yourself.

bluejeanjeannie · 01/08/2017 18:19

Couldn't have said it better Lynnm63. No need to criticize, if you don't enjoy all the fun and banter just stick to the OP posts, the wonderful Trello board, or not view the threads. Simples, no?

Stillonthatbloodycomputer · 01/08/2017 18:25

Lord and engol if you don't like it or believe it why are you still here ?
