Hi guys! Wow I've just had a chance to come back on and noticed the last thread is full already?!

There also seems to be loads of people saying they're over it and don't believe me. That's fine, I'm not going to get into an argument with anyone. I had no idea that I would get so many responses when I initially asked for advice on this situation, however, they have really cheered me up through what has been a really crappy few days at points. Thanks all.

Sorry if ive pissed people off.

Anyway my Grandma has landed at the airport and should be with me in a couple of hours. It's not even that far away (she likes to take her time) Grin

@GaspodeWonderCat - I never knew that!!! Fabulous!

@C8H10N4O2 can we add a subsection on the trello board for county flags?

Here's mine for West Sussex!

@Esspee - I feel exactly the same x

masterchef98 · 01/08/2017 18:29

I'm enjoying this thread. It is the first thread on mumsnet that I have followed for days and I haven't read everything but it's nice to see people getting along and having a laugh. There is a serious and interesyinf matter behind it but i think (hope) that the style of ops post show that she is in the spirit of this as much as anyone else.

MrsHandles · 01/08/2017 18:31

Happy Yorkshire Day everyone! This is the flag of my people Grin even though I now live in the dirty south

Engol & lorddenning I completely agree with you both! I feel sorry for the op as her threads have been completely hijacked and filled with completely irrelevant rubbish like songs, recipes, breakfast pictures.

Op I know you have appreciated the support from everyone but surely you must feel this is getting out of hand? I just hope you manage to regain control of your threads as it's such a shame such a good thread has been hijacked in this way Flowers

gingergenius · 01/08/2017 18:36

@Lorddenning1 - nothing wrong with a village fete.
A village fate, on the other hand maybe altogether more sinister (think Simon Pegg in 'Hot Fuzz).

Anyhow, here's some bunting, Morris dancers and home-made marmalade vodka to keep you going!

Oops! Forgot the Morris dancers. That's where the CFBs are. I reckon they Morris dance during the summer at the local village fete. That's why their visits are so sporadic!

Ithastobeheinz · 01/08/2017 18:41

I'll just leave my county's flag for you Surrey.
Buddy can report for guard duty if needed although he might just bounce around the garden.

Dear lord. But I guess it wouldn't be AIBU without a few moaning minnies. If it doesn't interest you there's no legal requirement to comment!!! Honestly. If it's not your bag.....we get it! Walk On By (add that one C8)...it's not harming anyone. Even Wattyyyy can bail if she wants to and it will come to an end. Seriously, don't spoil it. It's a moment in time. That's all.

gingergenius · 01/08/2017 18:43

@LordWontYouBuyMeAMercedesBenz you're entitled to your opinion, of course, but I'm fairly sure the OP would have asked MNHQ to pull the threads if she felt they were being hijacked. I'm guessing, by the fact we're on thread 8, that neither the OP, nor MNHQ, feel this thread has been derailed, hijacked or otherwise ruined by the genuinely good natured banter and sense of community inspired by her awful situation.

We (and by we, I mean DH and I), are following this thread, and wishing for a SpanGran of our own, all the way from the great state of...

Too late...the picture's finally arrived 😂

Greetings from 'ampshire. Been here since day one and likely to be for the foreseeable future now that I've quit my job , divorced my husband and put my kids up for adoption for the purposes of watching this thread.

Come on, CFNS!

By the power of greyskull, may you get what's coming to you.

Cuppaoftea · 01/08/2017 18:59

Months of recipes and songs though? As that's how long the Op's difficult situation is likely to play out for, how many threads would that be.

Wouldn't it be better to let the thread slow down a bit and for relevant advice and a bit of banter in support be posted in reply to Op's updates as and when she makes them.

MadamePomfrey · 01/08/2017 19:00

If the op is unhappy I'm sure she will say or stop starting threads as she hasn't and really she is the only one that gets to moan! I do get it's not for everyone but that's the nature of mumsnet.

In more important news have I missed an update last I left before going to sleep after my nights spangran was sat in the garden monitoring the situation I believe??

Vango · 01/08/2017 19:04

If the OP decides to bow out of the thread at any time then I'm pretty sure that's exactly what she'll do cup. I've been lurking here since Mumsnet's inception and have never felt the need to go on a thread to advise people of the ridiculousness of their posting behaviour, tempting though it may have been at times. The OP has shown that she has all the real-life support that she needs, and she's clearly aware of the legal route that she has to follow so doesn't need any advice from us. It's just a bit of fun.

Lorddenning1 · 01/08/2017 19:08

I get it, everyone now feels like a sense of community and we have all been there since the beginning, don't get me wrong your a lovely bunch of people and I think there is a really good spirit between you all it's just she hasn't updated all day but there are still pages and pages of stuff, why don't you all make a new thread and share all ur stuff on there, (I know I'm probably going to get booed of the page) but I do think enough is enough and just wait until she updates, I know it's probably falling on deaf ears by this point Confused

gingergenius · 01/08/2017 19:08

Additionally, the momentum that this thread has seen will inevitably slow down to reflect the sloth-like pace of civil justice and the planning system, and the fact that we've all got real lives! We're just enjoying it while it lasts.
The the loomband craze.
Or Gangnam Style (which, I suspect, is the nearest we'll get to North Korea)

WhatIsThisWatt · 01/08/2017 19:08

Sorry for the delay everyone, I had to rush out due to a work related emergency (not building work) Wink

SpanGran stayed on lookout she hasn't even made any paella or sangria yet

By the sounds of it she accosted the poor postman about who might be living next door/ TELL ME A NAME ON THE LETTERS Confused oh dear.

He obviously didn't tell her anything. I shall try to catch him tomorrow and apologise!

So the letter outlines what has happened, why they are in the wrong, who has been informed (planning etc) and to under no circumstances enter my private property - followed by an explanation proving who owns what - ie FLAT A DOESNT HAVE A GARDEN AND FLAT B DOES. It's really simple, to the point and will hopefully be effective.

Sorry that some people don't like the thread! Sad Grin

@Lorddenning1 she has updated today!

gingergenius · 01/08/2017 19:09

@WhatIsThisWatt thanks for the info. The question is, do YOU like the thread?

AdalindSchade · 01/08/2017 19:10

cuppatea the threads will slow down eventually, when people lose interest. No need to force the issue.

Vango · 01/08/2017 19:12

ginger and C8 - they are watching in North Korea you know, they're just not allowed to tell us. Add the flag.

Lorddenning1 · 01/08/2017 19:12

Thanks for that :) I like the thread really, I'm not trying to be an arse, I have laughed at all the jokes etc, I just think over the last 24 hrs people have gotten carried away (I know ring the fun police)
