Hi guys! Wow I've just had a chance to come back on and noticed the last thread is full already?!

There also seems to be loads of people saying they're over it and don't believe me. That's fine, I'm not going to get into an argument with anyone. I had no idea that I would get so many responses when I initially asked for advice on this situation, however, they have really cheered me up through what has been a really crappy few days at points. Thanks all.

Sorry if ive pissed people off.

Anyway my Grandma has landed at the airport and should be with me in a couple of hours. It's not even that far away (she likes to take her time) Grin

Would your ex landlord /ex owner be any help telling you of any previous garden take over bids , or did he perhaps own the next door flat at any time

Lweji · 01/08/2017 15:02

You really need to build a stone bench right under their window/door.

Maybe install CCTV and point it at the offending door.

MintToBee · 01/08/2017 15:04

A little afternoon snack. Homemade elderflower cordial with homemade blackcurrant jam anyone?

@schadenfreude - You're at it again with Vlad & Vanka! I love you! I'm seeing a big Scooby Doo reveal at the end!!!

ShotsFired · 01/08/2017 15:16

@Paddingtonsmarmaladesandwiches No thanks Cupcake99. Too full after my paella for lunch

I had 2 day out of date (use by date) beef curry for lunch. Thought of the gasps of horror and hurrying away of small children from MNers far and wide as I chowed down....

I am still alive so far.

(sorry to OP for minor derailing)

toldmywrath · 01/08/2017 15:19

Ooh I love elderflower cordial. How is it you make it please @MintToBee ?

64PooLane · 01/08/2017 15:20

WoofWoofMooWoof · 01/08/2017 15:21

I can't believe how long this thread has been running, I have been trying to read it from the beginning but keep literally losing the thread! So many talented people getting involved, I am in awe!

putdownyourphone · 01/08/2017 15:25

Hate to be that person but please could someone give a brief summary of where we are? I missed the last thread completely! Blush

Foreverhopeful22 · 01/08/2017 15:25

Instead of cctv you can get one of these £40 off Amazon. You use your phone, pad or computer to monitor it also it records and even better you can talk through it

I use mine for my baby and it's bloody brilliant I also have another two set up to look outside back door -

More cake anyone?

LaurieFairyCake · 01/08/2017 15:33

They pretended not to speak English when you went over to see them ShockShockShock

Are they claiming they were just doing it up to sell on?

Just omg

MsPavlichenko · 01/08/2017 15:34

I too have wondered about the previous owner/landlord. To begin with I was anxious he had scammed you in some way re selling garden rights to neighbours, but clear with your papers/lawyers that is not the case. Might it be worth checking with him/her, via lawyer whether any attempts made recently to get/buy garden access?

Sprockermum · 01/08/2017 15:35

Dho! Cakes on its way

@MintToBee are you in aberdeenshire? I spy granite. That jam looks delicious.

Lynnm63 · 01/08/2017 15:39

@Rugratwrangler I thought more like the polar bear stalking the seal who popped up decided he was too faraway, swam underwater a bit and popped up further away. CFB could end up in one of the other gardens.

prettybird · 01/08/2017 15:43

So, what does the strongly worded letter from the lawyer say?

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 01/08/2017 15:46

Right, folks, get practising:

Massed ranks of formation castanet percussion, to defend OP's garden boundaries.

No idea what Spanish phrases they're shouting ( Schaden, over to you for a translation? Wink), but no doubt Abuela could offer up a few sweary alternatives of her own...

MintToBee · 01/08/2017 15:49

toldmywrath
15 heads of elderflower
500g caster sugar
4 tablespoons quality runny honey
2 unwaxed lemons

Place the sugar and honey in a large saucepan with 1 litre of water. Gently bring to the boil, until all the sugar has dissolved, then remove from the heat.
Finely grate in the lemon zest and add the elderflower upside down, making sure the flowers are completely submerged
Squeeze in the juice from one of the lemons, then slice the other and add it to the pan, too. Pop the lid on and leave to one side to infuse for 24-48 hours. My best batch was left for three days.
When you’re ready , strain your cordial, through a fine sieve with muslin over a large bowl.
Store in sterilised bottles or jars and drink diluted with water, soda or Prosecco and Gin.
You can also freeze it in tubs and just scoop it out. It's fabulous over icecream.
I also pour it over lemon cake to make an elderflower lemon drizzle cake.
I also freeze the lemons from the Cordial to throw into drinks.

SprinkleOfInsanity
South Ayrshire.
It's a very old farmhouse built with a mixture of granite and sandstone. Well spotted!
