Hi guys! Wow I've just had a chance to come back on and noticed the last thread is full already?!

There also seems to be loads of people saying they're over it and don't believe me. That's fine, I'm not going to get into an argument with anyone. I had no idea that I would get so many responses when I initially asked for advice on this situation, however, they have really cheered me up through what has been a really crappy few days at points. Thanks all.

Sorry if ive pissed people off.

Anyway my Grandma has landed at the airport and should be with me in a couple of hours. It's not even that far away (she likes to take her time) Grin

@IloveBanff haha not very, my DP family are all from up North and still have their accents, MIL in particular says "mam". I think Ds finds it easier to say mama. He does go from "mum" to "mama" to "mamu" quite a bit. No idea why he says "mamu"

TheMaddHugger · 01/08/2017 13:01

Checking in

MetalMidget · 01/08/2017 13:20

I'm hoping that the planners really get their arse into gear!

MissFitton · 01/08/2017 13:22

Excellent work SchadenfreudePersonified - the talk of breakfast vwodka puts me in mind of Bernard Black and his breakfast wines. Perhaps Ken is actually Bernard? Or more possibly Manny.

Banff - I too am Mama to my dcs and I am in no way posh. I can't actually remember why I'm Mama and not Mum but I can assure you it has nothing to do with breakfast wine.

Sayhellotothelittlefella · 01/08/2017 13:34

watt if CFN do push over your bench and as a result smash the flower pots that you have placed on it then they will have caused criminal damage in the process of trying to enter your property. That would definitely be a police matter

mumof06darlings · 01/08/2017 13:39

I would give the planning lady a ring to see what their course of action is or what the proper channels are from their side-you would have a right to know that (I assume)

gingergenius · 01/08/2017 13:43

Ooh @Sayhellotothelittlefella good thinking!

redfragglebiker · 01/08/2017 13:52

@NorthCoast - Yep you! If there are any other Haka dancing, toblerone loving, Mark Harmon fancying, CFN bashing MNetters that need overnight digs whilst we plan our attack then let me know - At this rate I'm hiring us a marquee! Grin

WhatIsThisWatt · 01/08/2017 13:54

mumof06 I'm not sure! Planning have been VERY helpful, however, I'm not sure how much I actually have a right to know anything. After all, what they are concerned about is the damage that's been done to the building and not really my garden or anything (rightly so)

However I'm going to send them a quick email anyway Grin

So I've missed 2 thread's worth of pages since Saturday!

I'm in Spain on 3G. Could someone be so lovely as to PM me a summary?

Hope you're all having a lovely Tuesday free of dodgy CFNs

WashBasketsAreUs · 01/08/2017 13:57

It occurred to me that it was very well timed by the CFBs that both times they turned up you weren't in. Fair enough, during the week you could reasonably expected to be out at work. However, unless you regularly are not in on a Saturday morning, funny how they turned up then? If you are regularly out/ at work at that time, how did they know? And if you're not, how did they know you wouldn't be there? Do you have a regular schedule of being in/ out?
I second the idea of going out, taking SpsnGran with you, making a big show of it, telling Ken you're out and to keep an eye out etc etc. Give it half an hour or so then sneak back. Bet you'll catch them back at the neighbours then!

Twistmeandturnme · 01/08/2017 13:59

@WhatIsThisWatt as you are around: have you contacted your freeholder and insurance company yet? They should be going into bat as we speak.
It is irritating that the neighbours still haven't shown up yet, but in all fairness it's probably less awkward for you if everything can be done in writing. Hopefully the builders have gone for good now (until they come to correct the window!).

Slimthistime · 01/08/2017 14:01

well everyone fancies Mark Harmon.

I didn't realise planning wouldn't help with your garden being accessed. Then again, I think the police ought to help with that.

bluejeanjeannie · 01/08/2017 14:30

Help, my head hurts. I'm trying to keep up to date with the threads and reading every single line in case I miss something and also learning how to use Trello. It's not good for my out of date practice brain. Plus I guess I am now officially unlurked as this is my second post, gasp, horror. I may have to start writing more messages.

I haven't had time to even glance at any other items on MN, except for the glorious EKL since Saturday. My life will never be the same. Goes off stage singing Oh Happy Day...tra la la

SinfulRevenge · 01/08/2017 14:34

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 01/08/2017 14:39

I think the carefully placed heavy bench is a good idea. Makes a not very subtle point!

Foreverhopeful22 · 01/08/2017 14:44

What have your insurance company said?
