I reckon the owners are related to the builders/are one of the builders, have had a panic when they realised the 'new neighbour' is just the old neighbour and are now shitting listed Bricks about what they're going to do!

I've been following this thread for days. Only reading OP posts. Taken hours just scrolling lol. I am desperate to see the outcome. I was going to say early on that I think the builders are the developers hence their reaction when you confronted them, but I'm sure that's already been mentioned. If you have a google you will be able to see when, and how much the property went for. You might be able to find estate agent too. Give estate agent a ring and they might be able to give you some more information.

Another Scot checking in for duty here. Loving all the poems and songs. Absolute genius. If my DDog had still been alive I would have volunteered him for guard duty. He was a very badly abused 4 year old when I got him. He recovered well enough to be a huge cuddle monster to the family and friends he knew and loved but did not tolerate strangers at all and had to be muzzled when out and about. He would keep the garden well clear of builders.

All I can think of is that talent and intellect, no matter how great, are not always commercially viable.

It's a cruel world.

Do you have any contact with the old neighbours? They might have more information on who actually bought it??
Do you know who your freeholder is? With flats there's either one person who owns the whole thing or a commitee made up of all the flat owners so that things like roof etc can be sorted.

I wander how long this will actually go on for if CFN never comes back!

Do you have to go to work tomorrow? Is there anyone who can mind the flat? Or get those cctv cameras up that let you know when they detect movement. (Or just get a gang of mumsnetters to loiter and take notes!)

• a their own house hiding out trying to think if enough time passes, things will rectify themselves
• they haven't a clue what has happened & how much trouble they are in
• after checking into a hotel trying to keep out of sight and away from the place
• in the flat itself locked in afraid to even move an inch and Ken is actually supplying them with good/wine in the dead of night
