because they couldn't have exited through a wall anyway!

Well, apart from through the window, obviously.

Before anyone gets really upset - the reason there is a Union Jack next to Scotland and wales is that I couldn't immediately find the correct emoji.. will be fixed. I see I've forgotten Cyprus. Shout out/PM if there are any others.

Can I say that that Trello board will make a fabulous backdrop when the RSC tour the world all major theatres with "Cheeky Fuckers: a " Tale of Greed, Entitlement, Love, One and Duct Tape" With Guest contributions by William Shakespeare, Gilbert and Sullivan, Richard Wagner and Johann Sebastian Bach* on the Spoons"

*When I contacted the others via the ether using my Weejie Board, Bach and Elgar were in the pub with them having an arm wrestling match. Both wanted to be part of the glory, but Elgar wanted to compose something suitably majestic. He'll try to get it done in time, but can't promise.

Morning all. Was checking in from a&e as the lovely hospital had wifi (after adventurer Ds came a cropper...he's fine now bless)

I have to agree with pp. I don't think gorilla tape is a good idea. The thing about the cable ties is that they secure the doors - but they don't leave any damage. That tape is lethal and is bound to cause damage to their (admittedly illegal doors) best to keep the moral high ground and give them no ammo imo

Hope you're ok op and had a lovely nights rest. Please update us on the blossoming relationship too

*I can't think what the autocorrect put "one" in in place of.

Can everyone stop speculating on whether OP has the right to "block a fire exit"? BY LAW, there is supposed to be a WALL there. So OP is not preventing them from exiting in case of a fire, because they couldn't have exited through a wall anyway!

THANK YOU! It wasn't ever a fire exit, just a window.

LML83 · 30/07/2017 08:58

Of course it isn't a fire exit. And I would hope by law there would be no issue.

...in a practical sense though if there was a fire and the occupants were injured the OP (being a decent human being) would feel awful and no amount of 'Well it was meant to be a wall' would make her feel better.

SoupDragon · 30/07/2017 08:59

It wasn't ever a fire exit, just a window.

Which, nevertheless, was an exit in case of Fire.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/07/2017 08:59

and Mablethorpe...never forget Mablethorpe

We'll always have Mablethorpe Marilyn

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/07/2017 09:00

Yeah, that's going to be believable

Maybe - but there's nothing provable, either.

faithinthesound · 30/07/2017 09:01

The Saga of the CFN and the Door That Was Never Supposed To Be Tagline: We'll always have Mablethorpe.

DameDaffodil · 30/07/2017 09:01

Delurking to wave from the Highlands of Scotland, not quite as exotic as some of the other places mentioned! Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/07/2017 09:02

That was supposed to be a Canadian flag

`then we forgive you.

(Who doesn't love the Canadians?) Smile

gingergenius · 30/07/2017 09:02

Waving from the Sussex coast here!

DartmoorDoughnut · 30/07/2017 09:03

soup its on them to prove her guilt not her to prove her innocence

bluediamonds · 30/07/2017 09:03

Dame - but beautiful all the same!! [Smile]

Vango · 30/07/2017 09:04

Come on everyone, let's not frighten poor Wattyyyy.

No-one is in residence right now so there's no danger to her neighbours. Maybe the tape wasn't the wisest idea but at least the builders will now have to knock for access before carrying on with any further work. She'll just have to be brave and be prepared to answer the door!

faithinthesound · 30/07/2017 09:06

Okay unrelated but I just googled Croatia and it's gorgeous.

SoupDragon · 30/07/2017 09:06

soup its on them to prove her guilt not her to prove her innocence

Well, let's hope none of them use Mumsnet.

Oh, and have the DM picked this up yet?

bluediamonds · 30/07/2017 09:07

just testing something out - ignore me!

DartmoorDoughnut · 30/07/2017 09:08

Oh for goodness sake this is why CFNs get away with it, they are accessing her garden illegally and have destroyed a window in a listed building! Who gives a fuck if their doors are taped up so they can no longer access private property?!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/07/2017 09:08

I'm in Gateshead Daffodil - doesn't get much more exotic than that! Grin.

Re: the original window - it may not have been an opening window. Not all windows are.

Anyway - what is done is done. We'll worry about CFN's reaction if and when we need to.

SoupDragon · 30/07/2017 09:09

but at least the builders will now have to knock for access before carrying on with any further work. She'll just have to be brave and be prepared to answer the door!

Yeah, because opening the door to "6" pissed of builders is just what a "vulnerable young woman" would want to do (quotes from an earlier post)

Colinfarrellsarse · 30/07/2017 09:09

Morning from Dublin Smile

Im afraid I agree that you should remove the tape sharpish. Keep the high ground op. I also would worry about the fire exit issue. Even though it may not have been a fire exit before you just dont know what could happen. What if for some reason they couldnt access the fire exit and that door/ window was their only exit? Id worry myself sick about that.
