Thank you @sparechange. I do remember the blur song now and feel very, very stupid for not figuring it out myself.
@SchadenfreudePersonified I take your farty Great Dane and raise you a flatulent St Bernard. 🇨🇭🐶💨🙊

QueenOfThorns · 29/07/2017 22:37

Jam, I have a feeling she may be dead Sad

prettybird · 29/07/2017 22:38

I like the idea of plain wallpaper stuck to their window. Leave a hole exactly the size and position of the missing window so that they can still see out - and of course make sure that they can't open the patio doors because of things in the way Wink

Looking on the plus side WhatiathisWatt: think of all the new virtual friends you have made through this - some of whom could if you want them to become RL friends Smile. Plus it's been an opportunity for you to get to know your NNDN and NSK Smile(and WineWink)

I hate posting without RTFT but I've been reading from the start and can't scroll fast enough to ever get to the end!

Anyway, in the Round Up email from MNHQ this morning, it said that Thread#2 had 118,752 views!

Just thought you'd like to know that.

QueenOfThorns · 29/07/2017 22:38

Oh, no she isn't, no idea where that came from. Wish she was my granny!

Collectorofcookbooks · 29/07/2017 22:38

Been following this all day and now I'm home with decent wifi I'm delurking to let you know this is going to cost CFN dearly.

We live in a listed house and it's taken nearly 2 years to gain permission to replace 4 windows (that the previous owners ripped out without permission in the 1980's) and the new ones, which are copies of the originals, handmade out of the right wood, with all the shutters and special heritage standard glass, cost £10k. Each.

We had to have visits and permission to continue work every step of the way. God knows what would have happened if we hadn't done what Historic England wanted, our Conservation Officer is fierce!

So it's going to be an extremely expensive set of doors...

ArDali1 · 29/07/2017 22:39

This is how I feel right now.......
I would really like to sit with NSK and keep a look out for you.

I've added the fierce hound above to the board as the initial volunteer in the OPPUV (OP Protection Unit Volunteers).

Any more doggy volunteers? Assuming all cats will remain on walls playing chess.

ArDali1 · 29/07/2017 22:40

Don't know if my picture uploaded.....

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the Round Up email from MNHQ and how may I view such a thing? Is it posted anywhere, or is it sent out only?

Doesitgoto11 · 29/07/2017 22:41

@C8H10N4O2 I'd not count on it I've a supremely disgruntled long haired ginger mog who would quite happily scratch eyes out at the moment after being in her carrier for about 9 hours today 😳

Cakeorchocolate · 29/07/2017 22:41

Yikes haven't had time to read #5 yet. Stupid headaches. Can't imagine it's anything to do with being glued to all these CF threads!!! Hmm

LazySusan11 · 29/07/2017 22:42

I can send several feral teenagers your way if you need extra bouncing bodies.

Neverknowing · 29/07/2017 22:43

So excited to see what Spanish grandma says! Did you remind her to bring her paella pan?!

ShellyBoobs · 29/07/2017 22:43

OP, you need something like this little cctv camera thing.

CCTV camera

You can watch the goings on from your phone AND you can speak via the camera thing to whoever you can see!

So you could tell the CFBs to get the fuck out of your garden that you can are watching them.

@Doesitgoto11 Good point but if she knew you actually wanted her to be a guard cat would she still do it?? Mine would likely let the dogs do the work and then claim all the credit!

Happy to add wild eyed moggies to the OPPUV as well!

EmmaJR1 · 29/07/2017 22:48

I have a super cute ginger licky dog and a 3 month old chunky DS that has a 1000 decibel cry when he's hungry if it will help? Also currently have a DH snoring at 10000 decibels - can I pitch him in your garden just to get some peace please???

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 29/07/2017 22:48

I'm going away camping for a week tomorrow with no internet access

OP please please don't pull the threads, I'm really looking forward to reading them when I get back the only thing that might make camping in the rain for a week bearable

AlletrixLeStrange · 29/07/2017 22:49

Lynn (sorry to derail) but that dog is beautiful!! I want one sooooooo bad!!!! I love your dog. Sorrynotsorry.

C8H10N4O2 · 29/07/2017 22:49

@Lynnm63 Duly added along with a note regarding his special skill!

Staceypreston32 · 29/07/2017 22:50

We have Arlo wireless cameras, the picture quality is fab and the cameras are motion activated. Put one in your garden and if anyone (builders or CFNs) go outside, you'll get an immediate alert to your phone and be able to watch the footage live and record it. Maybe one outside your front door looking over their door too?

safariboot · 29/07/2017 22:51

Wow. This has been an epic, and the thread I joined MN to throw peanuts post in.

I agree with the idea of putting something Big and Heavy blocking the doors. A nice iron bench perhaps, or maybe some massive planters. As some others have mentioned, don't count on the doors being removed any time soon, there's a ton of bureaucracy and in any case the council can order what they like but if the CFNs don't have the money to fix it then they can't fix it.

And thinking about the bill the CFNs are going to be facing, even though it's their own damn fault I can only think ouch. There's screwups, and then there's expensive screwups.

Also, the worst case scenario 'resolution' has occurred to me - imagine if the listed building folks come back and say the building never had permission to be turned into flats in the first place and must be reverted to one premises Shock.

Lynnm63 · 29/07/2017 22:51

I'm afraid he's a she whose currently snoring so loudly in the hall I can hear her through a closed door.
