julie you need to be on the desktop site to change the settings to highlight the OP's posts. However you can view and use the desktop site from a mobile device. Scroll to the very bottom of your page on the mobile site and you will see a clickable link for the desktop site. Then you go into Talk and choose customisation and the options are there.

This has to be the funniest thread from the most unfunny situation ever

My DH knew a garden thief some time ago. A guy from DH's work lived in a council house and when his old neighbours moved out the house was left empty for a while to repair and redecorate for the new tenants. During this time said garden thief removed all the fence panels to about half way down the garden and then re-instated them horizontally across NDN garden. Thereby halving the size of NDN garden and giving himself a large L shaped garden extending behind NDN's. It stayed like that for the remainder of the time that he lived there ( I heard he moved a little while ago - here's hoping someone nicked his garden before he moved in)

It's lucky in a way that OP's flat is in a listed building. What would have happened if it wasn't and CFN had put in doors that open inwards?? I think that would have made things far more complex.

As for the iOS app, if you swipe left on the thread title (blue background) you have the option to watch the thread. Swipe left on the last post (or whatever post you're up to) and you have the option to bookmark. If you do that, then go back out of the thread, next time you go into the thread it takes you straight to the post you bookmarked.

Neat thing is, if you bookmark on the iOS app, it syncs between that and the main site! So you can bookmark on the app and then open up He site on your laptop and be taken right to where you left off!

The thread could close with OP and EKL sitting silently together on matching deck chairs with steaming pots of noodles staring into the sunset and surrounded by calm.

We need a proper HQ to co-ordinate this thread now (plus past and future ones). Preferably with a nice big wall so we can stick up lots of bits of paper and draw meaningful arrows and question marks, like all TV detectives do.

Mumsnetters can man phones, make and supervise the and stores while OP gets on with her important business. Meanwhile, another team can work the phones to agents, getting on with the casting for the film (incidentally, shouldn't we get Nick Frost in there somewhere for a bit of comedy?)

I love the idea of a Thread HQ. Shouldn't there also be a team co-ordinating the collecting of monetary contributions and their expenditure on appropriate equipment for the Thread's OP (in this case mooning gnomes / fences on castors / adorable planter benches)?

I know a really nice garden we can hang out in. I mean it belongs to someone but fuck it, they can share. I already build a door to it. I reckon when the owner pops out we can remove her door, replace it with the window I took out, then gas light her by saying it was our garden all along. I think it's a brilliant plan. Can't think what could possibly go wrong.

It's weird that the CFNs have apparently left this random builder to put in a French window and buggered off for DAYS. I mean any time I have workmen in, I do keep an eye on them.
