As a general rule, it is wise not to get too invested in outlandish, fast moving threads on Mumsnet

There's nothing outlandish about this one. I've had personal experience of similar behaviours and have heard of plenty of others. It's fast-moving because the OP is taking the whole thing in good heart and it hasn't degenerated into a witch hunt. The OP knows that she has the law on her side and the thread could happily have ended there. Instead, we've all jumped on the comedy bandwagon and are enjoying imagining the film adaptation. There's no need to participate if it's not your bag.

Start thread 5 and you'll be the OP again
