CFN patio doors onto my private garden thread #3

Wattyyyy · 28/07/2017 12:22

Okay I thought I'd start this for when they inevitably show their faces!!

Sorry all the threads have different titles Confused

I have a slight update - I managed to catch the nice neighbour at the other side (I think he'd heard the commotion and was loitering about waiting for me Grin )

He was gobsmacked! Apparently he's lived here for thirty years and has never heard anything like it. I told him I'd keep him updated and he asked if i wanted to come in for a cup of tea, I politely declined hahahah. Glad I now have a nice normal neighbour on my side!

I wonder where the neighbours are. Hopefully they'll come home and give you the opportunity to provide us with updates about them looking sheepish in their kitchen, which they've given you a good view of, whilst not causing any bother.

Wattyyyy · 28/07/2017 18:26

I can't believe how popular this has been, just shown my friend and she is Shock

Yes to pp I have phoned insurance and lawyer so will have to wait till Monday to hear back now.

I'm also just off the phone to my lovely Spanish grandma who still lives over there and have given her the SHORT!! version of what's been going on. She went on a very fast rant in Spanish none of which I managed to catch, the gist I think was that she's going to fly over to England to see me so WIN!

She'll set CFN straight!

I cant believe how many new threads there have been on this. Place marking to keep up to date with anything new Grin

Vango · 28/07/2017 18:30

listed buildings, missing neighbours, planning officials, a real-life land grabber and Spanish grannies. What's not to like?

SenecaFalls · 28/07/2017 18:30

Smile at the DHs and DPs wanting constant updates. I'm on vacation in a lakeside cottage in upstate NY with a bunch of folks keeping up with the OP's saga through me. Between that and all the news coming out of our nation's capital, we are being entertained while it's too cold and rainy to go outside.

Best of luck, OP. We once had a neighbor try to install their new septic tank too close to our well. Luckily for us the powers-that-be were on our side as they appear to be on yours.

troodiedoo · 28/07/2017 18:32

I'd expect a call from channel 5 nightmare neighbours from hell if I were you OP.

Sunshineboo · 28/07/2017 18:32

This is shocking! I have a horrid feeling that the neighbours did not know this was going on - like a mistake somehow.... now that would be a twist and a half!

Hope you have a nice night with your friend with no nastiness from next door

MaxPepsi · 28/07/2017 18:32

Go Spanish Grandma Grin

Never mess with a beloved Grandchild is my motto in life. I never had a nana but my mum is one and she seriously kicks ass!

IamaBluebird · 28/07/2017 18:33

Wattyyyy hope you have a quick resolution to this and enjoy your garden.
Hello fuckyouchris, aderynlas here reincarnated as I'm a Bluebird. Wine

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 28/07/2017 18:33

Hurray for Spanish Grandma!

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 28/07/2017 18:33

I can't stop thinking about Barry from Eastenders calling Janine "me Julie".

Vango · 28/07/2017 18:33

I'm picturing this film set in Oxford btw. And the weather is sunny. And Olivia Coleman is full of angst.

FunctionalAnatomy · 28/07/2017 18:34

I'm now imagining OPs Spanish granny chasing CFNs and hurling listed bricks at them Grin

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 28/07/2017 18:34

Hello, aderyn! (And everyone else who has waved on this very quick paced thread who I've failed at namechecking Blush)

bemusedmoose · 28/07/2017 18:34

Game is on - OP has pulled out Spanish Nana!! No one messes with a Spanish Nana. Go Nana, Go Nana...

FUNM · 28/07/2017 18:34

You should have a Fancy Dress Festival and make everyone dress up as:

  1. a type of door
  2. a type of window
  3. CFN
  4. One of those people from the planning office - lovely lady, 12 yr old lad and the other one lol
  5. Piece of original brickwork

This has been my favourite thread since joining mumsnet!! Please Wattyyyy keep us posted, I want to hear what happens when you confront the CFN.
Maybe us MNetters should go down there and give a word to CFN on behalf of Wattyyyy

Mummyoflittledragon · 28/07/2017 18:39

Dear spammer,

67 what? Yen? Buttons?

I just don't know what use 19243 buttons every month would be. Apart from to make a giant mosaic to cover a pair of unwanted french windows.
