To think Grimms Rainbow is the wankiest toy?

60 quid?!?!?!

For ten ish curves of wood painted in each of the rainbow colours. For a small child. To no doubt try to shove up their nose or wedge down the loo.

I do not understand how this item is worth anywhere near 60 quid, and it has got to bw something the parents buy to try and win cred or something?

They look fab, thanks for the pics! That’s true about the re sale. I will need to pop into my local
TK Maxx!

nowater34 · 05/03/2018 21:24

tbf we have probably spent £100 on paw patrol crap that won’t last!

MillyMolly123 · 05/03/2018 21:37

@nowater34 Exactly! We were in Mothercare yesterday and I spotted a garish, crappy, cheap, flimsy looking toy pram/car seat/cot set for £60 - it didn’t look like it would last 2 minutes, it certainly wouldn’t be in any fit state to sell on once a child had played with it for a bit. People who think this is better value for money than a Grimm’s rainbow, for example baffle me. Fuzzy logic in my eyes, but hey ho!

Quality over quantity every time for me.

PorkFlute · 05/03/2018 21:41

I like open ended toys and I think it’s a nice toy that would encourage lots of different types of play. I’d be buggered if I was paying 60 quid for it though! I’d get a cheaper version or second hand.

NotAnotherJaffaCake · 05/03/2018 21:44

There are lots of German websites which have all the Grimm toys and Osterheimer animals etc in stock, and the price in Euros is pretty much the price in pounds, so cheaper as well. I’ve used www.echtkind.de/ before.

PragmaticMama · 06/03/2018 16:49

so your toddler made that beautifully stacked tower then did they @MillyMolly123 riiiight LOL. Toys shouldn't be over-engineered. The GenNeu toys one I bought is different, sure (smaller, brighter colours), but we're getting a lot of use out of it.

MillyMolly123 · 06/03/2018 17:10

@PragmaticMama Erm, nope - but I never said he did. He did enjoy adding bits to it and he can make some pretty good Tegu vehicles by himself. In time he will be able to make towers like the one in the picture, so a toy that will last for years. Not really sure what the problem is Hmm

oppsthereshegoes · 06/03/2018 17:18

@PragmaticMama wow. Bitchy much?!

oppsthereshegoes · 06/03/2018 17:19

Tegu are anything but over engineered

MillyMolly123 · 06/03/2018 17:28

@oppsthereshegoes So very true on both counts Grin

We have the Grimms giant rainbow, the £500 one. It's big enough to climb on/crawl under and the kids like it. However, I won it. I would never spend that amount of money on it. It's hollow to start with, not solid wood. £500 is definitely paying for the brand. I am pleased I won though.

I've managed to comment twice on here 😂
