Couldn't remember the title of the last one so thought that'd do!

No sign of them at all, went out and looked through and all the lights are off, definitely not in. WTF IS GOING ON????

Even if the NDNs were just stupid innocents, the builders certainly aren't. Given the OP's description of the clear panic they displayed, and that they scarpered, never to return, they knew there were issues here.

Bluntness100 · 27/07/2017 21:32

There is no way they didn't know it's listed, no way at all. I wonder if they just thought they'd get away with it. Saw others with a door into garden and thought If they can have one then so can we and went for it.

It's literally going to cost them thousands upon thousands. To end up where they started, It's so monumentally stupid. I think that's why it's so fascinating.

64PooLane · 27/07/2017 21:33

We had an issue with some local planning, took eight years to sort out

Gosh don't say that - poor OP must be stressed enough!

I want to know where all the other residents of the surrounding flats are. Surely some of them are home now and have seen the damage from their own windows? If I were any of them I'd be out looking for a neighbour to exchange WTFs with and say things like "have you ever spoken to them (the cheeky fuckers)?" "No, me neither" etc.

annielouise · 27/07/2017 21:33

SchadenFreunde - i don't think the woman with the pillar problem neighbours ever came back. they were cheeky bastards too.

This is the fastest moving thread I've ever seen.

HappenedForAReisling · 27/07/2017 21:34

I really wish those WERE your doors and that WAS your garden.

Girty999 · 27/07/2017 21:34

Get a 'no exit' sign and stick it on their shiny new door facing inwards lol x

Miserylovescompany2 · 27/07/2017 21:34

I think the CFN'S should have their fugly door bricked up entirely! Their grabby entitledness should cost them an entire once window - tis only fair!

On a more serious note: the shoddy work that took a mere few hours is going to take months to put right!

Personally, if I were you, OP - I'd seek compensation. Your property ain't ever going to be "as was" again!

CaveMum · 27/07/2017 21:35

Shameless Placemark.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/07/2017 21:36

I think they've gone to Benidorm for a fortnight, fondly imagining that by the time they get back, the OP will have moved out and the "new" neighbours arrived, who will be none the wiser.

If you buy a listed building, the estate agent AND your solicitor make it abundantly clear to you what you cannot do to the property.

1stDinkyDecker · 27/07/2017 21:37

64 it wasn't a case of CFN, it was a CF business who thought they could get away with something that was completely wrong. Must have cost him a fortune trying to win his case, and then he went and lost.

64PooLane · 27/07/2017 21:37

^yes!

The behaviour and psychology of the cheeky fucker is endlessly interesting.

It would be good material for a big Attenborough series on BBC1, with thoughtful voiceovers and night camera footage of cheeky fuckers in the wild.

AlpacasPackOwls · 27/07/2017 21:37

Your house sounds beautiful OP. I'm very jealous.

UniqueAsAUnicorn · 27/07/2017 21:38

Shock cheekiest of fuckers!

Mumzypopz · 27/07/2017 21:40

Can't bookmark, so placemark

⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️

Pitching up for updates.

HolyShmoly · 27/07/2017 21:41

Blatant placemark.

FuzzyCustard · 27/07/2017 21:42

Whatever the outcome, I think the OP should hang some wind chimes near the door/window of the CFNs. You know, those really annoying tinkly bloody wind chimes that make really annoying tinkly noises all day and all night. My neighbour might have some

IndieTara · 27/07/2017 21:42

Cant placemark so bookmarking

faithinthesound · 27/07/2017 21:43

I am so going to be late for my doctor's appointment because of your cheeky fecker neighbors OP. TELL THEM TO HURRY UP!!!

Waddlelikeapenguin · 27/07/2017 21:43

I cant keep with this thread pesky children been reading since this morning & finally got to the end!

I hope all the restoration isnt too disruptive for you OP Flowers i am horrified for the building too Sad

We used a builder once who moaned about us jumping through all planning hoops before work could start - he told us how he would drive a bulldozer into listed (hundreds of years old) trees Sad because "they can list what they want but once it's knocked down it's gone & any fine is nothing compared to the money i am making" Angry needless to say we did not part on good terms...

jennielou75 · 27/07/2017 21:44

I expect they have gone away at least for the night. We always go away if having building work or decorating done.

BelligerentGardenPixies · 27/07/2017 21:44

Yes of course! They thought OP would be moving out and hoping to pull a fast one on the "new" neighbour who they assumed would be new tenants of the new landlord. Cheeky fuckers, they are in a fuckton of trouble!

Part of me thinks "Good, they deserve it" and part of me is cringing for them when they realise what this will cost them.

ethanrayne · 27/07/2017 21:45

Another shameless placemark

fannydaggerz · 27/07/2017 21:47

Maybe they were planning to go away for a long weekend so they could come home to the work being finished?

Theresnonamesleft · 27/07/2017 21:47

I think they've watched one too many diy programs. You know where developers come along rip out everything and install new doors. Not understanding that when people do this the doors lead to their own property.
