Parking wars - on my own drive !

I know the rules, diagram is attached. 😉

I'm on half days this week and have just got home to find a car in my driveway. As we are a corner house we have two driveways, big enough for one car each. Parking is really tight around here and permit only too. Opposite us is 8 terraced houses with no allocated parking, so quite often they either park in their garages or in the handful or visitor bays opposite my place but in front of theirs. My front drive is VERY clearly my driveway.

Cheeky Fucker Neighbour (CFN) runs a business from home which involves a lot of clients coming and going from her house throughout the day (pet groomer) and he employs two people to help.

I came home today to find a car in my drive which was not DHs. So I park down the side (pink section) of the house on the road where neighbours park their cars. I go and knock on several doors to find out who it belongs too, turns out it's one of the employees who is staying for a little while longer (P/T). "But I'll only be another hour, so I'll move it then." I reply "No, move it now please as I have to unload my car." Person refuses and I end up leaving telling them to move it within 30 minutes.

That was an hour ago and when I knock on the door there is no answer.

My next door neighbour has just told me that this car is on either my front drive or rear drive each morning ! When he questioned them about it, apparently CFN has said it's OK for them to park there and they have cleared it with us. No they bloody haven't!

Thing is this went on last year but after words it sooner stopped but obviously they are doing it again.

I'm sat here glaring out my front window waiting for the fucker to move his car then we will have words. I would block it in, but the road is only wide enough for one car so would block the road.

Definitely penguin bollards. 🐧

LadySpratt · 27/07/2017 06:56

Have caught up with all 30 pages since DS woke me up super early. Should have been out of the shower by now to get to work on time, but had to get to the end of the thread. Please do keep posting op!!!

McDougal · 27/07/2017 06:57

Can't believe this thread. Who does shit like this?

Surely non emergency police could advise?

This takes the biscuit for all parking threads.....apart from the rugby team, of course Grin

EllaHen · 27/07/2017 06:59

Yes, agree with other posters. This business is proving to be a nuisance to you and your neighbours. Make sure you all complain to the council.

Esspee · 27/07/2017 07:01

Is it still there OP?

Nanna50 · 27/07/2017 07:03

shakingmyhead while the cfn was out the op should have parked her car in the cfn's driveway, the cfn can hardly complain when it is her employee , on her suggestion, blocking the op's driveway.

Absolutely yes OP why did you not do this?

Fishface77 · 27/07/2017 07:04

Doesn't the CFN live in a terraced house with no of road parking??

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 27/07/2017 07:04

Oh my god. Can't believe this is still going.

Absolutely. Your other neighbours sound sane and on board. ALL get together and complain to the council. It's unacceptable to run a business if it's causing resident this much nuisance. Make sure you state it was so bloody long. And they've been using your drive all the time without your knowledge.

He can't then claim it's vindictive from you if you all club together.

You have my utter sympathies. (And please may I know how you are remaining so calm?! I need that!)

Dreams16 · 27/07/2017 07:04

I would get it towed they will soon learn the hard way that you don't park on someone else's driveway
You were very calm fair play to you id have dragged them out of the house I'm not so nice teeth snarling etc that's beyond rude that they had the cheek to tell you when they would be moving car off your driveway I feel angry for you

DressedCrab · 27/07/2017 07:05

Read the thread - CFN has no driveway.

Tamatoa · 27/07/2017 07:18

It had better be on bricks, and one inch thick with sudocreme or I'm going to explode with unspent rage!

Tinkie25 · 27/07/2017 07:20

Cheeky fuckers.

Fitzsimmons · 27/07/2017 07:22

Oh wow I can't believe they left it there overnight, and with no apology! The cheek.

LakieLady · 27/07/2017 07:31

I'm so loving this thread, and will be very disappointed if OP comes home this afternoon and the car has just gone.

Still, if that happens you can leave it a few days to let the dust settle and then ... bird seed, lipstick, sudocream, fish, nails, 3-day old pee etc, all at different intervals so the events appear random. Perhaps on CFN's car as well as the employee's.

Jeez, I feel guilty if I have to park outside a neighbour's house rather than my own, never mind on her drive!

AlphaBites · 27/07/2017 07:39

Car is STILL there Angry

shakingmyhead1 · 27/07/2017 07:39

call a tow truck

AlphaBites · 27/07/2017 07:40

And I leave for work in 10 mins - both DH and I agree they'll try and move it when we are out.

N0tNowBernard · 27/07/2017 07:40

No way?!?!?

averylongtimeago · 27/07/2017 07:41

Block it in so they have to ask you to let them out.

But definitely, lockable bollards.

Cheeky fuckers.

shakingmyhead1 · 27/07/2017 07:41

make sure to get a chain or bollard today! so it stops today!

CanuckBC · 27/07/2017 07:42

I would be seeing red!!!

user1473069303 · 27/07/2017 07:44

What a total disgrace. I know I'd be hopping mad.

I suppose you could invest in the bollard(s)/chain and fit them next time the cheeky fucker makes an appearance and block them in then.

I'm wondering whether they'll come back, though?

TestTubeTeen · 27/07/2017 07:44

Leave a note in the windscreen saying that if the car is ghetto when you get back further action will be taken. That you have noted their reg no, and taken pictures. And you have notified your other neighbours to the fact that this parking has NOT been agreed . Tell dog woman that if anything like this ever happens again you will tell the council that her business is causing nuisance parking.

Fliptopdustbinlid · 27/07/2017 07:45

I would have blocked it in with another car for days!!

Tamatoa · 27/07/2017 07:45

Baby oil. Now. All over it.
