To think it's pathetic to take drugs on a night out ...

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 16:10

She's 31 and until she met this new girl she never took drugs.
Now every time she goes out with her she takes Coke.
Every 30 minutes going to the toilet taking more.
I'm starting to dislike her because of it,I know that sounds awful but she's always jumping around after it,sweating, sniffing, bleeding nose and I just think she's Pathetic.
Both 31,she has 3 kids and I think your a mother and doing that.
I love a night out, cocktails etc but I'm honestly thinking of ending our friendship.
What's your opinions?

Have you read any of my posts, even one. I'm anti ALL drugs including alcohol.

And why are you wishing kids into non existence or them to take drugs you fucking weirdo?

Would you rather your kid ate a bucket Vindaloo and had burning ring of fire or one thousand grams of Kendal mint cake and its teeth fell out?

Sheesh.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 24/07/2017 21:37

Thats ds2

And I'm joking...

Though in thailand a long time ago we asked for a coke and upset a very nice man who was very worried that we would be executed for taking drugs

Mammylamb · 24/07/2017 21:39

I think you are being quite judgemental. But mind you I don't know if I could be arsed with my friends being on coke on a night out

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 21:39

Do you think your 14 year old is never going to try alcohol? You can't answer the question because you know that you would rather be tried alcohol than illegal drugs

Until very recently rape in marriage was legal and consensual gay sex was illegal. Only very silly people think legal = right and illegal = wrong.

Amazingly well-said! Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/07/2017 21:47

Do you want a definitive list in order. OK.

Caffeine
Cannabis
LSD
Alcohol
MDMA
Coke
Spice
Heroin
Meth
Fentanyl

That style of thing...

The absolute worst for me is fentanyl, which is a painkiller. Prescribed.

KidLorneRoll · 24/07/2017 21:51

"1 glass of wine or 1 line of Coke?"

What a fucking stupid question, that only someone utterly ignorant about drugs and alcohol would ask.

You could (and will, I'm sure) carry on feeling all superior that your legal drug is more civilised than illegal ones. Or you could, y'know, educate yourself a little bit.

Miffer · 24/07/2017 21:55

MrsTerryPratchett

Is MDMA the powder stuff you get now or old school E? I was under the impression the latter was far less dangerous than alcohol.

Fattywattyswalkofshame · 24/07/2017 21:55

Its only wanky coke heads that I have ever heard defending people who take coke.

Fruitcorner123 · 24/07/2017 21:55

Just read through this thread aghast!

  1. Cocaine is addictive a pp said it wasn't but that's crap
  2. It can kill and can cause very serious health problems
  3. The most common side effects are depression, anxiety and paranoia all of which are dreadful things to live with and will cause the user to want/need more drugs for the high.

People comparing it to alcohol are missing the point entirely. If our bodies require ANY drug on a night out then that's a problem. It is highly likely that cocaine is more dangerous that alcohol especially in the quantities which the OP is referring to but together they can be particularly lethal. Many users take these two drugs together.

OP i wouldn't stop being someone's friend over this, you may need to be there for her kids, but i would avoid nights out with her. She sounds like a nightmare and YADNBU

People who are comparing it to you having a couple of cocktails are just using the legality of alcohol to justify illegal drug use. It doesn't.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 24/07/2017 21:56

I thought coke wasnt that addictive

Completely ignorant about these things

RuncibleSp00n · 24/07/2017 21:56

Hear Hear Terry, I'm in agreement.

I'd also say that in my experience, my withdrawal from various common SSRI antidepressants has been a million times worse than my historical experience of withdrawing from any other (legal or illegal) drug, including coke, amphetamines, mdma, alcohol etc. And they'd been given to me for years by a GP.

OP- I think you've not had much direct personal life experience of any of the actual facts around this sort of thing, have you? Unless you count reading the DM and adopting the DM sad-face as 'life experience'

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 24/07/2017 21:57

Cross post with fruit

BootsWithDresses · 24/07/2017 21:58

ts only wanky coke heads that I have ever heard defending people who take coke.

Defend? Defend what exactly? A personal choice?
People can do what they want as long as they don't hurt people around them.

DioneTheDiabolist · 24/07/2017 22:00

Totally agree with MrsTP on this thread. The ignorance and lack of insight of those posters who need to look down on illegal drugs users to make themselves feel good is the reason our society can't have a productive conversation about harm reduction and instead prefer a never ending, destructive, expensive, pointless War on Drugs.

Upyourdaisy · 24/07/2017 22:04

HoneyDragon you're giving me the giggles 😂

Literally, all of these are true of alcohol.

I am aghast at the cognitive dissonance.

It's not just that (although I completely agree). It also works to normalise alcohol consumption which is fucking awful.

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 22:10

No your correct I don't have any experience with cocaine usage ...I have a brain!

RuncibleSp00n · 24/07/2017 22:12

Why does this issue cause you so much disproportionate animation and ire, OP?

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 22:16

I really don't want to see my friend in a early grave due to Coke!
