That men on mumsnet seem to have. And why people never just state them. "His hobby" sounds so pervy

I think sometimes 'hobby' is used because explaining it will make the post longer or derail the thread or detract from the question.

NorksAreMessy · 23/07/2017 13:47

Are you actually the real actual C0D.?

If so, welcome back! If not.....ummm.....hello

cod · 23/07/2017 13:48

Agree. Cycling and gym enough with tinies

OP posts:
alltouchedout · 23/07/2017 13:50

Cycling. Gaming. LARPing. Any excuse to avoid doing actual parenting.

FurryTrousers · 23/07/2017 13:50

Lawks, the actual C0d! Smile

And don't forget bloody bloody bloody golf.

IloveBanff · 23/07/2017 13:50

How on earth does hobby = pervy?

RadioGaGoo · 23/07/2017 13:51

Rifle shooting. Competitions all the time [bSad

SwissChristmasMuseum · 23/07/2017 13:53

And do no women have hobbies?

SwissChristmasMuseum · 23/07/2017 13:54

A lot of blokes round here do some sort of music.

MaisieDotes · 23/07/2017 13:55

I always assume it's golf. Or sailing.

People who say they are "training" when they mean "exercising" are idiots imo.

Isobelnecessaryonabicycle · 23/07/2017 13:55

Cycling
Kayaking
Surfing
Kite surfing
Am dram
Local operatic society
Fishing
Martial arts
Beekeeping
Morris dancing
Golf
Sailing
All if these can take ages and cost an arm and a leg

GrumpyOldBag · 23/07/2017 13:57

It can't be the original Cod.

No typos.

cod · 23/07/2017 13:57

Oh no. They're too normal for weird hs on the relationships topics.
I imagine them internet based and a bit greasy

I know

AlpacasPackOwls · 23/07/2017 13:58

I hate the term "hobby". It really irritates me.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 23/07/2017 13:58

I always wonder this too. Also posters say they can't say what it is as it's too "outing" Confused. How does that work? Surely every other poster on here won't be part of the same mediaeval re/enactment society or whatever it is

ClothEaredBint · 23/07/2017 13:58

in my husbands case:-

Band practise
tinkering with bike/car engine

cod · 23/07/2017 13:58

There's often a "rogue female who cannot be trusted" linked into it.
She does weird things like TEXT HIM. ShockShock

GrumpyOldBag · 23/07/2017 13:59

notes that cod is ignoring all questions speculating about her identity ...

cod · 23/07/2017 13:59

Advice back "text her and tell her to keep her hands off his joystick.replica grenades"

OP posts:
TheNaze73 · 23/07/2017 14:00

Hobbies = cycling, golf, fishing, Morris dancing & in extreme cases, seagulling Grin

AlpacasPackOwls · 23/07/2017 14:01

I saw one recently that eventually revealed his "hobby" urgh was cooking. I didn't realise the fact I enjoy cooking and sometimes do it for fun made it a "hobby" urgh. It's just a thing I do, not a fucking "hobby" urgh

cod · 23/07/2017 14:01

That's a joystick or grenades. Not both.

If cooking is a hobby it involves them chopping things into bowls first. Angry

tobee · 23/07/2017 14:03

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks hobby=pervy. Thought it was just my mind. Grin

PeachPearPotato · 23/07/2017 14:05

You can't use a name twice can you? Genuine cod I think 🤔
