She wants to call it Pasta Best. To me it sounds like her products are passed their best. Should I tell her before it is too late and she has started trading?

Pasta Perfetta?

Queenofthedrivensnow · 22/07/2017 13:08

Unsupastable!!! Love it

MrsOverTheRoad · 22/07/2017 13:28

Pasta Master would be better if she's wanting a Punny name.

Though I HATE punny names.

I knew of a hairdresser called Deb and her shop was Deb on Hair.

Her niece's ambition was to have a similar shop called "Tracy on Hair"

I think poor old Tracy missed the point...

squoosh · 22/07/2017 13:31

I hate pun names too. Hairdressers are obsessed with pun names.

PetitErmitage · 22/07/2017 13:32

Grief I have actually seen a hairdressers called 'Curl up and Dye'!

There's a stall in my town called 'Kinky Donuts'. DS wondered if they were served in little fishnet stockings.

japonicaleaf · 22/07/2017 13:42

YANBU ... Pasta Best is an awful name. Confused

I like the name someone suggested 'Pasta Perfect.'

ZippyCameBack · 22/07/2017 13:44

Years ago, I was on a forum where one of the members had called her online craft supplies business The Lady Cave. She took a fair bit of convincing that she might attract the wrong sort of customer!
Naming a business is hard. I hate my business name but I have a lot of repeat customers so I don't want to change it and risk making it harder for them to find me. 12 years ago, I had 5 minutes to come up with a name and that was the best I could do. If someone had offered a better suggestion before I started trading I'd have been really grateful.

MommaGee · 22/07/2017 13:44

Unsurpastable stolen from upthread is what I would now call my pasta shop if I ever had one

japonicaleaf · 22/07/2017 13:45

Reminds me of a few people I knew 20 years ago, who formed a band and called themselves 'Harponica Chimes.' (They were attempting to be a rock band!) I thought the name was shit. I mean, what is a 'harponica?' They kept the name ... try googling it. Yeah that's right! They never got past the stage of local gigs.

The Lady Cave Grin

There are some innocent people in this world!

ZippyCameBack · 22/07/2017 13:52

OMG the thread is still there (although I think the forum is now closed)

Lady cave Grin. I don't think I've ever heard the expression but I was under no illusion as to the connotation.

katienana · 22/07/2017 14:15

Pasta Plate
Pasta Dish

Changebagsandgladrags · 22/07/2017 14:19

Yes your friend needs to remember that some people call is par-sta and some call it pas-ta.

LauderSyme · 22/07/2017 14:19

Yeah, Pasta Best is not good, it has connotations of something old and tired.
You should gently convince her.

plantsitter · 22/07/2017 14:22

Pastards?

PantPlot · 22/07/2017 14:25

A steakhouse near me (now closed) had a brief stint as

"Bare Grillz"

MikeUniformMike · 22/07/2017 14:25

I know someone who call is Parrsta.

How about Pasta la Vista?

Itsnotwhatitseems · 22/07/2017 14:26

Maybe your friend could personalize it..I saw a restaurant in London called Pasta Julia. So something like that (hopefully she isn't called Julia)

Itsnotwhatitseems · 22/07/2017 14:26

mind you

Pasta Brenda doesn't have the same ring to it does it

BewareOfDragons · 22/07/2017 14:28

I think you gently mention the negative connotation.

SapphireStrange · 22/07/2017 14:29

Bare Grillz Grin

Itsnotwhatitseems · 22/07/2017 14:29
