So DD 18 months has been up since 10:00 and is still not happy. She has had calpol, cuddles, banana and water and she isn't unwell. I've been up with her until now, lying on her floor, holding her in my arms etc.

I've just woken DP up so I can get a couple of hours sleep. He is pissed off. He works and I am a SAHM with two older children. I usually do all wake ups and have done with all of them but he is really good at early mornings as he is a bit of an early bird. Was I unreasonable to wake him? I think the thunder would have even if I didn't Grin.

I have done my fair share of baby plus toddler at home. And even with 2 pre-schoolers its much easier than working full time as well as parenting

For you.

I think the broken sleep is quite torturous. I can cope on 4 solid hours of sleep better than on 4 naps an hour each.

For what it's worth Babbity DP does love his job and he doesn't have to work the hours he does to keep our heads above water. He actually finds his work fulfilling. So yes my staying at home has enabled him to have three children (knowing they are being well cared for) AND indulge in a really fulfilling career. Likewise his career has enabled me to have the option to stay at home. He is not forced to work all the hours god sends to keep me in the style I've grown accustomed to Hmm.

I have worked nights which though I loathed were infinitely preferable. At least I knew that I was only doing 4max in a row and would get a few hours kip the next day.

Anyway, thank you for all the feed back. Clearly the jury is out. Hopefully tonight will be a better night...and I'll be sure not to give her a banana Grin

Sleep tight all you lovely folk.
