Throws, succulents/cactuses, candles (really fucking smelly ones....), family photos on the wall, lots of books, Mediterranean plates and trinkety shit on the walls, footstools, 70s Scandinavian furniture, grey and lemon decor...

dontcallmelen · 17/07/2017 20:44

I have also developed a habit of buying those little sewing boxes/tables I use one for storing dgd nappies/wipes etc, also love furniture with wheels & have a hankering for a washstand.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 17/07/2017 20:56

Wooden floors
Wooden Venetian blinds
Loads of massive plants
Brightly coloured ceramics and glass
Light wood furniture
Light walls (hate the gloomy battleship grey trend)
Clarissa Hulse
Pip Studios

Letitrain · 17/07/2017 20:57

Proper crystal glassware, in a glass fronted cabinet

Bluntness100 · 17/07/2017 21:11

I've lots of massive plants too, and they have fairy lights wrapped round them,,

They light up dark corners in rooms in the evening and give a lovely soft warm light.

I've also got fake fur throws that everyone loves snuggling under in the winter. Gorgeously soft and snuggly.

Oh I forgot the huge canvas we have hanging on the way down the stairs. It's is on our wedding day and it's a gorgeous picture of us both and I love my canvas.
I also have a few hanging hearts and a large Next sideboard as well as two next lamps in the same room as our huge telly and floor length curtains.
I have an enormous dfs corner sofa that is excellent quality and is standing up well to three children and a dog.
I didn't realise that so may people would scorn my decor actually until the last thread. I pick what I like and what I'm happy living with not what a magazine or someone else tells me I should.
All 4 bedrooms have feature walls as well oh and so does my dining room.

JaceLancs · 17/07/2017 21:36

Thank you Fontella and dontcallmelen I've been collecting it for about 15 years
I use it for sweets nuts and fruits at Christmas
It's not really suitable for every day as it's all embossed
I have quite a bit more!
My every day pottery is portmeirion botanic garden which I have on a dresser in kitchen diner
Don't ask about my glass buying habits! I came home with a carrier bag full of cloud glass from the charity shop today DS just gave me one of those looks!!

WhooooAmI24601 · 17/07/2017 21:43

I love white. For everything. Bedding, blinds, walls, everywhere. The only walls in the house which aren't white are the feature walls in the DCs bedrooms (one has a huge, terrifying Avengers mural thing which takes up an entire wall and looks like Iron Man is about to launch across the room and makes me soil myself when I check on DS2 late at night, the other has a giant mural of planes which look equally demented but mildly less terrifying).

DH says I'm batshit having lots of pets, DCs and white everywhere but it means when everyone's in bed and the house is quiet and tidy, I feel calm and soothed. I think because I work in a school I'm around bright gaudiness so much I can't deal with it at home.

I also love photos. I have them everywhere on walls (in white frames, obviously). I document every year of the DCs lives because nobody took photos of me til I was adopted at 11 so it's fear of missing something perhaps.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 17/07/2017 21:49

Those who got white living room furniture where did you get from, everywhere I looked online looks shit or to bloody expensive.

The whole of upstairs is ikea but I don't like TVs media cabinets

OhMrBadger · 17/07/2017 22:00

Large floor vases with frondy things in them.

I am back with my people!!

I was just reading the other thread about 'hates' and was shocked at the repeated mention of grey paint.

I am planning on painting my hall grey and was slightly un-nerved reading how much it is loathed.

Then I come here and see grey is still loved by those who matter!

Grin

So grey it shall be!

And of course, baskets, candles, cushions and other cottagey clutter!

Summat like this .....

I love that era - the geometric designs and the colours etc. I had a fabulous 1930s glass ceiling light and a marble mantle clock which I acquired from somewhere, but I ended up giving them to a friend as they didn't really fit with my scheme at home, whereas her place was very Art Deco-ish and they looked fab.

RebelandaStunner · 18/07/2017 09:03

Lots of natural materials plus a smattering of faux fur.
Long curtains
Candles, throws, fucktons of cushions.
Large furniture and great big artwork some original.
Colours- mainly white with silver, pinks and dark blues.
Clutter free as much as possible.
A sheepskin bull stool

I like Scandinavian, modern, some feminine glamour and touch of gothic.
