Disgraced myself on a work night out

Can anyone share their tales of similar drunken foolishness to make me feel better???

I can't remember most of details but according to a co worker vomiting and falling asleep in bar were involved 😳

Bwahahahaha,,,don't worry, brass neck it out, I'm sure others were drunk too, most folks have been hammered at a work do at some point or another. They will all likely be thinking of their own behaviour.

gwenneh · 15/07/2017 15:59

I did that, about two years ago. Only I was in the ladies' when I fell asleep!

Sent gift baskets to the people who helped get me home and showed up on time to work the next day (no one else did.)

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 15/07/2017 16:00

Work weekend away. Got shitfaced, got in hot tub topless, fell down the stairs (twice, and dented the plaster) threw up while manager rubbed my back then passed out in the shower. Not sure it could be worse 😂 I felt horrendous and felt like I'd never live it down. I haven't really but I don't die inside quite so much now (4 years on!). I was in a baaaad place, have grown up somewhat now 😂

ethanrayne · 15/07/2017 16:02

I'm dying inside and DH pretty annoyed as I puked on the bed 😱

Any tips on styling it out on Monday or do I just never go back in EVER AGAIN

Me. Started a new job in a management role and was invited to a staff night out two weeks later. I was nervous. Got very drunk on wine. Fell outside. Vomited. Taxis refused to take me. One of my (very lovely) staff members had to get his wife to come and drive me home. I gave the wrong address and they took me to my parents home instead of my own. That went down well... Blush

I very nearly resigned. But I cringed my way through going in the following Monday and no one mentioned it again (to my face). 4 years later and I'm still there and thankfully many who were there that night have left and I'm able to laugh about it now Grin

ingeniusnonsense · 15/07/2017 16:05

Split my dress and everyone saw my tights-covered bare bum.

Got locked out of my hotel room wearing nothing but a camisole top. My manager in the next room had to lend me his dressing gown.

Same conference, I found the same manager in reception pissing up the curtains, so we were quits.

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 15/07/2017 16:05

Personally I spoke to my manager personally to say how sorry I was and how much I appreciated her help, but to everyone else, I brought it up myself, just said 'oh my god, what a state to get in! Should know better by now!' and made myself as useful as possible while maintaining very sloping shoulders every time anyone brought it up ('ughhh don't!!')

I forgot that I texted a guy I worked with and told him I wanted him Blush kinda did but we were very incompatible. worse still he answered in eh morning, sober, and said he felt the same.

Aquamarine1029 · 15/07/2017 16:05

Oh My. That's grim.

19lottie82 · 15/07/2017 16:05

Ahhhhhh it happens to the best of us!

Once on a Xmas night out I sat next to my boss and told him the job was just pocket money to me as I made loads from my own small business, and when someone came out with mojitos he said
"oh I had the best mojitos in Mexico!"
Me "have you been to Mexico?"
Him "yes, I went......"
Me (interrupting him) "who's cares? next!"

And to make things worse i looked down and my skirt was round my waist and my had was on his leg! Cringe!

As someone says you just need to brass neck it on Monday in work, even if you're dying inside!

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 15/07/2017 16:06

Great input Aquamarine Hmm

ingeniusnonsense · 15/07/2017 16:07

One of our Scottish bosses got hammered at a works black tie do, he was in full highland dress and sharted down the back of his legs, into his special Scottish socks.

Aquamarine1029 · 15/07/2017 16:08

Was your boss there or just co-workers?

Aquamarine1029 · 15/07/2017 16:11

Everything, she asked for our opinions, and that's mine.

VimFuego101 · 15/07/2017 16:11

I was sick on my new boss' shoes on a night out, I'd only been at the company 2 weeks.

Everything will feel worse today, hangovers bring a horrible sense of doom with them. I would just go in on Monday and laugh it off (apologize to and thank anyone who helped you get home).

JeReviens · 15/07/2017 16:11

I still go cold at the Christmas party where I, recently promoted, thought it a grand idea to show off my breakdancing skills between dessert and coffee. Yes. Breakdancing. I was not then, and am not now, built for breakdancing. God I'm dying again just thinking about it now. Thankfully that was around 30 years ago and a good many of the people there are now gaga or dead!

Biggreygoose · 15/07/2017 16:12

Not me, but a new graduate employee cemented his legendary status at his very first Christmas do by vomiting down the quite exposed cleavage of one of our senior directors.

He got promotion a few months later, but still hasn't quite lived that one down from 4 years ago....

RandomUsernameHere · 15/07/2017 16:14

Don't worry OP, we've all been there. Most of your colleagues will have been really drunk too. By next Friday someone else will have done something more embarrassing and you'll feel better!

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 15/07/2017 16:15

imgenius amazing GrinGrinGrin

OP we've all been there.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/07/2017 16:17

These are funny. 😀@ 19lottie82

Seren85 · 15/07/2017 16:17

Not me but a fellow trainee got extremely drunk at the Christmas do, vomited on the table after insulting one of the Partners then passed out in her dessert. She came in on Monday, styled it out and made fun of her actions. She was kept on after her training contract and had been promoted to Associate by the time I left the firm.

ethanrayne · 15/07/2017 16:17

My boss put me in an uber Shock and other workers. Oh god oh god oh god I am
Literally cringing and clenching.

JeReviens · 15/07/2017 16:18

Aquamarine1029 Everything, she asked for our opinions, and that's mine

Well no, actually, OP asked people to share stories - not sit in unrequested judgement [hmmm]

ingenious - That is a seriously funny story Grin [ grin]

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 15/07/2017 16:19

Can you not read Aquamarine?

JeReviens · 15/07/2017 16:19

It depends on context. If senior bosses were there, they probably won't be too impressed. Your best bet might be to apologise to people who matter, thank people who helped you & let them know it's out of character. Don't make light of it, or make jokes at your own expense, or people will think that you do think it's funny. I would also take extra care on the next night out. You can probably get away with this once and people may have a degree of sympathy. More than once, they'll look less kindly on it
