Hi guys new thread.

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Please note the MNHQ comment on thread number 7.

"Hi everyone,

..... We had to remove several parent-blaming posts, so we'd like to ask folk not to do this. We think we can all agree that this is a truly awful time for all involved and we just wouldn't wish it on anyone. If there's anything we could do with more of, it's support. We'll continue to remove reported posts that break TGs (if we've missed something, do feel free to let us know).

If we have to make too many deletions, we will need to look at removing the thread; which is the last thing we wish to do.

Thanks all"

Will they still be praising C&C if Charlie lives and the pressure of caring for him ruins their relationship and they split, and Connie Looks old and frumpy and tired.

No they fucking won't they'll all have fallen out with each other and will have stormed off to find new bunches of facebook friends

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 15/07/2017 21:00

raspberrysuicide they've got a thing about money. Going on about raising it for the pastor to stay..now for the American doctor for his flights and accommodation and now sending it for his birthday.

Sounds horrible but maybe better to wait for the decision before bombarding the parents with cards, scrapbooks and whatever else they're thinking of sending.

SimplyNigella · 15/07/2017 21:00

I never thought the day would come that I would agree with the so many of the comments on the Daily Fail.

It's a Dystopian brave new world if what care you get depends on how popular you are online

I can imagine a Black Mirror episode where people in need of treatment appear on an X Factor-esque light entertainment show and their funding is based on their share of the public votes.

FallenUnicorn · 15/07/2017 21:02

They really are tactless and completely unable to accept the truth Angry

Meant to say I was referring to the "apart from the mitochondrial situation he's thriving" comment.

raspberrysuicide · 15/07/2017 21:05

TinselTwins
100% agree with you there x

jobergamot · 15/07/2017 21:10

The parents are now millionaires. They are still asking for donations via BACS transfers as they don't incur fees that way like with paypal or gofundme.... Is it just me that finds this a little tasteless?

raspberrysuicide · 15/07/2017 21:12

What are they living on? presumably they have had to give up their jobs, who is paying their mortgage/rent etc.
Are they taking it out of the donations?

BlueNeighbourhood · 15/07/2017 21:12

I don't post often but try to keep up as much as I can, along with the deluded CA posts.

I just think C&C are in so far over their heads now that even if they wanted to stop they couldn't for fear of reprisals from CA. I also think that they have been stuck in the denial phase for so so long and it shows no signs whatsoever of ending.

I listed to the BBC article with Penny on a previous post and that was horrific. That's the best they can hope for for Charlie, a world whereby he is trapped. At the moment he's right in between life and death and they need to let him go. Someone needs to sit the parents down and explain what terminal means, and no amount of pastors or expirimental therapy is going to give them that healthy boy they want, at least not with Charlie.

And those bloody CA posters who say he's 'thriving' and a 'chubby chunk'. He's not! He's swollen up because his organs are failing :( Its a horrible situation made worse by these people who fight a cause they know nothing about.

GabsAlot · 15/07/2017 21:13

@fallenunicorn and thy really love him dont forget

I am also finding that aspect a bit unsettling. Any money given should surely have been directed to an independent account - not the mother's personal bank account.

MirandaWest · 15/07/2017 21:18

There is still much confusion on CA about the role of guardian and the guardian's barrister.

TinselTwins · 15/07/2017 21:19

I don't think they're "on the make" but I do think that it's just another sign that they have nobody around them giving them good advice.

Edsheeranalbumparty · 15/07/2017 21:20

Omg Fallen that screenshot

"apart from the mitochondrial situation he's thriving"

What the.......how can she.......what does she think he.........

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!

FallenUnicorn · 15/07/2017 21:20

Oh gabsalot they definitely love him, the same as their own children apparently and are already planning to carpool for a day out at court. It's so odd. They are completely ignoring the fact that it's C&C blocking the head measurements now and are saying GOSH are too lazy to bother Hmm I really think they're unaware that there's lots of other very ill children in that hospital who also need caring for.

I can't remember who said it but it is very much like an episode of Black Mirror.

FallenUnicorn · 15/07/2017 21:22

EdSheeran I know.... its bizarre, they're acting as if he just has the sniffles to shake off. Upsetting Sad

CaveMum · 15/07/2017 21:22

I'm going to repost that quote from the Daily Mail article again as it should be repeated over and over:

"Sometimes love is proved in the letting go."

what is this 'thunderclap' they are on about on CA?? And how on earth does this help the poor little fella?

Thunderclap is a real thing that can be done where the same message goes out at the same time on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, I've joined in a few anti brexit ones.

Needless to say it looks like CA are not doing it correctly though so that's probably why it is not working properly.

DarthMaiden · 15/07/2017 21:27

I don't think it's unreasonable for the parents to use some of the money to pay for living expenses tbh.

They've both been unable to work, but presumably have rent/mortgage to pay for.

Yes they might get benefits but the idea of parents struggling financially whilst having a desperately ill child is abhorrent to me.

It's yet another weight to bear in a desperately difficult situation.

Charlie's parents are relatively fortunate in that regard in so far that money is not a concern for them.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 15/07/2017 21:27

As if someone got a tattoo...they all seem to ve trying to out do each other on who cares/loves/has cried the most for himself.
Know for some it's being a part of something and getting swept along with it but it just seems to bizarre to be true. It isn't about them yet somehow they're good at making it so

RJnomore1 · 15/07/2017 21:28

If anyone has looked at the Charlie's gift Facebook page, there's a 5 minute video of photos of Charlie. Connie pregnant, when he was born, first few months and he is a gorgeous gorgeous boy. Smiling responding eye contact even when he is in hospital and you can see he's quite poorly. Then suddenly nothing. As if someone turned a switch off.

It's completely heartbreaking.

Jux · 15/07/2017 21:30

No one (except the CA bunch) likes the money side much. Of course, they do need some money to live on while this has been going on, but what they've raised for Charlie's treatment in the States is a heck of a lot more then just day to day expenses.

It would be nice if they donated the bulk of it to GOSH, if things don't go their way, or to the two Mito charities which were posted about in a previous thread. Could someone post links to them again, or can anyone remember what they were called?

TartanDMs · 15/07/2017 21:32

I noticed that some of the merchandise is being sold via Laura Gard's PayPal account. I may be cynical, but I wonder how much of that money will be held in trust. I can (almost) understand Connie Yates giving her bank account details to all and sundry, although I disagree with it, but with the aunt now accepting payment for the tat being peddled, I am a lot more sceptical about an audit trail.

redshoeblueshoe · 15/07/2017 21:32

I don't care about the money, but if he does go to America it really won't last long. If he doesn't go I hope some of it goes towards GOSH's legal fees.

jobergamot · 15/07/2017 21:33

there's no way they're gonna donate the money to GOSH is there. I can't warm to the parents I'm afraid. And I think it's because of the cash.
