Hi guys new thread.

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Please note the MNHQ comment on thread number 7.

"Hi everyone,

..... We had to remove several parent-blaming posts, so we'd like to ask folk not to do this. We think we can all agree that this is a truly awful time for all involved and we just wouldn't wish it on anyone. If there's anything we could do with more of, it's support. We'll continue to remove reported posts that break TGs (if we've missed something, do feel free to let us know).

If we have to make too many deletions, we will need to look at removing the thread; which is the last thing we wish to do.

Thanks all"

Did you see that one of the members has put this on the CA thread about going to the court on 25th?

My daughter has an appointment at gosh on the 26th so I plan on coming down a day early to go to the court

She may not be one of the ones that has posted offensive stuff about GOSH but she is in a group containing people who have and her daughter is a patient there . . .

muckypup73 · 15/07/2017 21:36

redshoeblueshoe, it wont though will it???

Just been catching up on this thread, some really informative interesting posts.

Just wanted to comment on the side effects of the potential treatment. I've actually felt quite upset on reading that the side effect is 'only' diarrhoea. For some reason the thought of this little boy with all his struggles having possibly severe diarrhoea added to that is just too much. Lots of CA comments like 'oh is that all?' And 'I'm sure Connie can cope with a bit of diarrhoea after everything she's been through.' It's just horrible.

muckypup73 · 15/07/2017 21:37

NatashaGurdin, has she no sorry for swearing, but has this woman no fucking shame??? that is utterly disgusting/

It says a lot for the level of twattery on CA when even the DM seems reasonable GrinGrin

You beat me to it! Its a strange new world

GoingSlightlyCrazy09 · 15/07/2017 21:38

I've read the comments online on the DM today and it is fair to say that I think the vast majority of people are now realising that there is a lot more to this story than the parents are letting on. I find it very disturbing that the whole legal process has been dictated by them however and do hope that changes will come from this case. I think they will get their wish and Charlie will make his first birthday but in years to come, I think that decision may well haunt them.

GabsAlot · 15/07/2017 21:38

somone got a tattoo? what dos it say

NatashaGurdin · 15/07/2017 21:41

Apparently not muckypup Confused

I went back and read it again when I first saw it to check I'd read it right!

Also some of them on there seem to think that the kipper family spokesperson is a lawyer. (I suppose he may be, I don't know but if he is he is not working on this case).

muckypup73 · 15/07/2017 21:41

GabsAlot, I am an asshole????

reallyanotherone · 15/07/2017 21:44

somone got a tattoo? what dos it say

It's a blue heart with #hope written underneath.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 15/07/2017 21:45

GabsAlot nothing big just blue heart and #hope

However followed by this comment..
This is so cool. Has anyone contacted tattoo shops to see if they would be interested in raising awareness and money for Charlie by doing tattoos (like the Manchester bee) but a little blue heart?...is this something people would be interested in too?

Wow....

Sirzy · 15/07/2017 21:46

That's a new low even for them

user1498911470 · 15/07/2017 21:47

I don't think they're "on the make" but I do think that it's just another sign that they have nobody around them giving them good advice.

Which is a shame because they have a valuable source of good advice in the form of the GOSH staff, are they not listening to what GOSH have to say? :-(

user1498911470 · 15/07/2017 21:48

Sirzy I've not managed to keep up with all of the thread - I've been working all day - what is a new low? :-(

TinselTwins · 15/07/2017 21:49

I've actually felt quite upset on reading that the side effect is 'only' diarrhoea.

God they're so clueless
Painful cramping, potential dehydration, potential moisture leisons and sores.
Diarrhoea kills! It wouldn't kill me, but it kills the young and the elderly.
Obvs one would hope in charlies case wherever treated him would keep him adequately hydrated so it wouldn't come to that, but even so, diarrhoea really burns the skin if you're incontinent (as babies are). Unless they insert a fecal catheter, which is invasive.

In charlie's case (not moving much). Skin break down from diarrhoea could lead to deep wounds and infections, which could in themselves be fatal.

^ all of the above is usually worth it if someone can recover from treatment (e.g. with diarrhoea causing antibiotics), but it just goes to show that it's bollocks to say this treatment is "safe" and harmless and there's "nothing to lose"

Laura gard has put a request on her personal page that people stop turning up at their house.

Lightlovelife · 15/07/2017 21:57

Shock turning up at whose house?

DarthMaiden · 15/07/2017 21:58

@TinselTwins

I agree. They seem to downplay or put a positive spin on every aspect of his condition and his parents circumstances.

Swelling (oedema) = weight gain
Morphine 1 = proves he is not brain damaged because he can "feel"
Morphine 2 = he's being doped to look brain damaged
diarrhoea = minor side effect
Parental rights = Charlie's rights

And so on and on....

GriefLeavesItsMark · 15/07/2017 22:00

As it happens diarrhoea kills around half a million children under the age of five each year. Deaths that CA seem either unaware or or unconcerned.

DarthMaiden · 15/07/2017 22:02

@reallyanotherone

I hate to say this but that's a side effect when you invite the "world" into your life.

When you whip up hysteria and let it go unchecked.

When you put yourself in the public eye and use every means to keep yourself there.

GabsAlot · 15/07/2017 22:03

wow -for some lifelong belief or religion fine

but a baby you dont know an a case thats been less than a year marking your skin is outrageous

reallyanotherone · 15/07/2017 22:04

"This is an exceptionally difficult time for all of us. Please respect our family's privacy and do not turn up to our house. #charliegard"

Doesn't say whose house specifically.

Ellie56 · 15/07/2017 22:05

Laura Gard was referring to her house. Turns out it was someone from the press. Why is she so put out when they've done nothing but court the media?

redshoeblueshoe · 15/07/2017 22:05

Blush - I did say I hope some of it goes towards the legal fees. I also hope C&C get some professional counselling.
