Continuation of the discussion.

It looks highly unlikely that there will be a verdict today as GOSH have not yet been able to put their case across. The Gard family had their position heard this morning and currently an expert witness from the US is being questioned via video link.

thrs nowhr to go though is there

gosh want to end this now not carry on

MillieMoodle · 13/07/2017 17:48

Rabbit what I meant was that calling this doctor a quack and suggesting he doesn't know what he's doing is just as bad as the CA posts suggesting that the GOSH doctors don't know what they're doing. They all know what they're doing, they just have differing opinions.

The GOSH doctors have been defended to the hilt on here, and rightly so, I was just pointing out it didn't seem fair to vilify the other doctor because his view is different.

LovelyBath77 · 13/07/2017 17:49

I think reporting it would be better than a petition to be honest, especially with people's names on. Would give CA something to vent anger at, (and possibly threaten). Would you like your name given to them on a petition?

LovelyBath77 · 13/07/2017 17:50

I think if CA go quiet or at least calm down that would be helpful to the parents.

PortiaFinis · 13/07/2017 17:50

Rabbit its not a telling off, I just disagree with calling a doctor a quack having criticised CA for doing the same.

Anyway lets agree to disagree, it's a pretty minor detail.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/07/2017 17:50

While I wouldn't expect this witness to be an expert in everything, I would think that, if he is serious about treating Charlie, he (or the parents' legal team) would have obtained the necessary supporting evidence from other experts to fill in the gaps

This ^ The bottom line is that the claims of "new evidence" seem to have fallen completely flat, and the "expert opinion" they commissioned has failed to help the parents' case. Granted they could get in yet another^ "expert", but how long will it take for one to take on board the full "facts", and what happens to little Charlie in the meantime, given that he might easily be made to wait for the next expert ... and the next ... and the next?

Oh, and the sky news update says that Connie has left the court in tears again

Trampire · 13/07/2017 17:50

CA are now advising people to DELETE any personal threats of violence. One woman admits they'd been quite a few about Gallop.

I have a couple of screenshots safe.

I have no idea why I have way this case will go. I trust the Judge to make the right decision. I think my main anger has been towards the vile abuse I've seen. I'm glad the judge has pointed it out.

rabbitnothare · 13/07/2017 17:50

I didn't even say it MillieMoodle but I think it was based more on his lack of examining evidence rather than a different view.

I won't detract anymore though.

jellypi3 · 13/07/2017 17:50

I don't think anyone suggested he doesn't know what he's doing? But he has come unprepared to what could be the case of his career, and hasn't come off in the best light.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 13/07/2017 17:50

I doubt it's being involved in a high profile case.

He isn't just some 'quack they found online' as it was put upthread.

LovelyBath77 · 13/07/2017 17:50

How long will it go on today. It's already nearly 6pm.

Trampire · 13/07/2017 17:50

*which way.

PortiaFinis · 13/07/2017 17:51

Cross post Millie

Rhodiolia · 13/07/2017 17:51

I sent my concerns to the Met via the "contact us" section on their website, I was emailed back with a case number, then an hour later an email to say it was being dealt with by the appropriate department.

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 17:51

I think anyone that has the screen shots should send them to the Met and contact facebook too.

LovelyBath77 · 13/07/2017 17:52

Rhodiolia, that's great, good to know, for anyone else who has the same. I know in the past days people have said they have done the same.

HouseOfMouse · 13/07/2017 17:52

FB are pretty useless at addressing abusive posts. However, if it is brought to their attention that the judge in this case has specifically commented on the abuse towards GOSH staff and lawyers, and said that the perpetrators will face the full force of the law, then this might persuade FB to sit up and take notice.
Worth mentioning if anyone is reporting to FB?

Trampire · 13/07/2017 17:53

Venusflytwat, I screenshot a few and tweeted The Met on Twitter. I didn't get a reply but who know? It make add to any body of evidence if they need it?

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 17:53

fb dont do anything-unless thier lawyers have been told of the case

LovelyBath77 · 13/07/2017 17:53

In terms of FB you just click on report group, and then the reason, which was credible threat of violence. I reported CA and CA USA and had no reply from FB, not sure what that means.

rabbitnothare · 13/07/2017 17:53

I know some have said some awful comments about Gollop - So please be wary before commenting from now on x

At least they admit it.

LovelyBath77 · 13/07/2017 17:54

Ok, so I guess could have been the admin blocked members for 24 hrs and removed posts yesterday. I'm an admin (not on there!!) and didn't know you could block for 24 hrs. as an admin. Maybe you can.

WankYouForTheMusic · 13/07/2017 17:54

I can't see that an FB petition to take the group down would help. Better to focus on the breaches. If they were going to take it down, I expect it would be on legal grounds rather than people wanting them to.

Trampire · 13/07/2017 17:55

Rhodioa's way is better! I'll try that,

Trampire · 13/07/2017 17:56

Sorry spelled your name wrong Rhodiolia. X
