New thread so that we can await this morning's hearing.

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 5 threads have been.

Fingers crossed that this can all be resolved today and that Charlie and his parents can find peace.

Sirzy No, they don't like that. Funny, they all said he was a fantastic witness up til then. Someone else even thinks GOSH "got to the witness"

Seriously, if you wrote this as a piece of satire people would say it was too unbelievable.

This is becoming incredibly uncomfortable now. It seems this 'expert witness' is simply someone who has fed half truths to distraught and desperate parents in hope of an actual subject to test treatment out on.

FGS, this witness says he has not seen Charlie's medical records, only summaries. Is it ethical to give evidence on something as important as this with only part of the data?

NY expert still being cross-examined by Gollop QC for GOSH. He says Charlie is in terminal stage of his life — ever since put on ventilator.

All this talk of Charlie being used a guinea pig is frightening. The thought of him lying in a hospital bed a d doctors being able to do whatever they like to him just because he can't say no or because he physically can't show any signs of distress is abhorrent. It's absolutely petrifying to think a human being, even worse a little baby who can't speak for itself, could be used in such a way Sad

I really, really hope he is allowed to pass away peacefully.

I just saw a snippet on the news and it had video footage of Charlie and it was haunting.....there was just nothing behind his eyes and it seems so wrong to allow him to live like that Sad

I'm all of a sudden finding this incredibly emotional .
I wish that there was some evidence from somewhere that beloved Charlie could be saved and have a meaningful life I really do.
I hope for the best possible outcome today . I'm so sad for his poor parents who are clearly just clutching at straws . But mostly for poor Charlie who is lay on that hospital bed while this goes on around him . TBH I really feel like it is none of my business and wish for his sake it wasn't being played out like this .

I'm shocked that anyone at that level in a specialism would seemingly show up without having read the previous ruling and without having seen full medical records.

I was thinking before I would respect the judge no matter what. But when the "expert" is basically admitting that he is going to be a Guinea Pig then (unless something more more compelling) comes forward I think I would find it hard to respect a decision to place him in this mans care.
