I've been thinking about what happens tomorrow.

I expect the parents have been consumed by the court case this week.

If the judgement rules against them tomorrow (as I expect it will) then - as per the last case we get into the same scenario of the parents wanting time to say goodbye.

However, the last time this happened, it wasn't time to say goodbye. It was time to whip up a frenzy, accuse GOSH of not letting him home to die etc

It feels so very sad, that in what might be the last days of his life that his parents are not with him.

GOSH get damned whatever they do. If they delay again, they give leave for the circus to continue and if they don't they are heartless bastards.

I'm sorry to say this but once the ruling comes down I think GOSH need to act within 24/48 hours max. Sad

AlwaysSpellingMyName · 12/07/2017 14:58

@tinhead do you have a screen shot of the abuse from the staff member of Nhs Lothian. I work for this trust and this really wouldn't go down well with management. I tried to look on the CA page but there's 1000 of horrid comments I couldn't single that specific one out. If I find it, I'll definitely report it.

ChocChipBitch · 12/07/2017 14:58

Apologies if this has been discussed further up thread but just seen the article on the fail about the 8 'myths' the parents intend to debunk in court on Thursday. In regards to Charlie not being in pain they have said 'he has been stable throughout, his heartbeat is normal, which is a recognised sign there is no significant pain'. WTAF?! His poor heartbeat is stable because he has a machine beating it for him, machines are doing everything for him. Without them he would not be stable at all. How on earth do you begin to combat such delusion Sad I feel so sorry for all involved but really think this must now come to an end.

thereallochnessmonster · 12/07/2017 14:59

hope to god they sue the ass off the hospital and those involved! ! And why has no royal visited in backed charlies parent they were quick enough to back the mc canns though oddly who actually caused Thier daughters demise!!

Oh God. I can't even. Hmm Angry

and there was a post saying: What if this was Prince William & Kate Middleton's baby?!? What would happen then? That's what drives me nuts. That baby would have gotten treatment some how, some way, and immediately!!!! Quit discriminating and let Charlie have his chance!!!!

FFS.

Yeah - because Charlie is being 'discriminated against'. In what way, exactly?? He has been receiving treatment.

MirandaWest · 12/07/2017 15:00

Can there be an appeal after tomorrow? I don't know what the position is.

ohgoonthenjustonemore · 12/07/2017 15:00

I have also been on a Facebook reporting mission against numerous CA posts and sent a message of support to GOSH and received a lovely response. The situation is just so out of control.

Lightlovelife · 12/07/2017 15:01

Apparently Pastor Mahoney is still in the UK and will be at the rally tomorrow. He has asked his supporters to pray.
Tricky because I will be praying for the Judge, but also for Charlie that he will be allowed to die peacefully. I suspect that isn't what the pastor has in mind.

Ellie56 · 12/07/2017 15:05

So the deadline has been and gone for all the new and dramatic evidence to be submitted. Hmm

I absolutely agree this has backfired spectacularly on the parents and that there is no new evidence, dramatic or otherwise. If there had been, it would have been put before the court on Monday. Why would you wait if you had some fantastic evidence of a something with a "10% chance of working"? Even some of the brighter members of CA were expressing surprise they didn't present it then.

The parents were clearly banking on getting a new hearing with a new judge and having another two weeks of protesting and slagging off GOSH and courting the media, giving Trump (who unsurprisingly) has now gone very quiet, the chance to come up with a cunning plan to get them all to America. Then they could swan off, sticking 2 fingers up at the hospital and the courts, and subject poor Charlie to this experimental treatment.

I applaud Mr Justice Francis for putting his foot down and insisting it would be dealt with this week, in effect doing what they should have been doing for months - putting Charlie's interests first. I hope he is as robust in his dealings with them tomorrow for Charlie's sake.

It's time for the circus to stop. Time for that poor little boy to be free. Free from tubes and invasive procedures. Free from pain and discomfort and misery. And free from parents who think they know best when it as been proved over and over again that they don't.

rabbitnothare · 12/07/2017 15:05

This gives me hope though, only 79 people were silly enough to give him money.

Reply received to my email about the NHS Lothian staff member:

Thank you for email to the Patient Experience Team, I have passed this on to our employee relations team to deal with.

tinhead · 12/07/2017 15:16

@AlwaysSpellingMyName I do. If you pm me your email I will send them to you.

Ooh unless you can send pics by pm. I'll try that first.

Zoflorabore · 12/07/2017 15:18

Dear god, is anyone else feeling exhausted by reading CA?
There should be a 4th question- are you thick? if not then you're not welcome.

Have never seen such utter crap, like a pp said, these people walk amongst us.
How can there be so many idiotic people on one page? So I've been reading about how all will be ok once they're on the plane to America, they will be looked after there with there brilliant healthcare, erm hello it isn't free you know.
That's why so many American babies and children are dying, the cost of medical treatment is so expensive and many insurers won't cover their treatment but the American people are expected to fight for a baby who is and has been receiving excellent free healthcare and yes there may be money in the pot but it will run out at some point. What happens then?

This is way out of control now.
The parents will never accept the situation.
They were asking to take him home to die, then asked for extra time to say goodbye then threatened gosh with a judicial review.

They know there's no new evidence, are merely stalling now and all the while at the centre of this is Charlie who has no say.
One last thing, CA seem hell bent on saying the parents have had their " rights " taken away, what rights are they?

What worries me is how they react when Charlie dies.

DarthMaiden · 12/07/2017 15:18

I hope that his parents are by his bed right now.

Not with lawyers or PR Pastors.

I hope desperately that they are taking the opportunity to be with their son.

tinhead · 12/07/2017 15:19

I've received the same shatners

CaveMum · 12/07/2017 15:22

I've had a reply from Lothian NHS. They thanked me for my complaint and it has been passed to "employee relations team".

CaveMum · 12/07/2017 15:22

Cross-posted with you all there! That'll teach me not to refresh before posting!

minionsrule · 12/07/2017 15:23

My concern now is the fallout if the judge gives final review in favour of GOSH (which he should). The mass hysteria will go into overdrive.
I just hope that the parents come out and thank people for their support but say it is over and the 'campaign' now has to stop.
Thinking ahead, I hope the funeral for this poor little boy isn't a circus played out in front of the media as well, but a very private service with no cameras, no hangers on etc

LapinR0se · 12/07/2017 15:23

I don't think they ever wanted to take him home to die, I think they wanted to smuggle him to America and get treatment for him.
And I think that's probably why he was not released from GOSH in the first place.

GabsAlot · 12/07/2017 15:26

i think so too lapin i said that at th time-they wanted him away from gosh is all

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 12/07/2017 15:26

I had my reply from LNHS too.

I can't help but think that if Charlie was Kate & William's, they would have the humanity to let him go.

Umpteenthnamechange · 12/07/2017 15:27

Now they wish to bring a murder charge if Charlie dies

GabsAlot · 12/07/2017 15:27

i dont think thy will minion thyr in so much denial

Umpteenthnamechange · 12/07/2017 15:28

And also "photo" is apparently called "foty"

I learn new things each day from CA.

Umpteenthnamechange · 12/07/2017 15:30

And multiple messages calling Katie Gallop as cunt

DarthMaiden · 12/07/2017 15:31

@Zoflorabore

I've deliberately stepped away from the CA page. As I posted before I ended up shouting at my iPad in utter disbelief.

I've reported many comments on FB and Twitter but frankly it's true "you can't argue with stupid people because they beat you down with experience" is true.

Whatever logic you bring to bear on the situation they just up the anti with more vitriol and posts that demonstrate an utter lack of understanding of the issues at hand.

The keyboard warriors out there are submerged in their own "tweetisphere" and "Facebook identity likes/posts/followers".

It fuels their self esteem. Being part of a group. Being the most liked. As they see posts getting liked that fuel hate against GOSH and people posting getting more online attention they do the same, then more.

They don't use social media to get a rounded view. It's about self validation.
