Just wondering what would attract you to someone instantly to become friends?
Mine is, if the other person is polite and kind.
What's your's?

I'm attracted to people who are quite confident and direct.

GoingRogue · 11/07/2017 21:34

Friendly, smiley face, warm, easy to talk to. Then once I've got to know them, trustworthy, honest and reliable.

elQuintoConyo · 11/07/2017 21:43

They smile with their eyes. Then do/say something goofy. Rather like me!

JuneFromBethesda · 11/07/2017 21:43

Pretty much what GoingRogue said.

Glumglowworm · 11/07/2017 21:46

Someone I can be silly with

Same sense of humour

gemsandstones · 11/07/2017 21:50

Same as Glum
Intelligent
Someone I can be silly with
Great sense of humour, but not smutty Hmm
Giggles a lot.
Down to earth
Independent in nature Can't stand extra 'baggage'/hangers on.

gemsandstones · 11/07/2017 21:52

Just to add, I prefer a homebod. Someone who doesn't mind not going out all the time.

MaidOfStars · 11/07/2017 21:54

Intellectual (as opposed to intelligent). Funny.

whirlycurly · 11/07/2017 22:24

Maid, I'm the opposite. I'd go not intellectual (but intelligent!) Smile
Funny - witty and crucially, able to laugh at themselves
Kind
Warm
Confident enough to initiate or reciprocate when conversation is initiated with them
Lively - interesting job, hobbies or interest in travel

I'm in awe of some of my friends and what they've achieved for charitable causes or by overcoming personal challenges.

lemondropcake · 11/07/2017 22:26

Silly and makes me laugh
Loves a good moan

Shockers · 11/07/2017 22:34

Thinking of my friends, the ones who I most enjoy spending time with are the ones who are interested in the world around them, and the people in it; enjoy nature and are fairly spontaneous and easy to plan with.

Blondielongie · 11/07/2017 22:35

Easy going and not an 'over-sharer' at first meeting. I have found too many times that someone I instantly click with in a new environment, really like and get on with very well will just leave me to click with someone else once they have met someone more interesting. How cynical am I??

I like slow burners :) dry and witty. Who are also caring and good listeners.

RebelandaStunner · 11/07/2017 23:41

Happy, lively, interesting people with a good sense of humour who like going out/ doing stuff. Extrovert but not bossy or argumentative.

Xmasbaby11 · 11/07/2017 23:42

Funny
Confident
Extrovert

Like me, really!

FindMeIfYouCan · 12/07/2017 13:22

Where do you find such people? Please send them my way.... Grin

OP posts:
Argeles · 12/07/2017 13:36

If they are smiley, kind, friendly and seem genuinely interested in me, then they have friend potential for me.

I can't stand talking about what brand pushchair, car seat etc is 'the one to be seen with.' The same goes for cafés, restaurants and shops - just use your own fucking brain and develop your own personal taste. Stop blindly following hipsters and the latest crazes ffs! There are so many people like this in West London where I live, and it makes making friends virtually impossible for me.

Talk to me about anything else!

MaQueen · 12/07/2017 14:22

Laid back and quite self contained - I can't be doing with very emotional/needy people [shudder]

Sarcastic sense of humour.

Intelligent and intellectual.

Very sociable and outgoing.

They absolutely mustn't be bitchy or petty. I can't bear that.

FindMeIfYouCan · 12/07/2017 14:29

MaQueen:!
You criteria sound so much like i prefer. Especially the non bitchy bit. It's such a major turn off, but unfortunately some people seem to bond over bitching.... I fail to understand how Shock
