his parents are going to have to live with how this has played out for the rest of their lives long after the media and ca have forgotten

Sluttybartfast · 10/07/2017 15:45

IIRC, morphine suppresses respiratory function. Doctors: is this likely to have any effect, given he is ventilated? Could morphine conceivably shorten his life (but at least make it more comfortable), and is he likely to remain on a stable dose, or have it increased?

I too now can't help desperately hoping he can slip away of his own accord soon.

totallyliterally · 10/07/2017 15:45

I'm baffled.

If you had clear evidence that would show that a treatment would work. That is what you'd be in there presenting. Getting it shown. Let the judge see it would make a difference. And let the treatment happen

If you haven't really got the evidence / it's not quite as strong as you are saying you might keep it dangling to prolong this all.

But why if you know that th treatment isn't going to help and your child is just suffering.

HouseOfMouse · 10/07/2017 15:45

I think the parents had already sacked the lawyers who acted in the April hearing (going by comments made by Laura Gard the the CA page).

ShatnersWig · 10/07/2017 15:45

From CA FB:

"I HATE GOSH THE MURDEROUS SCUM. 😡"

I've not named the person who said this. Surely something needs doing about this sort of thing? Seriously. This is hate speech.

SumThucker · 10/07/2017 15:46

A few are questioning the parents 10% claim, the fact he's on morphine and the fact they have no new evidence.

11122aa · 10/07/2017 15:46

If he does pass away Naturally I could see some of his family outright accusing it of being murder.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 10/07/2017 15:47

If his skull isn't growing then how is this ethical? The rest of him is still growing

HouseOfMouse · 10/07/2017 15:47

"Gollop QC: White House and parents have misunderstood judge’s previous ruling on Charlie’s best interests."

Puzzledandpissedoff · 10/07/2017 15:47

If you had clear evidence that would show that a treatment would work. That is what you'd be in there presenting. Getting it shown. Let the judge see it would make a difference. And let the treatment happen

Which is why it's hard to believe it even exists

Some seem to have forgotten that "evidence" which might be accepted on social media is not enough for a court

cjt110 · 10/07/2017 15:47

Thank you sum

LapinR0se · 10/07/2017 15:48

This is what we needed. Facts. I am so relieved after all the BS that had been circulating.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 10/07/2017 15:48

CA now furiously tweeting Trump to get his lawyers in.
SMH.

NerrSnerr · 10/07/2017 15:48

It's heartbreaking. The important person in this is Charlie, so many people have lost that. I hope the morphine is making him comfortable.

The CA page is awful. Really upsetting.

11122aa · 10/07/2017 15:48

GOSH have slapped down the White House. Let's hope Trump doesn't see that on Fox News and respond on twitter.

Ellie56 · 10/07/2017 15:49

GOSH had looked for an alternative UK hospital that was prepared to look after Charlie. None was willing to take him. Wonder why?

HouseOfMouse · 10/07/2017 15:49

The parents' QC is looking hopelessly under prepared.

stitchglitched · 10/07/2017 15:50

CA saying doctors/judge have dug their heels in and are out to line their pockets. Bit ironic considering the bank account details and tacky merchandise. They really are just thick. And now death threats and all sorts to GOSH.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 10/07/2017 15:50

Gollop QC: GOSH had looked for an alternative UK hospital that was prepared to look after Charlie. None was willing to take him

Interesting ... though for GOSH's sake I can't help feeling sorry about this

Incitatis · 10/07/2017 15:50

There is no conceivable way that his condition can be reversed or improved. He must be in heart and/or kidney failure judging by the severity of his oedema.

Forcing a terminally ill child to continue existing in this way is abusive. The poor staff must be tormented.

It beggars belief.

LapinR0se · 10/07/2017 15:50

Oh shit it now says the parents are finding it hard to stay silent in the courtroom. Yes, because their fantasy tale is coming unravelled.

11122aa · 10/07/2017 15:50

It seems Chris and Connie are heckling the Judge from the Gallery.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 10/07/2017 15:51

Oh no, are they kicking off in court now?
I can't imagine how the poor hospital staff are coping with it all day to day.

Looby4 · 10/07/2017 15:52

He is now on Morphine which will hasten the end.

NerrSnerr · 10/07/2017 15:52

'I am so so so angry!!! You are too good: pay a group of hooligans and take that poor child out of that f.... hospital: THEY ONLY WANT TO KILL HIM!!!'

The above is from CA.
