I've found the shop

Phone cases? Really? Who would want a photo of someone else's desperately sick child you didn't know on your phone?

Surely it would be better just to donate the money to them than buy phone cases and air fresheners?

MsHooliesCardigan · 10/07/2017 22:15

I'm not religious but I think that there's a lot to be said for the Serenity Prayer:
'God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can
And wisdom to know the difference'

Connie and Chris need the accept that they cannot change the fact that Charlie is dying and that no number of media appearances are going to change that.

ive been lurking for quite some time, and i agree that the way CA are treating GOSH staff is horrendous. I am a nurse on an adult cancer ward, and have been involved in cases where the family fight the medical decision to treat patients palliativity, myself and my colleagues have been called murderers by family members and some of my colleagues still suffer with anxiety from these incidents. i have supported a doctor who was verbally attacked in a lift by relatives, who came back to the ward in tears.

people forget that the medical team are people too, and they will be suffering through all of this as well. having go against their own beliefs and be called murderers.

i hope that Charlie gets the treatment he needs and that his family are supported through the decision...as for CA they will find something else to cling on to soon enough. very sad case

Boreof a very sensible approach. Maybe we could just find a suitable emoji to reply with?

Sirzy · 10/07/2017 22:19

I agree boreoff

Ignore and if needed report and then stick with the reasoned discussion.

allowlsthinkalot · 10/07/2017 22:19

Strike out fail.

muckypup73 · 10/07/2017 22:20

LetsGoFlyAKiteee, his parents will have known he was on morphine, and they have not said, now one wonders why on earth they would do that???

muckypup73 · 10/07/2017 22:21

Lshe, yes they should be renamed the cling ons.

Stopnamechanging · 10/07/2017 22:21

I know that someone suggested not C&P and I sort of agree but I am so enraged by the posts towards a lady who posted on there to explain why she agreed to switching off her baby's life support.

What absolute bloody wicked people, this was one of the replies before she was told to get off the page.

Well your entitled to that - personally I think if there is a chance of saving the child then switching it off is as bad as murder - if there was no chance it would be different but 10% to me is a risk worth taking

girlandboy · 10/07/2017 22:24

Just looked at the Charlie's Army USA fb page against my better judgement
They have a petition entitled "Petition to Save Charlie Gard: 10-month-old sentenced to death at London hospital". 413,944 people have signed.
Sentenced to death! How must the staff who have worked for so long on Charlie at GOSH feel about that. Disgraceful.

Cocolepew · 10/07/2017 22:24

Lonelymummy Flowers

redshoeblueshoe · 10/07/2017 22:27

Bore - that is the right approach.

Zhx3 · 10/07/2017 22:27

GirlandBoy, that's the petition I'm supposed to have signed! I'm sure I wouldn't have read that and thought it was a good idea! Worried now.

girlandboy · 10/07/2017 22:28

Zhx3 Sounds like they could be adding people without their knowledge somehow. How, I can't imagine?

fourinabedfan · 10/07/2017 22:31

Just saw this.

fourinabedfan · 10/07/2017 22:33

Apologies, didn't reload the page before posting so hadn't seen that a PP has already mentioned it.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 10/07/2017 22:36

I doubt any of them are literate enough or have the ability to understand the majority of the discussion here.

ememem84 · 10/07/2017 22:36

It just gets worse doesn't it?

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 10/07/2017 22:37

Funny how it's seen from the other side. It's been said about comments on the GOSH Facebook and Daily Mail site etc. Basically anyone it seems who doesn't agree it's a conspiracy and GOSH are out to murder Charlie are mean and mocking..

Birdsbeesandtrees · 10/07/2017 22:39

Most of them really are coming across as thick as shit. Hardly surprising they don't grasp the situation. Probably all the ones that reply to those emails from the Nigerian bloke who will give them a million quid if he can just have all your bank details.

Lelloteddy · 10/07/2017 22:39

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2976123-Great-Ormond-Street-Hospital-Staff-Support-Thread-Thread-2

Given that quite a few threads have previously been deleted, the support threads for GOSH are an option for people to post support/ raise awareness of the GOSH FB page.

Co1onelblimp · 10/07/2017 22:42

Whoa. I've just had a look at the CA Facebook page. They' re really not the brightest on there are they?

MirandaWest · 10/07/2017 22:43

I don't know why referring to Charlie as a chunky monkey is bothering me so much. Some people are saying he looks swollen and others are saying it will come off when he starts crawling. And that GOSH have messed up and they're trying to cover it up and once he gets to America it will all be fine.

I feel Sad about it. I would still like to be wrong though.

Lelloteddy · 10/07/2017 22:45

The 'chunky monkey' comments are really bothering me too. He is so swollen and oedematous and his skin is so stretched. In the most recent picture his little limbs are covered up. I can't believe the denial.
