I wonder how much it is costing for all this, the ICU place and the lawyers?

Can I ask, do Charlie's parents ever post on the CA Facebook? I'm just trying to gauge whether they agree and join in with all the vitriol of whether they keep their distance?

Well I made the mistake of looking at the CA Facebook page. To someone saying they would "have the doctors arrested" to someone else calling Gosh "murdering scum" who are trying to kill him with morphine. Apparently the judge today is heartless too because of course it's always a good day when discussing the fate of a critically ill baby.

I genuinely don't understand it. Why would people think nurses and doctors are trying to harm this child?? Do they not realise it's thanks to these people Charlie is still alive??

CA want a Government enquiry into this. It really has become a circus. I feel for the staff and other patients at Gosh.

Another CA nutcase saying she's never met Charlie but loves him as much as her own children.

"However, can anyone honestly say that they wouldn't do the same in Charlie's parents position? They are DESPERATE"

There must be so many parents bereft and desperate around life support removal decisions and will have been in the past but we've not had this circus before

Surely the social media side can be addressed and shut down from the threats made alone and people prosecuted for making them

If there are any GOSH staff on Mumsnet, I salute you and thank you for all your hard work, resilience and the sheer grit it must be taking to get through the day

If you are a direct carer for Charlie I cannot begin to imagine how traumatising this is for you.

Your professionalism in not only caring for him but facing his parents knowing what they are saying about GOSH speaks volumes about the ethos and ethics of this amazing hospital and its staff

Dear god I just read the thread on the CA FB page about contacting Jeremy Kyle for the hair follicle test.

A reply by some bloke just said don't bother because he has been a guest on there and it's a joke. They will side with GOSH.

These are the fuckwits that are coming up with all sorts of conspiracies.

I'm starting to wonder if this echo chamber of half wits is causing the parents this confusion. They must be so sleep deprived and distressed that they are not quite sure where the information is coming from IYKWIM?

I'm clutching at straws here and trying to think of why this is all happening. Connie in particular is looking very thin and unwell.

My understanding is that the Judge requested Charlie's head be measured was because the family say the hospital are lying about issues in that respect and this would determine whether this was correct or not.

Whilst Charlie's parents become increasingly desperate and are, I believe, being manipulated by others with an agenda, I have been involved myself in prolonged and tortuous family court proceedings.

The system is adversarial in the extreme. Believe me, both parties become firmly entrenched in their viewpoint not just the parents.

I actually hope there IS an enquiry into this because this cannot be allowed to happen again, a world renowned hospital has been utterly demonized and spent untold funds on the legal aspect of this and it needs to be avoided in the future.
I have great faith in out judicial system but end of life decisions should always be in remit of qualified health professionals in collaboration with families. Maybe it needs to be some sort of disclaimer if you accept NHS care? I don't know that's a stupid idea but imagine if this played out every single time?

The whole morphine thing has whipped up a frenzy on there..why should this been public knowledge anyway?! Surley not all his treatment have to be made public..course it's all a conspiracy

However they are more supportive posts on there questioning things and the mind set of people..be soon deleted for definite but even still..Wasn't like that before

Oh, and there was one earlier on/maybe yesterday who was advising the Gards to put hidden cameras by his bed to record the doctors in case they tried to sneak in and switch his support off whilst no one was looking.

Is there any part of this which means they need to win to not be liable for the costs? Is there any way that is part of the proceedings or not? Could it also be they have massive financial problems due to the cost of all this? Presumably they aren;t working at the moment as well.

I wonder if there are trolls in the CA group who are getting off on whipping up a frenzy but don't actually believe it. I bloody hope so as it is better than the alternative - which is that people truly think like this

This business with the head circumference - I presume the family (and CA) are seeing an increase in size due to possible oedema, whereas the doctors are talking about skull size?
